With her piercing blue eyes and soft features, Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette (wait, did you think I was talking about a person?) has always seemed like she could be a model, but now it's official. Choupette will be the new face of a holiday capsule collection for cosmetic brand Shu Uemura. The collection's name? Shupette. I know—perfection. This marks the first time an animal has teamed up with a beauty brand, confirming what we already knew: Choupette is the most powerful cat in fashion. After all, she's already inspired a capsule collection of accessories that included fingerless gloves, purses, and, of course, iPad cases—a nod to her favorite device to play with. Plus she has more Twitter followers than most human beings.
Short hair, really don't care.

The short hair club has a new inductee, y'all! Please welcome Ms. Kristen Stewart to the group—she debuted her cropped 'do earlier today at the Chanel Haute Couture show in Paris. The bright red hue that once was is back to orange, but there's, like, eight inches less of it and it looks good. Like, really good. K-Stew can still do her trademark hair swoop, so everything she needs for a good hair day is still there—don't worry.
Pull up a chair and break out a fan, you guys. New Balance and Karl Lagerfeld are going to court! The footwear company has filed a lawsuit against the Chanel and Fendi mastermind for "intellectual property rights related to [their] iconic Lifestyle footwear designs." And they're not the only one who feel that Uncle Karl might've stepped on some toes in this sneaker war. Fashion blogger SHEFinds noted the similarities a few months ago.

When we heard that Kristen Stewart was going to be the face of Chanel's Métiers d'Art Paris-Dallas collection back in December, we were both excited and skeptical. Kristen and Karl Lagerfeld joining forces = yay! K.Stew and Uncle Karl joining forces for a rodeo-inspired line of clothing = huh? Sure, Kristen loves her leather and denim, but she doesn't exactly give off dude-ranch ~cowgirl~ vibes. But we decided to trust Karl's decision, and assuming the photos that leaked on Instagram are the real deal, we were right to do so. (Oh Karl, you never lead us astray.)
Karl Lagerfeld loves emojis.

In case you missed the marriage of everyone's favorite two things (emojis and Karl Lagerfeld), Karl designed a set of emojis to coincide with the launch of his fragrance line. The app, which you can download now, is called emotiKARL and contains Karl-approved emojis, like various hands with fingerless leather gloves, the many emotions of Choupette, perfume bottles, and more. Since I have read, cherished, and savored a vast number of Karl interviews in my life, I am fairly confident I have an idea of how his emoji proposal meeting went down. Here is my fictional account of the meeting in our latest installation of Fashion Fanfic.
NB: In honor of Karl, I originally wrote this story in French. I have since translated it to English, though, so you don't have to.
Beyonce and Rita Ora go head-to-head.

Given Beyonce and Rita Ora’s penchant for up-and-coming designers, and their masterful ability to pull off both quirky streetwear and red carpet glitz, it’s somewhat amazing that they haven’t stepped out wearing the same thing more than twice. The first look they shared was Norma Kamali’s logo-emblazoned motocross outfit, which Bey wore in the video for “Pretty Hurts.” Now they’re both repping Karl Lagerfeld’s tartan biker jacket.

Last night, at a rodeo-inspired Chanel runway show, Kristen Stewart was named the new face of Chanel, with a campaign landing in the spring of 2014. If none of the words in the preceding sentence made sense (Chanel, rodeo, Kristen Stewart), lemme explain.
Every year, Karl Lagerfeld hosts a Chanel Métiers d'Art presentation, which is a collection of pieces between the fall and spring seasons. This has taken place all over the globe. In the past, the show has occurred in Scotland, Toyko, and Bombay. This year, however, Karl opted for the slightly less-exotic city of Dallas, Texas, to show his Americana-inspired collection, proof that people will go wherever Karl Lagerfeld tells them to go. The rodeo-ready collection is heavy on fringe, tiered skirts, and denim—three design elements that don't appear often in Chanel offerings (though sometimes things happen). Kristen Stewart, fan of sheer jumpsuits, will be the face of this collection.
Rita Ora for 'Liberation.'

Rita Ora is the kind of woman who wears many, many hats (and we mean that both figuratively and literally). Figuratively, we've seen the British pop star moonlight as a model, a makeup designer and an all-around fashion fixture in the last few months alone. Literally, she also has an extensive, ever-growing collection of lux headgear. Like this rabbit-ear headband, for example. And this House of Holland metallic snap-back. And this ~very~ memorable, diamond-encrusted, antler-horned hat-mask hybrid, which we first spotted several weeks back—and now, has finally re-materialized on the cover of Libération.
OK we get it, you guys are BFFs.

Hold the phone. Did Rita Ora nab a Chanel campaign?! All signs on the singer’s Instagram point to probably. Either that, or running around Paris at midnight in head-to-toe Chanel is Karl Lagerfeld’s idea of a girls’ night out. Wait. IS that Karl Lagerfeld's idea of a girls' night out? Honestly, IDK exactly what is happening in these photos, but I do know that I want to go there.
Ora posted a TON of snaps from a midnight photoshoot in Paris this weekend, and regardless of what is actually happening, I think we're all pretty much dying to see what kind of lux friendship bracelets she and Uncle Karl have—because they are clearly BFFs now. “Taking a midnight stroll with the man who inspires me to be glamorous at all times without a hint of doubt. Love you uncle Karl," Ora captioned a particularly cozy photo. Move over, Cara. Oh, wait. There’s room for you, too, under this scaffolding. *wipes brow*
