Sure, the Oscars are glamorous and esteemed and a major cultural moment, but I think I'd rather attend an Oscars after-party than the ceremony itself. The casual atmosphere of the post-show bashes is way less "I'd like to thank the Academy" and way more (to quote Matthew McConaughey), "Alright, alright, alriiiiight." We saw some pretty amazing looks on the red carpet last night for sure, but the parties brought out some new fashions that totally reflected the more fun phase of the evening. Check out some of our faves:

After winning big last night, Lupita swapped out her princess Prada gown for this flirty Miu Miu dress. The sea foam fringe and buckled straps reminded us of a day spent at the beach—the perfect image for a first-time Oscar winner. Lupita held onto the same jewelry she wore at the ceremony and clutched her new statuette for the entire night (totally what I would do, too).

And the Oscar for the Best Dress at the 2014 Academy Awards goes to... Ugh, bear with me. This seal is stuck. Man, this thing is REALLY on there. Does anyone happen to have, like, an envelope opener or something? I JUST got this mani and really don't want to ruin my nails. Anybody? Bueller? OK, well, in that case, we're just going to have to give you our top 10 because TBH, we didn't want to pick a favorite anyway.

OHHH, LUPITA. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways! JK, nobody has time for that (our list is LONG). But seriously, we are obsessed with Nyongo's "Nairobi blue," deep-V custom Prada gown. Paired with a delicate gold Fred Leighton headband, diamond leaflet earrings, and her adorable "family totem" frog-shaped ring, the Best Supporting Actress winner proved, yet again, why she's fashion AND film's newest "It" Girl. She just. Can't. Lose.

Just when we thought we couldn't love a gown on Kate Hudson more than that slinky, yellow satin number she wore at the end of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (GAH. SO GOOD!), she swoops in from left field with this beaded, belly-grazing Atelier Versace gown, complete with shrouded cape.

Glamour magazine's Annual Women of the Year Awards were held last night honor 24 remarkable women — from entertainers like Cher (who scooped up the Lifetime Achievement Award), to humanitarians like Queen Rania of Jordan. What we discovered? Not only do these women have amazing accomplishments, they also have amazing wardrobes. Here are our favorite looks.

Fergie is on fire with this red dress! The Black Eyed Peas singer and shoe designer gave a tearful acceptance speech for her award, and wore a floor-length, one shoulder Zac Posen gown and matching pumps. She radiated true glamor, and for that she's best dressed.

The evening's performer, Janelle Monae, rocked her signature cape and pompadour, but she was also giving us something new—hot pink lips that REALLY popped against her all-black ensemble.

The consensus was that Cher, who took home the final award of the evening (the Lifetime Achievement Award), inspired the audience with her acceptance speech. For us, though, the "ROCK" pin that she wore on a leather biker jacket made a statement of it's own.

Estelle sparkled (literally) in black, glittery shoes, which she paired with a one-shoulder gown and an equally shimmery clutch.

Presenter Kelly Osbourne (master of hair transformations) took a cue from Janelle Monae by pinning her hair up into a chignon/pompadour that looked retro-cute with her brow-skimming bangs.

Singer/songwriter Alexa Ray Joel's brunette strands always look great — shiny, thick, healthy. But, the added curl and side-pullover gave them added oomph.

Janet Jackson teamed up with Hilary Swank to present an award to fashion designer Donatella Versace. The trio looked great on stage, but all we could focus on were Janet's long, luscious lashes. Swoon!

Kate Hudson presented the award to Fergie wearing a shimmering champagne Lanvin gown with metallic gold leather pumps. Her retro waves swept over one shoulder and classic red lips totally transported us to a forties jazz club.

September is the one of the most important months of the year for fashion magazines. That's why we're so pleased to see MTV star Kristin Cavallari land on the cover of Pittsburgh-based Maniac magazine's September fashion issue! While on the cover she posed in a black halter romper, inside she wore colorful floaty pieces (see all of the photos below). She also told the magazine about plans to launch an affordable shoe line next spring: "Not all of my fans can afford $900 Louboutins," she said. The only thing that's a little weird is how she's sitting pretty with the word Maniac scrawled in big, bold letters over her head. But that's what you get when the magazine is named that, anyway.

Madonna on daughter Lourdes Leon's style: "She's also worked in the wardrobe department on some of my tours. I love the way she puts different things together that are sometimes unexpected. She's the fashion police at our house and has a point of view on what everyone is wearing. I'm not saying we agree on everything but we enjoy collaborating together." {USA Today}
