If there's one name you need to get to know in the world of accessories, it's Amanda Thomas of Luv Aj. The LA-based designer creates heavy metal (literally) jewelry that has been worn and loved by everyone from Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea to Rachel Bilson and Vanessa Hudgens. The mix n' match pieces are made of both pristine and worn-looking antique metals and include everything from criss-crossed studs, layered necklaces, and giant perforated cuffs to body chains and turbans. To put it mildly, these are accessories for your inner badass annnnd we pretty much want every single piece in the collection. Thus, we spoke to Thomas about her accessory heroes, how she sold her first collection in college, and just how to wear a body chain.

It's hard to forget Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. One glance at her waist-long blonde hair, bold red lips and fierce cat-eye, and her badass vixen look will forever be ingrained in your memory. For Complex's 10th anniversary issue (featuring the amazeball duel covers with Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber), Iggy opened up about her super sexualized style (see: her "My World" music video), all while showing off her stellar bod in some RIDIC swimsuits. In her first look, she sports a plunging (like, past the belly button plunging) gold Ashley Paige one-piece with super high-cut sides paired with a Luv Aj gold chain necklace. If you can tear your eyes away from everything that's happening here, you'll notice her matching gold eye shadow, thick liquid liner, and bold red matte lips. She pulled her hair back into her signature high ponytail and let her curves do all the talking. You'd think guys would be lining up to get Iggy's number, but she says, "I don’t have people asking for my number every day or even every week. I often meet people in working environments where it's professional." Welp, I think this means there's officially no hope for the rest of us.
Clutches, rings, and cuffs ruled the night and the multiple metallic surfaces sent our magpie-like covetous brains spinning. And scheming. From cunning little hard-case purses to mercury-shiny asymmetrical cuffs to bracelets that appeared to be made from boiled and spun sugar, there wasn't an accessory that we didn't mentally audition with our wardrobe at home. Let's take a closer look and really allow the envy to take hold and darken our hearts before dropping serious paper on some of these choice, outfit-making accent pieces.

While we personally would've loved a simple tank paired with Nicki's amazing, ultra-'80s, black-and-gold-hardware ensemble, we're uncompromised in our love and admiration of all that gleaming metal. From the bright buckles of her waistcoat to the enormous gauntlet of bracelets, we loved the deep, inverted, dramatic V of her gold 188.8.131.52 Necklace by TomTom Jewelry that's held aloft seemingly by her impressive décolletage and set off by the badassery of her matching gold Crystal Chunk Knucklebuster Ring by Luv AJ.
