Nikki Reed, Nicole Scherzinger, and Snooki in their peep-toes.

Our West Coast ladies may not totally be able to feel us on this, but remember a few days ago when it was baaaarely Halloween and a badass Nor'easter came rolling through, dropping flash blizzards everywhere it touched? I'll preach here week after week about trying out new shoe silhouettes, heel heights and widths, etc., but the jarring truth, faithful readers, is that once sandal season hits, I cling to it for dear life, riding the wave for as long as possible without risking irreparable frostbite-induced nerve and tissue damage. Needless to say, my footwear decision-making process was thoroughly rocked come this weekend's snowfall, and the brute force with which Mother Nature took to making me pull on a pair of flat, knee-high boots was nothing short of unexpected; also, maddening. In retaliation, I made it my mission to wear nothing but toe-bearing shoes with unreasonable heels all week long. And judging from the peep-toe styles they've been sporting, perhaps Nikki Reed, Nicole Scherzinger, and Snooki feel the same way about staving off the podiatric shrouding that comes hand-in-hand with winter's chill.

Jennifer Lopez performs at KIIS FM's Wango Tango 2011 in Los Angeles on May 14, and Nicole Scherzinger performs at Radio 1's Big Weekend 2011 in London on May 14.

You know how even the most impressive dudes in the whole wide world put their pants on one leg at a time? WELL, WHAT ABOUT CATSUITS? I don't even wear leggings, let alone leggings without a shirt/tunic/dress long enough to cover the V of your ladyundercarriagearea, so I gotta say, these skintight bodysuits seem awfully challenging and yet here we have two very successful examples.

Peep the impressively sleek physiques of Jennifer Lopez (again, this woman had TWINS) and Nicole Scherzinger. Despite my being 1 million years old and damn-near Victorian when it comes to grave matters of the camel toe, I am not in the least bit affronted by either display of womenbits because there is NONE TO BE SEEN HERE.

It's really a matter of fit. J. Lo's homage to Spider-Woman (whaddap Jessica Drew) is plenty revealing, but the fact that there is ZERO bunching or even the slightest hint of sausaging on any of her extremities speaks to either a dynamite tailor or a superhuman tightness of flesh. The iridescent webbing also breaks the look up, so there isn't just an expanse of skin for the eye to train on and pick off shortcomings since human eyes can be total bastards.

Nicole's working with a much more retro, Body Glove-ish silhouette. Neon, midriff cutouts, color blocking... But the trick here is that a) it appears that this onesie isn't made of neoprene as earlier suspected (wetsuit material can have an oddly thickening effect) and that b) the shapes on the surface, the long sleeves and the V-neck actually contours an already dumb perfect body. Basically, this is a magical catsuit that gives you boobs, trims your waist, makes your torso appear slender and lengthy while elongating your limbs. It's like if your SPANX had tiny intelligent mirrors, lights, and a million buglike robotic arms that moved according to who's looking at you to make you appear 10 pounds thinner and 32 points boobier. You know, DESPITE ALREADY HAVING THE IDEAL MOST PERFECTEST AWESOME BODY ALREADY. Who wore it better? More like, who but these two could in the first place?*

*Oh, I guess Nicki Minaj, Jessie J. And basically anyone who chooses to. I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO TALKS SMACK ABOUT A LADY IN A CATSUIT. It's not easy, man. Can you even really carry a purse? OMG. You'll need to make a mini-you-in-a-catsuit-fanny-pack. Oh me? Yeah, I'm just blogging MILLION DOLLAR IDEAS IN THE ASTERISK POSTSCRIPT.

Rihanna looked DEVASTATINGLY GORGEOUS on the cover (and inside!) of the April 2011 issue of Vogue. Her fiery red hair, her flawless skin—we can't get enough! ILU RiRi.

Jersey Shore's Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola celebrated her birthday (the big two four) this weekend by trying something new—crimped strands of hair! We were left pondering why she only decided to do two strands and not her whole head, but it's her birthday and she does what she wants to.

• At the 2011 Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas, we were MORE than impressed with all the lads' and ladies' stylish ensembles! The dudes donned skinny ties, the girls just looked straight up HOT, and we tracked down Wiz Khalifa's Johnny Depp tee performance outfit!! Also, we caught up with Alexis Krauss from Sleigh Bells for some hot fashion tipz.

• What were those hot dudes up to this week? Rain KILLED IT on the Esquire Korea cover, James Franco and Zac Efron showed off the newest boy trend: armpits, Patrick Dempsey flashed his McChesticles, Sliimy proved he's a rising style star, and Brad Pitt got an interesting haircut, which then made us compile EVERY HAIRSTYLE HE'S EVER HAD. (You're welcome.)

• We tracked down the cutest Brit "It" girls from across the pond! Meet Fearne Cotton, Jessie J, and Bip Ling! #obsessed

• The fashion face-offs continue! Who wore it best: Scarlett Johansson vs. Kate Bosworth vs. Diane Kruger or Lindsay Lohan vs. Jennifer Hudson?

• Wanna look like a celeb?! Well, now you can! Get a hot pink prom dress like Debby Ryan, almond-shaped nails like Lady Gaga, a french braid like Liv Tyler, African-inspired prints like Whitney Port, bright pink eyeshadow like Kristen Wiig, or a braided hair wrap headband like Nicole Scherzinger.

• This week we had some burning questions: Should you buy your wedding dress online? Is the Texas tuxedo making a comeback? Does Joe Jonas have a soul patch?!?! LUCKILY, Lady Gaga is answering any questions you want this week and this week only!! So like... maybe you could ask her these die-hard questions for us. Because we REALLY wanna know the answers.

• Spring trends are in full effect! This week we loved: ruffled tiers and platform shoes.

SPRING WEATHER IS HEREEREREE!!! Time to buy tons of floral dresses and go for bike rides ASAP. See you Monday!

Nicole Scherzinger sighted on in Paris on March 17.
Photo: Getty Images

We've seen our fair share of crown braids. Last spring and summer they were all over the place (we bet you rocked one or 30 of them yourself), but the thing with crown braids is that they can sometimes look too kitschy...too girly...too ever-so-slightly milk maidish. But what Nicole Scherzinger showed off while hanging out in Paris yesterday was a completely fresh variation (crown braid 2.0, if you will), and ridiculously wearable. Here's how to style bite.

STEP 1 For a texture-boost, finger comb a dollop of styling mousse throughout your strands.

STEP 2 Part your hair down the middle—from your hairline to the top of your head.

STEP 3 Grab a 2- to 4-inch chunk of hair from behind one ear. Starting from the root, fishtail braid the section, securing the end with a small elastic. Don't know how to fishtail braid? We got you, gurl. Click here for a quick refresher.

STEP 4 Pull the braid over to the other side of your head (it should sit in the middle of your part), and secure it behind your ear with two bobby pins. To keep the braid from slipping and sliding, stick a few more bobbies along the braid and you're done. Gorgeous.

• In case you doubted Ke$ha's love of glitter, she explains it all!

• Supermodel Coco Rocha will host's Red Carpet Report for the Video Music Awards on Sept. 12!

• Emmy looks we loved: January Jones's bright blue Versace gown, the guys of Glee in their black skinny ties, beautiful bows, glam gold and the Glee girls' gowns in patriotic navy and red.

• Hair went super high this week, from head-topping buns and updos at the Emmys to Elly Jackson of La Roux's "ginger quiff."

• Middle school trends that made a comeback: super stylish socks and temporary tattoos like Whitney Port.

Glee girls went from the small screen to the pages of our favorite magazines! Lea Michele rocked it on the cover of Glamour, while Heather Morris nailed it in Nylon.

• More celebrity hair news: Fergie went back to blond and Anne Hathaway became the latest in a string of celebs to try a pixie.

• This week was full of bold beauty looks: dress-matching lipstick, larger-than-life lashes and beautiful black nails were just a few of our faves.

• All hail accessories! Look at Jessica Alba's clutch and Nicole Scherzinger's chandelier earrings.

Natalie Portman got bit by the purple (dress) bug. And she also knows how to grow out her bangs.

And that's all for the summer, folks! Enjoy the last long weekend of the season, and wear all of your white jeans and summery rompers one last time. Until Tuesday, Happy Labor Day!

Nicole Scherzinger. Clockwise from top left: Rouen earrings, Charlotte Russe earrings and Wet Seal.

Nicole Scherzinger--of Pussycat Dolls and Dancing With The Stars fame--looked pretty in pink at a pre-Emmy party last weekend. To complete the outfit, she opted for a pair of gunmetal chandelier earrings, which worked really well with her ponytail updo. For a dangly, dark beaded earring like Nicole Scherzinger's, try these Filigree Chandelier earrings ($4), which add length without being too bulky. For an antique look, go for these Rouen earrings by Suzanna Dai ($190)--each pair is made to order. Or, for black beaded earrings that create a teardrop effect, pick up Wet Seal’s Black Diamond Facet Earrings. And at just $6, they basically pay for themselves in one wear!

+ Price: $4, $6, $190.

Every week we take a look at the hottest in celebrity shoes, and this week's group slipped on plenty of black Christian Louboutin footwear. Nicole Scherzinger wore peep-toe patent leather Christian Louboutins to an Emmy Awards kick-off party last week, while Jessica Alba slipped on the Tinazata 120 by Christian Louboutin for the Los Angeles premiere of "Machete." Then, "The Hills" star Stephanie Pratt slipped on a pair of Christian Louboutin lace ankle booties when she attended the Los Angeles premiere of "Going the Distance." These ladies prove you can wear black shoes any season!
