Yeah, yeah, we know New York Fashion Week is officially over, but we needed a FULL weekend of recovery before we dove in and picked out the top nail art looks from all the shows—and it also happens to be Manicure Monday. (How perfect!) We have to admit, though, that this year we definitely saw designs of a whole different variety. Sure, we peeped some straight-up half moon manis (Peter Som!) and glitter gradients (Nicole Miller!), but overall we were incredibly impressed with how much designers were willing to experiment with their tips. From mechanical 3D nails to purposely-imperfect manis, we found 10 shows that totally took nail art to the next level. Check 'em out below!

OK, this image alone speaks volumes about the diversity of nail designs The Blonds had in just ONE NYFW show. Their Tweety Bird-inspired collection certainly included some on-theme bright yellow designs, but they also incorporated clear acrylics and—get this—a mechanical accent nail that came with a clear hinged door (top right). UH HUH, you can thank CND for that lovely creation.
Hot diggity dog!

Of all the cookout foods-turned-clothes in the game right now (LOL thinking about there really being a game for that), hot dogs might be the most underrated. Sure, burgers are, like, KING in that space (fast food pun unintended, seriously), but we want to take this Friday to give the frank a little shine. It's meat in a tube + a bed of bread + a pile of whatever condiments you're feeling at the moment. It's a low maintenance cruise ship of sustenance that is also tasty and relatively pretty easy to eat. It's AWESOME, OK? Thus, we scoured the interwebz for things to help us wear our hot dog-loving hearts on our sleeves (literally) and properly pay homage to the frank.
Kate Spade Saturday awesomeness.

Commence freaking out, y'all—Kate Spade's brand new lower-priced line Saturday JUST hit the interwebs, and we can barely handle it. Imagine Kate Spade's love for bold color mixed with mod patterns and graphic shapes plastered on everything from shift dresses to iPhone cases to teapots. Yeah, they're doing it all, you guys. If you can get past their gorge, bright yellow and black easy-to-navigate site, you'll see that they have tons of to-die-for products that we need in our lives ASAP--in fact, we already picked out our top 5 favorite things so you don't have to do all digging. I know, I know, we're sooo nice, right?
Sasha, Malia, and Michelle Obama settle in for 2013 Presidential Inauguration.

Happy Inauguration Day, America! If you're anything like us, you just watched President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony unfold in the heart of Washington D.C. with dramatic and star-studded performances from James Taylor, Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce. And while that was all happening, you couldn't help but stare at Sasha, Malia and Michelle Obama, admiring the impeccably dressed and color-coordinated Obama ladies and wondering where you might be able to cop such stately togs for yourself. Well, we have good news: we've started to identify the cool color palette coat ensembles worn by the fashionable first family!
When New York Fashion Week and nail art combine, beauty is BOUND to happen, and at the spring 2013 shows we couldn't get enough of all the killer designs! From out-of-this-world 3D nail art to subtle stained tips, there was certainly no shortage of mini masterpieces to be found on the runway. We narrowed down our top 10 favorite designs, so take a peek at all the stellar nail art below!

The Blonds certainly glam it up for their runway ensembles, so of course they needed top-notch nails to match! While the models all wore different nail designs, we personally liked this new approach to the traditional caviar manicure. The red pearls are placed delicately down the center of the nail for an avant-garde take on the trend. (Also, PLEASE don't forget to take a peek at Phillipe Blond's tips. Like, we're gonna need our face painted our nails ASAP. Kthxbi.)
You've probably seen the clothes, the hair, and the makeup from all the fall 2012 NYFW shows by now, but have you seen the nails? Even if you were front row, it'd be hard to spot nail art on the fierce fast-paced models. Luckily, we found beautiful, up-close shots of the best tips from backstage, on Twitter, and everywhere in between. Check out the hottest fashion week nail designs below, and don't blame us if you get inspired to purchase some new polish immediately after reading this.
NEON RAVER NAILS

The fall season didn't stop designers from sending neon-tipped models down the runway. We spotted so many fun and bright rainbow-colored nail designs that took us straight back to the '90s raver days, and we especially loved the hand-done swirl design at Nicole Miller! The Blonds showcased a glittery hodgepodge of hot pink, blue and white nails with tiny tattoo designs, and Jeremy Scott went for colorful 3D nail stickers that remind us of Candy Buttons. Mmmmm.
FredFlare Festive Christmas Tree Hat and Yokoo Peppermint Chain Scarf.

OK, we know you're probably in crazy holiday mode at the mo', trying to get last-minute shopping done, rushing around gathering ingredients for a festive meal, or still looking for the perfect party outfit. (And also doing your best not to think about New Year's Eve prep next week. Eesh!) Sometimes we get lost in the frantic frenzy that is The Holiday Season and forget that we're supposed to, you know, HAVE FUN. So, what's the easiest way to look like you're in the spirit even when you miiiiight not be there emotionally just yet and wish you could curl up with some eggnog and a repeat viewing of The Holiday? Throw on an accessory that screams holiday. Not only will this put you in the mood for gathering around the hearth in your most Christmas-y of Christmas sweaters, but it will show everyone else that you're totally down with the yuletide cheer. To put it simply, these accessories do the work for you.
Take this FredFlare Festive Christmas Tree Hat ($24.99) for instance. It's the alternative to the Christmas sweater! Aside from being a full-time resident of Holiday 'Dorbsville (a place where holiday lights flash all year-round and mistletoe grows like errant bamboo), this hat fulfills all of your I'm-wearing-festive-attire needs. We think it's perfect for when you need to say, "This festive Christmas hat with a star on top proves that I'm completely participating in this Christmas caroling right now, even though it looks like just my lips are moving and no sound is coming out." We're also digging this Peppermint Chain Scarf ($90) from Etsy sensation Yokoo. It's a chain, it's a scarf, it's a total style statement in candy cane colors. Doesn't Yokoo's expression say it all? But wait! There's more...

Now that Halloween has passed, the growing chill in the air is a constant reminder of the impending holiday season! Along with exorbitant amounts of food (which may sometimes bring about a sudden albeit fleeting urge to reevaluate the style merits of elastic waistbands), it signals a lot of upcoming merry-making. From cocktail parties to ugly sweater soirees to ushering in the New Year, you'll need to secure yourself more than a few party-ready frocks. One of our favorite looks of the season and an always appropriate holiday staple is the sequined party dress and we found three ladies who wear it well!
Taylor Swift on the cover of the August 2011 'Teen Vogue.'
All Photos Courtesy of Teen Vogue
There is something going on with this Teen Vogue spread of Taylor Swift that is just so flawless, so completely ideal, that if we never saw Taylor on the cover of a magazine again, we'd be OK. It's not that we don't want Taylor to never be a cover girl again, but this moment that Teen Vogue captured is so idyllic, such unbridled adolescence, soooooo nostalgic that we want this to be ingrained in our brainses forever.
What we've got here is a real-deal magazine cover from 1992. This is the stuff we used to steal from our older sisters. Look at Tay's hair: gently frizzy, atop a porcelain complexion and dark, nonlined lips. Then, below, we are treated to a cashmere-blend shirt with a boatneck, showing off just a hint of bling. Taylor Swift: On this cover, you are the most beautiful babysitter we have ever had.

You don't have to be into the classics to appreciate these cute clutches. Kate Spade recently launched her Book of the Month Clutch ($325, katespade.com) for accessory addicts, and last night Natalie Portman was spotted toting "Lolita," a green cover book/clutch made by Olympia Le-Tan to the New York City premiere of Black Swan, the movie she stars in with Mila Kunis. We love these clever carryalls because they are the perfect size for stashing all of our essentials—lipstick, cell phone, iPod, money, and those geeky-chic glasses that we used to have to wear to look all smart and literary.
