Lydia Martin Holland Roden

Lydia Martin played by Holland Roden in 'Teen Wolf.'
Photo: MTV

It seems like no matter what kind of drama is unfolding in Beacon Hills (see: killing of innocent virgins, etc. etc.), Lydia Martin still always manages to bust out her fashion and beauty A-game. In tonight's episode of Teen Wolf, our favorite redhead showed off her signature girly style, but opted for something a little more on the preppy side--and we like it! But first, we MUST mention her impeccable no-makeup-makeup look in which she sports nothing but mascara and a little bit of foundation. #GODDESS For her hair, she pulled half her strands back in a perfectly-messy 'do.

Ah, the old cap and gown. If you're anything like we were back in those days, you spent all of high school, and who are we kidding, all of college too, counting down the days until you could put on that polyester robe and goofy mortarboard and strut your stuff straight to a diploma (and with it, freedom). Graduation is a huge deal, one of the most important things you'll ever achieve, and as such, it's an occasion that warrants a fly outfit. There are also SO. MANY. PHOTOS. taken on graduation day, that you want to make sure you won't have to hide your head in shame over something you wore. Here's the thing, though: you can't really see much underneath your gown, so aside from the lunch or dinner you have with your parents after it's all over, your dress doesn't actually make much of an impact. Your shoes, on the other hand, are everything. Whether you're into sneakers, heels, or flats, we found 15 pairs of kicks that will add just the right amount of pop to that gown.

Who doesn't love a classic wedge for a classic day.

There's a solid chance that your graduation, or at least some part of it, is taking place outside. The last thing you want are your shoes making you anxious by sinking into the grass on the football field, or, oof, tripping you up on your way to your diploma. Wedges are a solid, safe bet if a classic look and some height is what you're after. If you just want a tiny little boost,the ankle strap mini wedge from Madewell ($94.50) comes in a grip of super springy colors. If more height is what you're after, Marais USA's Firefly Wedge in Clambake ($160.00) is a super summery answer (that will perfectly match the classic Essie color of the same name). If you want something a little tougher, Dolce Vita's Mosey Platform Booties ($179.00) still give you the height, but add a little edge. If classic summer is more your look, J.Crew's Sardinia wedge espadrilles ($118.00) have that french seaside je ne sais quoi written all over them. Finally, if simple and bright is exactly what the doctor ordered, look no further than Seychelles Thyme Wedge Sandal ($95.00).

Jenna Lyons

You don’t have to be Imelda Marcos or Cinderella to appreciate why this isn't your ordinary news about shoes.

• According to J.Crew's queen supreme Jenna Lyons, there are two types of shoes: "Shiny Ponies" and "Ugly Dollies." A delicious behind-the-scenes video explains. {Racked National}

Obviously there is a shoe for every neighborhood in NYC. And whether or not you're a city dweller, this handy guide 1.) exists and 2.) is fantastically accurate. {Refinery 29}

Vans continues to dominate capsule collections by teaming up with Comme des Garçons. We're hoping that the shoe makes it stateside because it's just plain pretty. {Highsnobiety}

Ugg boots have never been completely immune to derision, but the folks at the Conservative Political Action Conference have some very specific thoughts about them. {The Cut}

• And finally, we are much obliged to share this public service announcement for all sneakerheads with Instagram shortcomings. {Complex}

J.Crew Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week presentation.
Photo: Getty Images

Virtually no one has taken the mixed print trend and run with it farther than J.Crew. Come at me with a competitor — I dare you. The Jenna Lyons/Mickey Drexler one-two sartorial punch has been wielding the pattern-heavy steez for season after season after season, and this morning's Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week presentation was no exception. With this collection, the brand is pushing their arsenal of prints, building on top of their go-to preppy brocade, houndstooth, and ditsy floral, adding nods to Moroccan zillij tiling, Turkish kilim rugs, and not shying away from the occasional animal print. The interesting part about this season, though, is that, with patterns being the new normal, J.Crew has seized this opportunity to make statements with solids. So much activity piled together begs for a moment of simplicity. Enter neon orange trousers. Or an over-sized clutch. Or a baby pink cable knit. Or classic point-toe pumps. get the idea.

Sasha Obama, Malia Obama, Michelle Obama

Sasha, Malia, and Michelle Obama settle in for 2013 Presidential Inauguration.

Happy Inauguration Day, America! If you're anything like us, you just watched President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony unfold in the heart of Washington D.C. with dramatic and star-studded performances from James Taylor, Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce. And while that was all happening, you couldn't help but stare at Sasha, Malia and Michelle Obama, admiring the impeccably dressed and color-coordinated Obama ladies and wondering where you might be able to cop such stately togs for yourself. Well, we have good news: we've started to identify the cool color palette coat ensembles worn by the fashionable first family!

Alright, so we all know that last night's election was really all about Barack Obama. And it should be! He IS the newly re-elected Commander in Chief, and all. But the President wasn't the only one killing it onstage in Chicago, since the girls in the family brought some serious fashion A-game. Michelle is already a style icon on her own, looking stunning per usual in Michael Kors — but if you ask us, we think Malia and Sasha deserve a shoutout of their own! Both clad in knee-length tulip skirts (shimmery blue for Malia, green printed for Sasha) and dark tops, the First Daughters worked these totally cute, totally holiday season-appropriate outfits perfectly. So can you really blame us for dying to copy them? Um, no way.

Looks from J.Crew's Spring 2013 New York Fashion Week presentation.
Photo: Getty Images

Can you believe it's only been a year now that fashion-forward retail giant J.Crew has been showing at New York Fashion Week? Yes, it's only been 365 days (well, roughly) since the Jenna Lyons/Mickey Drexler match-up made its Lincoln Center debut. (And though J.Crew has shown exclusively via presentation and not runway show thus far, that hasn't stopped MEGASTARS like Miss Beyonce Knowles) from showing support. And judging from the brand's marked evolution of the collections from season to season while still keeping true to the J.Crew signatures (namely excellent tailoring and a massive sucker punch of color), it's not hard to see why.

Better make room in your Bookmarks folder, because a serious stock of style has officially hit the internet. But before you roll your eyes, hear us out for a second: we're not talking about yet another fashion blog. Instead, our newest online obsession comes courtesy of one of our favorite brands. J.Crew has recruited street style shutterbugs Scott Schuman of The Sartoritalist and Garance Dore have scoured the globe for the coolest, most creative, and relatable dressers- and shot them all wearing, yep, J.Crew. It's all part of the retailer's newest campaign, called "Hello, World!," which documents the zillions of ways you can wear the label with a heavy dose of wardrobe inspiration on the side.

We've heard nonstop chatter about CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Joseph Altuzarra collaborating with J.Crew on a 7-piece capsule collection, and *GASP* it's finally here. The "Brigitte Bardot in Saint-Tropez"-inspired collection is filled with tons of summery nautical stripes and totally work-appropriate wear with a "hint of French sex appeal." I'll say! The line ranges between $85 and $345 and features tons of summery staples including sweaters, skirts, dresses and wedges. We're totally loving the '60s cat eye sunglasses and the comfy striped cotton dress ensemble in his first look. We could literally wear that every day and pray that our bouffant looked nearly as effortless as hers in the humid summer heat.

Music festival-ready outfits by Madewell.
Photo: Courtesy of Madewell

We may have waved "Adios!" to SXSW early last week, but the desert-dwelling Coachella is creeping around the corner and Bonnaroo will be sneaking up right behind it! Still putting your show-going outfits together? Madewell has your back. Looks like the J.Crew offshoot has created a section of "Music Festival Favorites" for their e-commerce site, and the product lineup is KAYOOT!
