Hollywood's leading ladies pulled out their hottest garments for the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards show last night. While color (and lots of it!) was a common thread throughout the night, we also spotted stars working other fierce trends, including belted gowns, sexy slits, and smoky eyes.

BELTED BEAUTIES: Lea Michele got high marks in a low-cut silver sequined Oscar de La Renta dress, which she wore with with a skinny gold belt. Claire Danes wore a billowing floral strapless gown by Marc Jacobs. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence looked pretty in pink thanks to her wrapped and belted Oscar De La Renta number.

THIGH-HIGH SLITS: For Sofia Vergara (in neon blue Roberto Cavalli), Rosario Dawson (in sherbert yellow J. Mendel), and Jayma Mays (in soft peach Jenny Packham), their sheaths were just as important as their shoes. Each of the celeb's dress featured a slit to THERE—all the better to show off their strappy peep toes with.

FIERY FROCKS: While the Golden Globes were awash in green (remember?), the SAGs were all about red and orange. Newcomer Hailee Steinfeld looked modern and chic in a striped Prada dress. Sarah Hyland rocked a blazing waist-knotted Max Mara dress. And Mila Kunis was also on trend in a flowy Alexander McQueen strapless number.

SMOLDERING EYES: Natalie Portman, Christina Hendricks and Dianna Agron all sported their own take on the smoky eye look. Natalie kept hers soft and subtle by using brown and taupe eye shadows; Christina used traditional shadow shades of silver, gray, and slate liner; and Dianna emphasized the line around her eyes to create a cat-eye effect.

Honeysuckle may be the cool new hue for 2011, but pink, green, beige, blue, red, and black stole the color show (if only momentarily) at Sunday’s Golden Globes Awards. Which shade was your fave?

PRETTY IN PINK: Claire Danes, who scooped up a Golden Globe, wore a bright pink Calvin Klein halter dress, while Natalie Portman (in Viktor & Rolf), Emma Stone (in Calvin Klein), and Lea Michele (in Oscar de la Renta), chose softer shades of pink.

EMERALD CITY: It was a green scene on the red carpet with Elisabeth Moss (appropriate last name!) in a Donna Karan forest-hued strapless dress, and Catherine Zeta-Jones in Monique Lhuillier. Angelina Jolie rocked a sparkly Versace dress, while Mila Kunis picked the perfect shade of green (in a Vera Wang dress) for her skin tone.

BEIGE BEAUTIES: The beiges worn by Scarlett Johansson, Michelle Williams, Sarah Hyland, and Dianna Agron were FAR from boring. Scarlett wore a sheer/lacy Elie Saab number, while Michelle wore a daisy-covered Valentino dress. Sarah Hyland and Dianna Agron went for strapless silhouettes in Max Azria Atelier and J. Mendel, respectively.

SEA OF BLUE: Jenna Ushkowitz (in Rebecca Taylor), Mandy Moore (in a colbat single-shoulder dress), and Amy Adams (in Marchesa) stayed true in gorgeous shades of blue.

LADIES IN RED: Sofia Vergara (in Vera Wang), Christina Hendricks (in Romona Keveza), and January Jones (in Versace) sizzled—not only were their gowns red hot but they were body-con, too.

BEAUTIFUL IN BLACK: Jennifer Lawrence (in Louis Vuitton), Jayma Mays (in Alberta Ferretti), Piper Perabo (in Oscar de la Renta), and Julia Stiles (in a single-shoulder ruffled dress) stuck with the classics—it's hard to go wrong with a bold, elegant dark gown.

It's no secret that we're suckers for red carpet fashions—we just love seeing our favorite celebs get glammed up for a big night out (OK, confession...we secretly envision ourselves walking the red carpet in their ensembles). This year we saw hundreds of gorgeous red carpet looks, but a few of them were especially stunning, like Blake Lively's red hot Chanel outfit and the floor-length gold gown Heather Morris rocked at the Emmy Awards in August. Here they are, plus eight other red carpet winners from the past year.

ANNA KENDRICK: Twilight star Anna Kendrick opted for a violet Alberta Ferretti gown for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January. The floor-length dress had a bustier top and feathery skirt. Anna added simplistic glamour to the garment by sweeping her hair back into an elegant up 'do.

BLAKE LIVELY: Blake Lively wore Chanel (one of her favorite designers) to the premiere of The Town at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. The actress, who just landed a campaign with the famed French fashion house, chose a sparkly red shift with funky feather details. She stuck to the script with matching pumps and lipstick.

CAMILLA BELLE: Actress-turned-model Camilla Belle wowed us at the Cannes Film Festival in a decadent navy dress from the Gucci Premiere capsule collection. The floor-length frock had a thigh-high slit and a pretty embellished chest strap. To top it off Camilla went for old Hollywood glamour with bright red lipstick and a chic swept back 'do.

EMMA STONE: Pre-blonde makeover, Emma Stone looked elegant in a strapless black dress at the 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Aside from the pockets, we especially liked the way the shift's slit opened to reveal funky, strappy sandals. The whole look popped, thanks to Emma's green earrings and red lipstick.

FERGIE: They say that red is a "power" color, and Fergie certainly looked powerful—and sexy—in her one-shoulder Zac Posen dress at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards. The singer chose matching red pumps to finish the hear-me-roar look.

HEATHER MORRIS: Glee star Heather Morris sported a floor-length gown by Ina Soltani for the Emmy Awards in August. The dramatic column dress was one of our favorite looks of the awards show, and we loved how Heather kept her accessories simple with just a bracelet by Kwiat.

JESSICA ALBA: For the Los Angeles screening of Machete, Jessica Alba wore a black and gold sparkly Balmain dress with a fun zig-zag pattern. She paired the dazzling mini with Anndra Neen jewelry and bold, stiletto sandals.

KERI HILSON Beige was one of this year's hottest colors, and Keri Hilson rocked it beautifully at the Grammy Awards in January, wearing a strapless Dolce & Gabbana mermaid gown that had a sparkly crystal waist band.

LEA MICHELE: The strapless Oscar de la Renta gown that Lea Michele picked for August's Emmy Awards, had a sweetheart neckline and lots of pretty ruffle details all along the voluminous skirt. And check out that bling around her neck!!

ROBERT PATTINSON: Our favorite leading ladies weren't the only ones to grab our attention on the red carpet this year. Heartthrob Robert Pattinson rocked a maroon Gucci suit for the premiere of Twilight Saga: Eclipse on June 24 in Los Angeles. It suited (pun intended) the actor perfectly, and the thin gray tie added a sexy finish.

When it came to locks, this was the year of experimentation for our favorite celebs. Emma Watson did the BIG CHOP, Lady Gaga went gray, and Willow Smith whipped her hair. And once they did it, we all followed suit!

TOP KNOTS: It's no wonder star after star, including Vanessa Hudgens, Whitney Port, and Lea Michele, adopted this ballerina style as their own. The high bun is quick and easy to do, it's completely chic, and it gives tired eyes an instant lift. What more could you ask for in a hairstyle?

RAINBOW BRIGHTS: From cherry red (like Rihanna) to berry blue (like Katy Perry) instead of drinking the Kool-Aid, stars looked like they were dumping it on their heads. The overdose of color was shocking, yes, but oh so fun!

Clockwise from top left: Rihanna at an after party in Hollywood on July 21, Katy Perry at the MTV Movie Awards in Universal City on June 6, Nicki Minaj at BET Studios in New York on Nov. 22, and Lady Gaga performing during her Monster Ball Tour in Charlotte, N.C., on Sept. 18.

OMBRE: Celebs such as Rachel Bilson and Lauren Conrad were able to rock their roots confidently thanks to this dye do. The low-maintenance look featured long, dark roots that lightened to a sun-kissed hue at the ends.

Clockwise from top left: Rachel Bilson at a Chanel event in L.A. on Nov. 13, Ashlee Simpson at the BCBG Max Azria Spring 2011 fashion show in New York on Sept. 10, Lauren Conrad at Barnes & Noble in Fairless Hills, Penn., on March 28, and Drew Barrymore at the 'Late Show With David Letterman' in New York on Aug. 24.

FUNKY STRANDS: Necklaces and bracelets took a backseat to "hair accessories," like Katy Perry's pink and blue highlights, Beyoncé's glitter strands, and M.I.A's colorful ombré do.

GRAY HAIR: While others hunted down and plucked renegade gray strands, Kelly Osbourne, Lady Gaga, and Pink embraced their gray 'dos (dyed, of course!).

CHOPPED: At one point it seemed like an epidemic—long-haired celebs lopping off their locks in favor of short pixies and bobs. We all speculated why stars like Emma Watson would go short (for a role? to rebel?). Then we realized it didn't matter because their new dos looked hot!

Clockwise from top left: Keira Knightley at a 'Last Night' party in Rome on Oct. 28, Ashlee Simpson at a Decade Denim launch in Beverly Hills on Nov. 2, Scarlett Johansson at the Mango Fashion Awards in Barcelona on Oct. 20, and Emma Watson 'Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows' premiere in London on Nov. 11.

ADD-ONS: From skinny headbands and sparkly barrettes, to big-and-bright bows, seeing celebs in standout hair accessories made us feel like kids again.

BRAIDS: Year after year, braids make it onto "best of" lists. And while this year was no different, there were some plait styles that took center stage—Whitney Port's hairline braids, Kim Kardashian's fishtail braids, and Heather Morris' milkmaid braid.

WILLOW SMITH'S WHIP-WORTHY STRANDS: With the release of Willow Smith's hit single "Whip My Hair," the punky 10-year-old's grown-up fashion sense (and her myriad of hairstyles) was thrust into the spotlight. And she became the cool little sister we all wish we had.

POMPS: We know exactly where Snooki's hair bump went...Kelly Osbourne, Ke$ha, Janelle Monae and Rihanna borrowed it, rocking their own versions of the high style.

Soon the ball will drop on 2010 and we'll ring in a brand spankin' new year full of menswear-inspired trousers and honeysuckle-colored blouses (so say the trend forecasters). But before "old acquaintance be forgot" we'd like to take you back—back to the fashion and beauty moments of 2010 that made us smile (Rihanna's red hot hair), laugh (Katy Perry's snowman performance ensemble), and say to ourselves "WTF?!" (Lady Gaga's meat dress).

First up? Top trends. From the mono-shoulder to tutu ensembles, these were the looks that we spotted over, and over...AND OVER again. But, you know what? We never got tired of seeing them reincarnated to fit different celebrities' unique personalities.

CUT OUT DRESSES: Walking around in torn clothes used to be uncouth. In 2010, however, wearing a slashed, Zoro-treated dress, like those ofRoxy Olin, Leighton Meester, AnnaLynne McCord and Audrina Patridge, looked sexy and fresh.

Roxy Olin at the Fashion Fighting for the Cure party in New York on Oct. 6, Leighton Meester at Fashion's Night Out in New York on Sept. 7, AnnaLynne McCord at the AFM party in Santa Monica, Calif., on Nov. 5, and Audrina Patridge at 'The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending' finale event held in Hollywood on July 13.

LACE: The dainty, vintage-y fabric showed up in all kinds of hues, from the more traditional whites and creams that Lauren Conrad and Taylor Swift wore, to the red carpet-matching crimson Michelle Williams wore.

Lauren Conrad at Barnes & Noble in New York on Oct. 5., Michelle Williams at the 'Blue Valentine' premiere in London on Oct. 15, and Taylor Swift at BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards 2010 in London on Nov. 14.

LEOPARD: From Keri Hilson's casual-cool blouse and Rachel Bilson's shoulder-showing gown, to Rihanna's fitted top and pencil skirt combo, animal prints turned basic pieces fierce.

Keri Hilson at the 'So Kodak' launch in New York on Oct. 5, Rachel Bilson at a Roberto Cavalli party in Paris on Sept. 29, and Rihanna in Dublin on May 25.

ONE-SHOULDER: It's no wonder TONS of celebs, including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Kristen Stewart and Miley Cyrus, bared arms in single-strap dresses and jumpers—the one-shoulder silhouette is easier to wear than strapless frocks and just as gorgeous.

Rihanna at an after-party in Hollywood on July 21, Kim Kardashian at the Teen Choice Awards in Universal City on Aug. 8, Kristen Stewart at a 'Welcome To The Rileys' screening in New York on Oct. 18, and Miley Cyrus at 'The Last Song' premiere in Los Angeles on March 25.

SHEER: Stealing the spotlight was a cinch for Kristen Stewart, Florence Welch and Stephanie Pratt, who were just a handful of stars who strategically showed some skin in partially see-through sheaths.

TUTUS: These full-bodied mini-skirts weren't just for ballerina's and three-year-olds. While Rihanna and Christina Ricci attended parties and benefits in the girly getup, Katy Perry performed in tutus...more than once!

PRINTS AND PATTERNS: Many stars, like Lea Michele, Whitney Port, and Keira Knightley, shelved their monochromatic looks for fun florals, mixed graphics and poppy mosaics.

SEQUINS: It didn't matter if they were gold, silver, or bronze, stars (including Amanda Michalka and Audrina Patridge) who wore glam sequins cocktail dresses were all winners.

Amanda Michalka at the 'Secretariat' premiere in Hollywood on Sept. 30 and Audrina Patridge at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards in Universal City on June 6.

BEIGE: Beige used to be boring. Not anymore! Mila Kunis and Olivia Wilde wore glamorous gowns in the hue, while Blake Lively and Frieda Pinto made the shade fun and flirty.

Mila Kunis at the 'Black Swan' premiere in New York on Nov. 30, 2010, Blake Lively at the Lorraine Schwartz '2BHAPPY' launch in New York on Nov. 22, Freida Pinto at the 'Miral' photocall in London on Oct. 18, and Olivia Wilde at the Resnick Pavilion opening in Los Angeles on Sept. 25.

UNDERSTATED SEXY: Finding the perfect balance between bum and rico-suave became the goal of guys in Hollywood. With just the right amount of wrinkle in their suits and looseness in their ties, Alexander Skarsgard, Andrew Garfield, and Jake Gyllenhaal were just a few of the MANY stars to pull it off perfectly.

One thing that SO MANY of the celebs who attended the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards on Dec. 12 had in common was the length of their dresses. The somewhat off-the-radar awards show, sponsored by Hollywood Life, The Palazzo Las Vegas, Klipsch, and FRS Healthy Energy, sets out to honor film and TV fashion each year. But, seriously, did a memo go out about ankle-length frocks?! Either way, we loved how the floor-sweeping gowns that stars such as Lea Michele and Kate Bosworth chose looked both low-key and glamorous at the same time. Here are our faves of the night...

We ADORE the pockets on Kate Bosworth's pale green and white Jil Sander T-shirt dress—they make it look even more easy-breezy.

Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory skipped jewelry for the night. She didn't need it—her elegant shoulder-revealing Oday Shakar dress provided more than enough sparkle.

And...this might just be the most popular Reem Acra dress of them all! Krysten Ritter, Anna Kendrick, and Emma Roberts all wore versions of the strapless, V-neckline shift to various evening events. Krysten Ritter—who rocked our favorite version of this frock—picked a sparkly silver version for the GQ 2010 "Men of the Year" party in Los Angeles on Nov. 17. Anna Kendrick chose the mini in teal for an ELLE party in Beverly Hills in October and kept the look low-key, by wearing her hair down and pairing the garment with basic bronze pumps. Meanwhile, Emma Roberts wore a sapphire blue version of the dress to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Hollywood in March, accessorizing the shift with a bold, colorful necklace.

Matthew Morrison, who plays the buttoned-up music teacher on Glee, is the show's most recent star to show some skin on a magazine cover this year (remember the November 2010 GQ cover that featured Lea Michele, Dianna Agron, and Cory Monteith?). Sure, we like the "Mr. Schuster look" — gray-patterned tie, striped dress shirt, black slacks, and sleek leather jacket — that Morrison channeled at the In Add Minus store launch on Nov. 18. But we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the less-is-more approach the actor took on the cover of the December 2010 issue of Details magazine.

Lea Michele has a new favorite designer! The Glee star wore British label Erdem's colorful, patterned pieces for three red carpet appearances. Most recently, she wore a long-sleeved, colorful Erdem dress to a TV Guide magazine party in Hollywood on Monday. Erdem is designed by 30-year-old Erdem Moralioglu, who is one of Britain's hottest young talents. Earlier this year, the London-based designer received the British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, an award established to help rising designers build their businesses. With the support of Lea Michele and a host of other celebrities, including Sienna Miller, Keira Knightley, and Ashley Olsen, Erdem is well on his way.
