Things can get a little bit messy at most music festivals (remember last year's tornado at Lollapalooza?!) but this weekend's Governors Ball was a true test in fandom, thanks to a little thing called MUD. After a massive rainstorm invaded New York City on Friday, festival grounds were mucky, dirty, and just plain gross for the rest of the weekend. While Mother Nature may have affected the audience wardrobes (trading sneakers for wellies was a non-negotiable in knee-deep dirt), luckily she didn't damper the rad performance outfits one bit. From Azealia Banks and her glowing neon onesie to Kendrick Lamar's wild graphic sweatsuit, see which artists hit all the right style notes at Governors Ball below.

Leave it to Miss Azealia Banks to bring a much-needed dose of color into the murky dampness of Saturday afternoon with her neon pink and orange ensemble. With multiple strategically-place cutouts and even attached gloves, this super-short romper gave everyone something electrifying to stare at while bouncing along to "212." The look is a complete 180 from her recent cat-inspired ensemble at the 2013 Life Ball, but capped off with back high-tops, she hit the coveted middle ground between glamorous AND festival-appropriate.

World, meet the ladies responsible for one of THE biggest bangers of the entire summer. Yes, we're talking about Icona Pop, otherwise known as the Swedish music duo who've planted themselves firmly in the middle of the dance floor with their so-catchy-it-hurts single "I Love It" (which you might also recognize as the theme song of Snooki and JWOWW!).

Comprised of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, the pair's been churning out electro-pop tracks since 2009, and thanks to an upcoming U.S. tour, *that* certified platinum single, and a jawdropping performance at this weekend's Billboard Music Awards, they've officially made the jump stateside. But because we're all about the fashion in these parts, it's long overdue that we also call these '90s babes out for their impressive personal styles. Somehow managing to complement each other without becoming overly matchy-matchy, (hey, not everybody wants to be One Direction!), they continue to kill it time and again.

Four days, 1300 bands, and countless shows later, CMJ 2012 is officially over. But although the New York City music marathon may have ended on Saturday, that awesome post-concert high definitely hasn't stopped quite yet. You know what we're talking about- our ears are still ringing, we've got new songs stuck in our heads, and let's just say our iTunes library is very, VERY happy. And here's one more thing that made this year's CMJ extra special- all the music was topped off with a jolt of killer, cant-wait-to-copy style. Whether it's camo, schoolgirl skirts, or a twisted new take on rock n'roll black, we've called out favorite fashionable acts to watch. See who made the cut below!

Kilo Kish

OK, so we're already in love with Kilo Kish's futuristic-sounding mashup of hip-hop, smoothly poetic vocals, and funky melodies on singles like "Navy" and "Watergun." But now that we've finally witnessed the Brooklyn musician (and Odd Future tourmate) working her magic live, consider us obsessed. She's got a style as unique as her sound, sporting hot pink lipstick on the regular and pairing an eclectic uniform of leather jackets and printed blouses with THE ultimate accessory- gorgeous wild hair. Her amazing style isn't a coincidence, either- she studied textile design at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology (!). Kilo put her fashion background to good use this weekend at the Fader Fort with an unexpected combo of pleats, oxfords, knee socks and a motorcycle topper. In other words, total proof that polished AND edgy don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive.

In case you were wondering, I remain seriously obsessed with many a Swedish sartorially slaying bubbly songstress cutie. See: arm-flailing-friendly dance-floor diva Robyn and her penchant for zanily patterned Jeremy Scott and platform Timbs and/or reigning fashion-y It Girl Lykke Li and her gothic-y ice princess lewks, most recently causing maje droolage whilst performing at a painfully chic Manhattan dinner for ACNE. *Nods head enthusiastically* But there's a new stylish Swede-y in town, and she comes in TWOS. *DEAD* Meet Aino and Caroline, the bananas-ly baffling UH.DUH.RAH.BLE musical BFF duo behind the dizzyingly addictive electro-pop outfit, Icona Pop. They basically make the kind of music that makes one itch for endless make-out seshs with foxy German boys at warehouse sea-punk raves that pump blaring techno from Friday evening into Monday morning. *Crickets* (ED NOTE: Alex's currently in Berlin.) If you haven't lost your mind to their much blogged-about pop anthem "Manners," in which I shout along "There is no one like me!", yet, WHACHA WAITING FOR? Then there's their latest perma-smize-inducing jam ("you're from the 70s, but I'm a '90s bitch!" lyrical genius + heavy wind-machine usage in the music vid = *faints*), "I Love It", from their forthcoming debut LP, and duh, you're gonna heart it hardcore. Better yet, Icona Pop's style game is on another indescribable level of UHMAZE (Dr. Martens, creamsicle lips, their lucky matching rock crystal necklaces, OH MY!) FYI: That'll be me schvitzing on my own in a tye-die tank at their June 22nd show at Glasslands. Until then, HAPPY FAVE THANGS FRIDAY. Go on, y'all. Let the obsession begin.

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
