The 2014 Grammy Awards were all about amazing performances, stunning fashions, and creating wonderful memories that will last us forever. JK, the night was like 99% about Pharrell's hat! And Madonna's hat! And Pharrell's OTHER hat! From the second the stars started to fill out the red carpet, we couldn't help notice that hip headgear was simply everywhere. Take a look at ALL of tonight's millinery masterpieces:

We're going to go ahead and deem Pharrell's hats the real stars of the Grammys. I mean, hellooo. Just LOOK at his red carpet hat, the first one of two he sported this evening. Twitter appropriately exploded as people started drawing comparisons ranging from Smokey Bear to Canadian Mountie to Arby's logo. He changed for his "Get Lucky" performance, opting for a more conservative, albeit equally large and awesome, fedora. But, c'mon, Pharrell rocks no matter WHAT sits atop his beautiful head.

NOBODY PUTS BEY-Z IN THE CORNER. Which is why anyone else opening this Grammy party would be ridiculous: Beyonce and Jay Z's "Drunk in Love" is one of the most important songs of the year, and their love cannot be seconded. The performance was literally chill-inducing, with Beyonce posted up in ocean waves of fog on a chair, reminiscent of Flashdance. Consistent with her early-'80s, Broadway-influenced leotard steez, Bey was dressed in a gorgeous sheer-cage combo leotard by Nichole de Carle, sparkly polka-dotted Saint Laurent stockings with back seams, and black Stuart Weitzman jazz shoes for full Ann Reinking realness.
Pharrell Williams looks real good on the 2014 Grammys red carpet, eh?

“Oh snap, I’m running late—let me just grab these clothes from the bottom of my closet and bounce,” Pharrell Williams said, 20 minutes before he showed up on the Grammys red carpet looking like Dudley Do Right-meets-Run DMC (though the interwebz is dead set on Smokey Bear). No, but really, he is probably the only person at the awards show who can say, “I woke up like dih.”
Step into a world of LL Cool J's hats.
Photos: MTV Style
LL Cool J will three-peat as Grammys host on Sunday, and we're big-time pumped to see a perfect melange of pearly whites, charm, lip licking, and eye twinkles. (Ladies Love Cool James for a reason.) As far as his wardrobe choices go, there is one department in which he WILL NOT FAIL: That dude will wear a damn hat. We bet you one million dollars.
The simple fact is that LL Cool J and hats belong together. They've been in a long-lasting, loving, nourishing relationship since he was a kid. When he became a sensation with the release of Radio in 1985, it wasn't long before he became synonymous with the Kangol bucket hat and transformed the accessory into a hip-hop essential.
Because of this attachment to his Kangol, there was a time in the late '80s and early '90s when LL Cool J's bare head was basically a mythical creature, and people even started to wonder if everything was OK under there. I remember being so intrigued by what secrets lay under that brim. In the video for "Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)," the world got its big reveal: LL's bald noggin peeking through the top of a leather visor. He glances coyly at the camera and brushes the surface, acknowledging the shift in what the world knew about LL Cool J's head.
We've been taking the month of December to pour over the best, biggest, and most '90s fashion moments of 2013. Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? NO. Hence all the reminders. But a fresh start never hurt anyone. As we bring 2013 to a close, we've enlisted our old friend Jarvis Derrell of #shehashadit to help punt the past 365 days clear into tomorrow. Kweens, may we present to you: #2013hashadit.

Kelly Clarkson at the 2013 Grammys in L.A. on Feb. 10, and her custom Deborah Lippmann nail polish.

Just when you think you've seen EVERYTHING from the 2013 Grammys, we got our hands on even more deets behind some of the best beauty looks of the night. We loved Kelly Clarkson's super shimmery violet, pink, and gold glitter polish, which popped against her tea-length black sweetheart dress. But, as it turns out, it was a custom creation made just for Ms. Clarkson! She Instagrammed a pic of her decked-out nails and said, "The great Deborah Lippmann created a custom nail polish for me today! Should we call it 'Stronger?'" Wait, does this mean she's actually making this nail polish?! YASSS.
Can you believe Karlie Kloss? The woman is an alien, being able to go straight from the Grammys to LAX and open a show at New York Fashion Week all in the span of 24 hours. We're really in awe. We're also in awe of Editor-at-large Mary H.K. Choi, who woke up at the crack of dawn yesterday to bring us all of the Grammys red carpet action, from her Reformation romper, to Karlie's glam-squad routine, to all of the night's crazy looks. Whew. All in the name of fashion, though, right? And boy, did the red carpet ever deliver on that front. From 2 Chainz's Versace cape, which Choi said was "classic to the point of medieval," to Rihanna's classic, old Hollywood glam red gown that Kloss said "made her blend into the carpet" (in a good way) and Florence Welch's custom Givenchy which VH1 host Carrie Keagan said was "channeling her inner dragon," there was so much on the carpet to talk about, we knew we had to pull all of our hosts together to rehash it all. Watch the full recap right here!

Karlie Kloss hosted MTV's Grammy Red Carpet last night and walked in Carolina Herrera's runway show this morning.

We already know that Karlie Kloss is talented, incredibly hardworking, and makes a mean chocolate chip cookie, but last night we learned something new about our House of Style host: she's officially NOT human, you guys! Just mere hours after serving as the Style Correspondent on MTV's Grammy red carpet livestream in L.A., the model hopped on a cross-country redeye and went STRAIGHT from the airport to the Carolina Herrera runway show in New York this morning...which she opened, naturally. **It should be noted that we could barely make it to Times Square this morning, let alone strut down the runway at 10 a.m.** But Karlie being Karlie, she swapped out last night's Michael Kors dress and slipped into Carolina Herrera's black accented floor-length gown without even so much as a YAWN.
While the 2013 Grammys lacked both meat dresses and see-through lace gowns, the attendees didn't seem to follow that fashion advisory memo CBS sent out in hopes of curbing "inappropriate" nudity. They didn't actually think that, of all people, musicians would listen, did they? Even with side-boob and full leg exposed, the Grammys seemed a bit more tame and glamorous this year than in years past, and of course we could count on a lot of great hair and makeup. Below are some of my favorite beauty looks from the night along with tips on how to get the signature piece of the look.

Dare I say best dressed?? Rihanna always looks good, but I'm not sure we've ever seen her look this glamorous. Her hair is to die for, but my favorite thing about this look is how perfectly her lips match her dress. To get lips as good as this, I'd recommend trying NARS Semi Matte lipstick in Jungle Red.
Oh. My. Gah. The 2013 Grammys are officially over, and we have to say—this has been one of the best dressed events to date. Everyone looked so classy and cool in their simply chic gowns (and suits!), and we're still dying over it. Rihanna stunned us in a sizzling red number while Taylor Swift went the Grecian goddess route in a plunging white gown, but overall, we are super proud of our top 10 Grammy red carpet picks because they are just STUNNING. Check 'em out below!

We've already said so many words about Beyonce's Oman Yousefzada jumpsuit. How it reminded us of her leaked Vogue cover and how she and Hov were totes matchy-matchy. But it's the poised boss lady elegance of the look amidst all those wardrobe malfunctions waiting to happen that lands her on our Best Dressed list.
