Not that we REALLY needed an excuse to hit up Fashion's Night Out or anything (after all, we were pretty much sold after Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber's adorable PSA). But helllooo! Now that we've heard Azealia Banks will debut her very own MAC lipstick in the New York MAC store that same evening, we're SO there. Yep, you read that right! The hip hop star has teamed up with the cosmetics company on a brand new hue, appropriately titled 'Yung Rapunxel.' It's a totally gorgeous shade of deep, dark purple, much like the one she sported on the cover of VIBE earlier this month. So obviously, we HAVE to have it.

Yesterday we lost our MINDS over the first official Fashion's Night Out PSA with Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, but today we were hit with the mother lode. Like, we're not even kidding—everyone from Usher to Solange Knowles to Karlie Kloss to Hailee Steinfeld join in on this 2 minute video to talk FASHUN while Glee's Darren Criss sings Madonna's "Dress You Up" in the background during the entire thing. YEAH. Of course all the models/musicians/celebs donned the official FNO T-shirt (which donates a percentage of its funds to the New York City AIDS Fund) and talked about how FNO is back and better than EVER.
James Franco: Renaissance Man.
Ok so it's old news that James Franco can do anything he wants, and not just because he's a smokin' hot Hollywood actor. He's added about as many slashes to his career description as should be allowed by law (actor/director/writer/photographer/academic/need we go on?), but now he's adding another one (kind of): fashion designer. Ok so that's not totally true--Franco isn't designing his own line or anything--but he is lending some of his photographs to Seven For All Mankind for a special edition series of T-shirts for Fashion's Night Out. Women's Wear Daily has the scoop--and photos of the designs, which will be available in stores and online starting on September 6th, and will retail for a cool $89.00. The tees come in white, black, and heather gray and are printed with Franco's polaroids, taken around Los Angeles. They have a burnt out, classic Hollywood vibe that's also part streetwear, and totally awesome.
James also directed a series of campaign vignettes for the brand, and in fact, the images for Franco's tees were taken during filming for those shorts. They feature Los Angeles landmarks as well as pictures of the cast of the campaign, including Lily Donaldson. The t-shirts are also signed by Franco, who said that the inspiration for the campaign was "a merging of new and old Hollywood," as represented by classic Hollywood scenery and new Hollywood talent.
What do you think of James Franco's tees for Seven For All Mankind?

It's that time of year again! As August just begins to relinquish its blazing hot stronghold, we know September is right around the corner. And what, pray tell, happens in September? NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, of course! And in September, the style extravaganza is officially kicked off with a major night of shopping for a cause: Fashion's Night Out on Thursday, September 6. The annual nationwide event is marked by stores staying open late, great deals, exclusive limited edition merch, and a GLUT of celebrity involvement. Don't believe us? Take a look at Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift fronting this year's FNO video campaign.
We asked people to show us their style on Fashion's Night Out.
Alright, you little stylettes. Here we are in the THICK of Fashion Week. How has it been for you? We imagine you're either reading this on your smart phone as you flit from fashion show to fashion show, pretending to be assistants to major mag editors to finagle your way past steely security/PR peeps (or maybe you have your own seating assignments, we don't know!!!). OR you've dropped off the grid (but not for long) to nurse your feet in a warm bath with chamomile and lavender because those puppies are high-heeled OUT. And as I type all that, the thought of that feels reeeeally good on my brain right now. As in, if I weren't the clumsiest person alive, I would totally be writing this while my feet soak in the tub because them dogs iz BAWRKIN'!!! *sigh* The things we do for FASHUN, right? Whatevs, I can always get my knee cartilage replaced (or can I?), but the record of me looking extra fabulous on Fashion's Night Out cannot be stricken. Plus, I HAD to keep up with all the other stylish ladies and gents who came out that night. And lemme tell you, there were A TON. Check out the video after the jump to see what cute and crazy outfits we spotted hitting the pavement of Soho for FNO!

What day is it? What time is it? Is it really only technically the second day of New York Fashion Week? How can that be? My brain. Does not. Compute. Was Fashion's Night Out really just last night? When Nicki Minaj hobnobbed with Giuseppe Zanotti, undoubtedly praising the success that is his recently revealed "Nicki" sneaker? When Leighton Meester performed an acoustic set at Tiffany & Co. for FNO? Was it just TODAY that Whitney Port wore that olive and mustard separates ensemble? (I think we're allowed a little leeway here because this question you may have actually asked yourself, no matter how lucid, since girl went through, like, four outfits today ALONE.)

Beth Ditto of Gossip (and her own solo career, thank you very much) performed at M.A.C. for their Fashion's Night Out event in commemoration of the kick off to New York Fashion Week. I don't know if you know what I know BUT if you had that sinking suspicion that Beth was one of those ladies who, if you met her, you'd fall madly, irrevocably, STUPIDLY in love with, you'd be 193749823749832748372% correct. She. Is. MAJOR.

While it's clear that Fashion's Night Out has become a MAMMOTH event, the mayhem it caused downtown was truly something to behold. Everywhere you looked there were spiked heels and topknots, red lips and bow ties, or vintage polka dots dancing around with tribal prints. Nestled down the somewhat quieter Mercer Street was the Helmut Lang store, which promised a full set by indie rock masters Best Coast. Even though there was a gigantic looming crowd trailing down to the corner, and also the presence of buttery lob-stah rolls distracting us on the street, nothing (and we do mean NOTHING) could tear us away from the '60s surf punk melodies and black leather loveliness this party was sure to conjure.

If you're in the New York area and were able to make it out to Soho last night for Fashion's Night Out, you're well-aware of the absolute ZOO that was Spring Street just outside of the DASH boutique—the crowning NYC jewel of the Kardashian conglomerate. Not like that is really news to anyone since the DASH store always sees throngs of people clamoring to step within its doors, not necessarily to shop their selection of dresses and other pretty things but to catch a glimpse of one of those Armenian beauties. BUT make no mistake, last night WAS different. Very, very different. People queue for hours to get into this store on the reg without the slightest clue of whether one of the girls will be there. This time, not only was Kim Kardashian 100 percent CONFIRMED to be there, but she had also enlisted the musical help of our very own DJ Pauly D to spin and get the party started! Naturally, the general public response was LITERAL MAYHEM.
For much of the night, the entire block of Spring Street between Greene and Mercer was SHUT DOWN. And not in an unassuming "We turned the hose on and rented a bouncy castle, so come check it out! *mounts yellow caution banners to a tree with Scotch tape*" kind of way. No. No no no no no no. The place was locked down with cops, barricades, men with headsets in suits upon which their perspiring selves + humidity were no doubt wreaking aaaall classes of havoc because the street was swarming with SO MANY sardine-packed individuals strapped with digital cameras and smartphones and high-pitched squeals and even higher heels.

Oooooh, so THAT'S what Justin Bieber was wearing at his Dolce & Gabbana appearance for Fashion's Night Out last night. Hahaha, yeah it's funny because I WAS THERE. In the store. With Justin Bieber. And I couldn't see a DANG THING he was wearing. I only saw a flash of his black plastic glasses as he ran down the stairs from the upper level to greet Asher Roth (who looked adorbs, by the way) onstage for a quick little diddy together. And you know what? I WISH I COULD'VE SEEN THIS OUTFIT IRL. It's soooo cute. A purple leather jacket? Are you kidding me? That's, like, JB's signature color, and he's rocking it with such swag it's ridic. He left it open so we get a teeny peek at his black and white graphic tee and black beaded necklace. Biebs finished the look with acid wash gray jeans, unlaced black sneakers, and THOSE hipster glasses. Siiggghhh.
