Style has moved! come with us to mtv news »

Ah, the old cap and gown. If you're anything like we were back in those days, you spent all of high school, and who are we kidding, all of college too, counting down the days until you could put on that polyester robe and goofy mortarboard and strut your stuff straight to a diploma (and with it, freedom). Graduation is a huge deal, one of the most important things you'll ever achieve, and as such, it's an occasion that warrants a fly outfit. There are also SO. MANY. PHOTOS. taken on graduation day, that you want to make sure you won't have to hide your head in shame over something you wore. Here's the thing, though: you can't really see much underneath your gown, so aside from the lunch or dinner you have with your parents after it's all over, your dress doesn't actually make much of an impact. Your shoes, on the other hand, are everything. Whether you're into sneakers, heels, or flats, we found 15 pairs of kicks that will add just the right amount of pop to that gown.

Who doesn't love a classic wedge for a classic day.

There's a solid chance that your graduation, or at least some part of it, is taking place outside. The last thing you want are your shoes making you anxious by sinking into the grass on the football field, or, oof, tripping you up on your way to your diploma. Wedges are a solid, safe bet if a classic look and some height is what you're after. If you just want a tiny little boost, the ankle strap mini wedge from Madewell ($94.50) comes in a grip of super springy colors. If more height is what you're after, Marais USA's Firefly Wedge in Clambake ($160.00) is a super summery answer (that will perfectly match the classic Essie color of the same name). If you want something a little tougher, Dolce Vita's Mosey Platform Booties ($179.00) still give you the height, but add a little edge. If classic summer is more your look, J.Crew's Sardinia wedge espadrilles ($118.00) have that french seaside je ne sais quoi written all over them. Finally, if simple and bright is exactly what the doctor ordered, look no further than Seychelles Thyme Wedge Sandal ($95.00).

Hologram Clothing

Holograms rule.

Guys, spring is officially here, which means we are TOTALLY ready to swap out our all-black ensembles for something a little (OK, a lot) more colorful. Lucky for us, the fashion world's obsession with the '90s has shifted from earthy, grunge-inspired looks to futuristic late '90s/Y2K-era techy pieces in insanely fun fabrics—most notably, the holographic print. You know what we're talking about—that silver fabric with a hidden rainbow tint that everyone from TLC to the Spice Girls sported back in the day, and it's everywhere. We're not crazy, y'all—we've seen it on tees, bags, shoes and even nail polish, and we are SO into it! We're deeming it the must-have item this spring, and (thanks to us!) you can find out where to cop some holographic pieces right this second. Let's get to it!

As mid-October bids farewell to Indian Summer, it's safe to say that fall is HURR. This season is no stranger to multi-colored, geometric patterns, and with Dia De Los Muertos approaching (kinda) we couldn't help but round up some stand-out references to iconic prints inspired by ancient civilizations.

Exquisite Corpse Beaded Skulls
Our Exquisite Corpse worked with the Huichol people of Mexico to create beaded skulls, which represent a treasured piece of the Huichol culture. Each skull is handcrafted, uniquely patterned, and, ohher maiii, those defined jawlines!

We'll get a glimpse of how her sartorial daring inspired trends of today (and we're not just talking about how she fearlessly rocked a uni-brow).

Moda Operandi recently announced that it will be offering Mary Katrantzou's new capsule collection with contemporary line Current/Elliott. We're stoked that this collaboration mingles with Katrantzou's Spring 2013 runway show, where we saw pattern play inspire a bombtastic ode to the old world.

Taylor Swift Cat shoes

Taylor Swift loves her Charlotte Olympia cat shoes.
Photo: Splash News/Getty

Oh how we long for a pair of Charlotte Olympia cat flats. Oh how we need little whiskers adorning our toes, how we need a pink nose upon our feet. How can something so silly feel so essential? Maybe it's our well-hidden but omnipresent cat lady tendencies, or maybe it's just that they're freaking cute. You know who agrees with us? Taylor Swift. The pretty young thing has been seen sporting felines on her feet all over the world, and she's thoroughly convinced us that not only are these super cute shoes, well, super cute, but they're also totally practical. From wearing them out and about to bike riding through the streets of Paris while shooting her video for "Begin Again" off of her upcoming album Red (which comes out on October 22nd). We were totally taken over the edge, however, when Taylor showed up at the Radio One Teen Awards in London wearing a white a-line dress (not a surprise) with a pair of Charlotte Olympia satin cat face PUMPS. Now, we're all for a little whimsy and humor when it comes to your kicking around clothes, but on the red carpet? We were skeptical at first but it's a look that's really, seriously grown on it. We knew that the time had come to scour the internet for cat-face shoes of our own, both the exact same as Tay's and at other, more affordable price points.

liz lee ebay

First, can we just say we wish every online shopping experience included GIFs. Not only are they super fun, but they also show the clothes in action, which is super important and basically the thing that's missing when shopping online. Well, Liz Lee knows our pain, which is why she has given MTV Style exclusive gifs from her shoot for her eBay store (launched today!) The.Grays. She's selling everything from limited edition Black Milk bathing suits and leggings, vintage starter jackets (GET AT US), Jeffrey Campbells, vintage boots and denim, and TONS more. She will be adding items throughout the day, so keep checking back as more and more awesomeness goes up. Need even more incentive? A percentage of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the American Cancer Society in honor of Lee's grandfather Ron Trego. Sick new duds and good deeds? Co-Sign. See more exclusive gifs and hear more about the sale after the jump!

Fashion Bloggers high to low skirts

OK, fine. We'll admit it—we're running out of summer wardrobe ideas. We've done floral pants, we've done pleated skirts, and, yes, we've even done biker shorts. We've DONE. IT. ALL. After scouring through our closets mad with rage, we realized we just needed some inspiration, and the first place we thought of was, duh, fashion bloggers! After perusing some of our favorite sites, we realized that this whole high-to-low skirt thing is a super fresh and easy way to spice up any summer ensemble. It's like a maxi and a mini combined into one long, delicate piece of handiwork. Check out some of our favorite high-to-low finds below!

Jeffrey Campbell Black Milk

When it comes to shoes, you can never have too much of a good thing. Case in point: our current high heel go-to Jeffrey Campbell and its new collaboration with print-crazy clothing label Black Milk. We already know and love Jeffrey C. for its statement heels, the Litas. Sure, these sky-high laceups might not be the most practical shoes to run around town in, but hey- at least you know you'll look good doing it. And although the label is no stranger to awesome collaborations (it's joined forces with Wildfox and LF before), its latest coupling is a match made in high heel heaven.

Jeffrey Campbell's "Upend" and "Float" style shoes.
Photo: Courtesy of SoleStruck

Okay, maybe that headline is just the teensiest bit misleading, BUT what else would you call these latest Jeffrey Campbell offerings?? Those top ones, the "Upend," appear to be some kind of cousin to the oxford, and the bottom shoe, JC's "Float," appears, at first glance, to be a perspex sandal. They both have lucite heels, but by no means would I consider these "lucite heels." These shoes (one thing we know they are!!) inhabit in a strange classification limbo, caught in an unchartered middle ground between flats and heels/wedges, and we're not quite sure how we feel about it.

Jessie J, Rihanna

Boy London is officially back, y'all! The iconic graphic black and white collection started by Stephane Raynor in the '80s has made its return to the mainstream this year thanks to supporters like Jessie J and Rihanna. When RiRi was spotted on The Jonathan Ross Show in March sporting an entirely Boy London ensemble (and we mean ENTIRELY—she wore a hat, turtleneck, and skirt by the brand), her appearance alone boosted their sales 45 percent. Yeahhhh. Just last week Jessie J also wore a head-to-toe Boy London outfit but opted for an oversized sweatshirt and leggings ensemble instead. She dressed up her look with some spiked Jeffrey Campbell Litas (NEED) and bright crimson lips.

Dev Favorite Things

Photo: GL Wood

Remember that one time when the chorus of Far East Movement's "Like A G6" was the only thing you'd sing whilst self-exfoliating at home on a lonely Saturday night? Those were the days. *Sigh* Anywho, one inebriated evening circa 2010, I bolted/tripped over to the jukebox at my fave local suspicious-smelling gay dive faster than a frenetic pelvic thrust because I HAD to know the name, and then obvs the steeze, of the enigmatic, purring female serving it to the kids on the euphoric jam. The answer is now, obvs, Dev. First of all, 'Dev' is a bad-to-the-bone, Dev-ilish name, so fierce hand waves to that hotness, girl. But following much chin-scratching and a Google Image search via iPhone minutes later (which basically = a rad pompadour situation, a slew of tattoos and cuckoo kinds of bling) another (totes healthy) obsession was born. Nowadays, I'm driving the MTV Style office all sorts of "STFU!" cray as a result of my latest fave sang-it-loud-and-proud jam, "In My Trunk" from Dev's popgasm of a debut album, The Night The Sun Came Up. Sing it with me you guys: "I got that thump it's in mah trunk, it's in mah trunk…" The lyrics are basically >>>>> and Fergalicious. So, duh, I hit up Dev for this week's installment of Favorite Things. Homegirl e-mailed me a detailed map of her uhmazing tattoos (!!!) and more sartorial hot sauce, so if you hear me shrieking profanities and/or catch the sound of "In The Dark" lyrics echoing across St. Mark's today after work, don't be alarmed... I'm just wearing my <3 (inspired by Dev) on my sleeve. #NoPainNoStyleGain

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
