Selena Gomez i-D magazine

Selena Gomez on 'i-D' magazine's pre-fall 2013 issue.

As much as we love seeing Selena Gomez hanging out in the back of limos decked out in THE most fancy ensembles, we'll admit that sometimes we just like to see our girl chillin' in some no-nonsense duds. In the pre-fall 2013 issue of i-D magazine, they do just that. Sel is stripped of all her couture gowns and hits the streets of London in nothing more than a jeans and a sweater. In her super 'dorbs debut cover photo, she sports an all-black Margaret Howell pullover with perfectly-tousled waves and barely-there makeup. We LOVE seeing Selena's natural beauty shine through, and, um, can we talk about how she may be the only person in the universe who looks cute while making this face? *bows down*

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Margiela suit

We know it's silly (and maybe a little sad) but we really do get a little butterfly-ified when we gaze upon Joseph Gordon-Levitt's undeniable punim. He's the kind of guy you would imagine would make you laugh, never do you wrong, and would totally impress your mom at family holidays, all the while being super hot to boot. He also knows how to wear the crap out of some clothes. Three piece suits, fall layers, and basic t-shirts: no sartorial staple phases JGL, oh no, and now, in the October issue of Glamour, he's proving himself once again. The spread does double duty, as a straight-up interview in the magazine and as a cute feature on date night dressing online, but both are pure cuteness. Let's look at the online spread for now. So it's supposed to be about the girl, how you can wear a Marni cape on a date or a cozy sweater and silk skirt (both by Oscar De La Renta), and these are definitely two fall looks we can seriously get behind, but we're also really feeling Joe picking us up for our date in an oxblood Maison Martin Margiela suit and crisp white Thom Browne shirt, unbuttoned just so. I mean, what would you even do? You would die of happiness, that's what. See more of JGL's sweep you off your feet looks after the jump.

Selena Gomez

Helloooooo, NURSE! Excuse us while we shove our eyeballs back into their sockets, but this Selena Gomez Elle Magazine spread is tongue-waggingly amazeballs. Our little Selenita is all grown up and flaunting some seriously sexy fashion. I mean, this is some opulent, glamourous Donatella Versace muse-type steez. For the newstand cover, Sel wears a heavily embellished mesh corset from Dolce & Gabbana with a bold scarlet lip and a grip of gold baubles. She's backdropped against a far-reaching horizon line of rolling ocean waves, onyx hair perfectly windswept, shimmering eyes framed by extra-strong brows.

Zoe Saldana, Pharrell Williams and Mary Kate Olsen at the CFDA awards.
Photo: Getty

Sometimes the fashion world can seem intimidating and stuffy, but then events like the Met Gala or last night's CFDA awards ceremony pop up and the world that was one intimidating gets to bust out all of its creative, gutsy excitement for the world to see. A designer, a blogger, and a model singing and dancing to "Call Me Maybe" while getting ready? Check. A host decked out in a lace dress and boxer shorts? Check. Some of our favorite celebs wearing GORGEOUS couture? Check, check, check, check. While there were a TON of outfits that struck our fancy on last night's red carpet, there were a few that stuck out in particular. Zoe Saldana wore one of the more striking looks of the night, although it was also one of the most simple. Prabal Gurung dressed the actress in a jet black, carpet-sweeping illusion gown, with figure accentuating sheer panels, long sleeves, and a slit to there. The look was gorgeous paired with a strong kohl eye, nude lips, and tightly pulled-back hair. Pharrell Williams also managed to make black look risky in...dare we say it...a shorts tux. The modernized tux, which also featured a giant bow tie and a beanie, was designed by Comme Des Garçons and revealed the music and fashion mogul's calf tattoo. It's a fresh take on a timeless look that some say needs no updating, but we say go for it Pharrell, what's the point of being in fashion if you're too afraid to take a risk every once in awhile. Also, we need to add that this is not 100% uncharted territory: Joe Jonas wore a giant bow tie to last year's CFDA's. Just sayin'. Ok, ok, we know it's summer and that we need to move on from all the winter-colored outfits, but we couldn't leave out Mary Kate Olsen in The Row, especially since the talented twin and her sister took home the award for Women's Wear Designer of the Year, considered the biggest achievement of the night. Mary Kate joined the winners circle with a new 'do, showing up to the show with brand new brunette locks. The color makes MK's blue eyes pop, an effect that she accentuated with a pair of oversized emerald green drop earrings.

Marni H&M

Pieces from the Marni at H&M collection.
Photo: Courtesy of H&M

It seems like forever since we freaked out over the news that Marni would be collabing H&M for a spring collection. But guess what? Spring is here, y'all, meaning these pieces are about to become a serious reality. The collection covers everything from loose colorblock dresses to printed pajama suits to cool oversized parkas—the quirky pieces toned down by solid, summery staples. Some of our favorites include the short-sleeve white and black mod leather jacket, a silk jewel tone polka dot pencil skirt, a sequin collar necklace, black and gray polka dot trousers, a '70s print silk hooded dress, and stacked green and black platforms.

Nope, your eyes are NOT deceiving you—that headline says exactly what you think it does: H&M and Marni are collaborating for a spring 2012 collection! GAHHHHHHH. Just when we were on the mend from elbowing our way through the recently released H&M and Versace collection, we now have something ELSE to look forward to after a long, cold winter! Italian fashion label Marni is known for its decadent prints, one-of-a-kind shapes, and bold colors, so we cannot WAIT to get our paws on some affordable pieces from the collection. Founder and Creative Director Consuelo Castiglioni collaborated with H&M Creative Advisor Margareta van den Bosch to create a women's and men's collection that will juxtapose "prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphics and adding sporty utilitarian elements," says Consuelo. Ummm, we're loving the sound of this already! The women's line will include full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped pants, and jacquard knits in everything from silk to cotton. Plus, the collection will also include jewelry, shoes, bags, and scarves (YUS!). Just peeping the image above makes us weak in the knees because we are loving that bright '70s print SO. HARD.

Jared Leto Dedicate Magazine

If Jared Leto EVER tweets the words "I," "shot," "magazine cover" in the same sentence with a corresponding link, there's a 100% chance we're going to click it. Jared is basically a fashion icon here at MTV Style, and this 30 Seconds to Mars frontman proved once again that no cray cray ensemble is off-limits. Blue hair? Check. Hand muffs? Check. Fringe shoulder pads? Check. Snuggie? Check. This time, though, he pulled out a stint even we've never seen before: He's LEGIT caught in a Marni knit sweater on the cover of Dedicate magazine, and it's kind of sort of REALLY adorable. There's something oddly cute about a helpless dude. Is it just us or can you imagine him quietly whimpering, "Halp, haaalllp," but you're all, "Aw, you can get out of there little guy," because it's SO CUTE in a cat-stuck-in-tube-sock kind of way, where you're not actually thinking about how they physically are trapped and might die of suffocation or malnourishment if they're not taken care of in a timely manner? Just us? Yes/no?

• After the successful launch of Rihanna's first fragrance Reb'l Fleur, the singer is already working on perfume No. 2! She tweeted that when she wore her new sample, "all the fly girls wanted some," which MUST mean it's awesome. {Just Jared}

Lanvin is launching a 25-piece "superluxury" children's line along with their upcoming resort collection. The fabrics used will cost 10 times more than most children's apparel, which means 4-year-olds will officially be wearing more expensive outfits than us. Jelz. {Racked}

• Look like a million bucks with this genius D.I.Y. hack of the Marni braided bracelet. All you need is some ribbon, glue and tape to get the same look and feel as the real two-tone bangle that retails for more than $200. Get to work! {Who What Wear}

• There's so many fabulous moms on the "My Mom The Style Icon" blog that we couldn't not share it with you. Plus, there's even a book. Don't forget about Mother's Day (Pssssssst, it's Sunday! And, yes, we're gonna be reminding you all week.) {Mom Style Icons}

• American designer and "Prince of Color" Chris Benz and a slew of other fashion pioneers are speaking at a panel called "How I'm Making It: What It Takes To Be Successful In Fashion" on Monday, May 9, in New York City. {Fashionista}

• Luxury clothing boutique Dagny & Barstow are moving into Lenny Kravitz's old nightclub retail space on Bowery in NYC, which only means craaaaaazy things are bound to be discovered. Underneath the "seven years worth of dust," the owners found a stomach pump. Yowza. {Racked}

Katy Perry opened up the Logie Awards with her hit single "Firework" in an appropriately dynamite ensemble. The pop singer wore a head-to-toe sparkly red dress with a STUNNING sculpted bustier that, of course, amplified some of her other assets (you know, besides her voice). {Perez Hilton}

Kanye West performing at the Coachella festival in Indio, California, on April 17, and a look from Céline's spring 2011 runway.
Photo: Getty Images

It's sorta weird that everyone's freaking out about Kanye West wearing a Celine blouse from Spring/Summer 2011 when he's been wearing hyper-low-cut-fairly-androgynous diaphanous shirts since like VMA time last year. In fact, Kanye has never at any point been a one to be sartorially run-of-the-mill and we here at MTV Style are TWO-THUMBS-UP-ON-BOARD with men wearing women's shirts. See, the thing is, while menswear blogs may tout the arrival of the (*gasp*) spread collar and vaunt the resurgence of the ("zut alors!") club collar or wax euphoric on how certain shirts boast a slimmer cut or feature washed out floral prints or have looooooooong pockets that merit its $700 pricetag, the silhouette overall remains faithfully orthodox. The sleeves start right at their shoulders. The collar is exactly where you'd expect and the hem is such that it can look cute and outdoorsy untucked or dashing tucked. The end. While the Belgians have long created uniquely complicated and beautiful shirts that are his and hers (Ann Demeulemeester, we will love you forever), womenswear ready-to-wear shirts will reliably go to town on insane prints, asymmetrical hems, crazy-long-plackets, gathered sleeves, leg-o-mutton sleeves, dropped arm's eyes and looooooooooong gauntlet cuffs with a bajillion buttons and it just doesn't seem fair that we're the only ones who get to have fun. So, in the spirit of sharing. We go blouse shopping for Kanye!

Spring 2011 looks from Balenciaga, Marni, and Yves Saint Laurent.
Photos: Imaxtree

Balenciaga is an obvious choice for Kanye especially circa Nicolas Ghesquière where there's a great deal of textural interplay. Kanye often wears leather or majillion-dollar denim jackets so a gauzy shirt would be a tremendous addition to his ladyshirt repertoire.

Okay, we know this Marni thing is a tunic. We also recognize that it has sequins and while we understand that there are barriers to entry for both we also KNOW that if anyone can do it, it's Kanye. Hear us out. This, front-tucked (only, no back tuck) into jeans like it's no big deal with Air Yeezy 2s? Fire.

The YSL is a no brainer. Unbuttoned all the way down. Untucked. Shrugs. Everybody loses their minds over the awesomenitude.

Spring 2011 looks from Cacharel and Hussein Chalayan.
Photos: FirstView

This Cacharel is just obviously so sick it's insane. I want it. Kanye should want it. And hell, we could both wear it exactly this way. As a matter of fact, pop a top button and Tyler the Creator couldshould want this too.

A Hussein Chalayan is just a good investment. Worn in any number of ways, this shirt is versatile, memorable and could close out any show or performance with a drama-sleeved bang. Plus, I want to hear to hear the polysyllabic interplay of "Hussein Chalayan" being name-dropped in a sixteen. Fashion <3 Rap = 4 EVA.
