Kristen Stewart

Since Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson skipped out on the red (er, pink?) carpet action at the Teen Choice Awards, it wasn't until later on in the show-when the duo accepted the "Ultimate Choice" prize for Twilight - that we could really get a good look at the couple's coordinating outfits. They took cues from each other, each sporting black pants and blue and black jackets on top. Kristen wore a Fluxux t-shirt, Roberto Cavalli blazer, leather skinnies, and Christian Louboutin pumps, whereas Rob kept it cas in a printed blue button-up and vintage-inspired jacket. The twosome have been known to dress alike in public before (even rocking the same Bengals sweater) but color coordinating the whole downtown-grunge look? Now that's a first.

Miley Cyrus Sky Ferreira Katy Perry Elton John Oscars Viewing Party

Whew, it was a loooong 2012 Oscar night. From a fash parade of Best Dressed lovelies to Angelina Jolie's leg workin' the red carpet (and Oscar stage) like a seasoned pro, it was an evening full of style sensations and straight-up style shenanigans. And it didn't stop with the actual awards show, either. As you know, there are many post-Oscar bashes to attend, and Elton John's annual dinner, in support of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, is always a celeb- and musician-friendly fave. This year's event drew everyone from Miley Cyrus and Sky Ferreira to Katy Perry and Nina Dobrev. Also? It was an evening awash in silver sparkle and matte black panache.

Katharine McPhee, Sarah Hyland, and Heidi Klum at the Golden Globes on Jan. 15, 2012, in Beverly Hills, California.
Photo: Getty Images

If there was one overwhelming trend the 2012 Golden Globes had going on, it was a serious case of the pales. Did all the stylists get together and party-phone this trend into existence or was this merely a coincidence? You could call it a parade of champagne, a pallid paradise, or a nakie-nudie FANTASIA OF FLESH TONES, but most of the dresses we spied this year were decidedly wan in the color department. Still, the ladies looked lovely!

If you squint your eyes while looking at Katharine McPhee, she totally transforms into Birthday Suit Barbie. Wearing a strapless midi, tea-length Donna Karan dress embellished with leaf-shaped sparkles and matching sky-high stiletto plats, we think she looks DAZZLING and ready for her Smash TV show. Sarah Hyland's vintage, beige lace Dolce & Gabbana gown with a black lace trim at the waist may have suffered a zipper malfunction (which had her handlers pinning her back into it on the red carpet), but she carried herself like a lady through it all. Poise! Heidi Klum was all sorts of GORGE in a wispy nude Calvin Klein dress accentuated with turquoise panache courtesy of one MAYJAH necklace by Lorraine Schwartz. But we're just getting started...there was a whole carnival of cream up in there, too.

Miley Cyrus wears two gold dresses in one weekend.
Photo: Getty Images

Usually when we drop a "Who Wore It Better?", we call out to you, MTV Style readers, for preferential guidance by pitting two celebs clad in super similar outfits (or even the very same piece) against each other for our own enjoyment. This edition is a little different. We're narrowing our focus slightly with this go-around, strapping gloves onto actress/songstress/music royalty Miley Cyrus against...HERSELF! Miley had a busy weekend hitting up two inspirational soirees in a pair of gold/nude floor-length gowns. Sure, she styles them differently, but at the end of the day, these long flowy frocks are pretty undeniably sims.

Yasmin Le Bon, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Eva Herzigova in Duran Duran's "Girl Panic!" music video.

Ever since we peeped Harper's Bazaar UK's supermodel-adorned December issue, we've been waiting for the accompanying music FILM. Oh, yes, the '90s supes—namely Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova, and Yasmin Le Bon—were not only shot for the cover of the mag, they have a whole spread and it's all part of the MEGA (META) MUSIC VIDEO, "Girl Panic", for the MEGA BAND Duran Duran shot by video kingpin Jonas Akerlund. This nine minute explosion of fashion, music, and supAHmodel mayhem is finally here, and we've dissected it in its entirety. But before we begin, we have a little history to discuss…

Reema Ruspoli in "Rio," Christy Turlington in "Notorious," and Sheila Ming in "Hungry Like The Wolf."

Yes, these photos look slightly weird and out of place, and they should. They're from the '80s! It should be known that Duran Duran ORIGINATED the whole models starring in videos thing. At the beginning of their music career, they were well-known in Europe but had yet to break into the U.S. market, and it was their stylish videos (featuring models) which caught the eye of MTV, which was then in its infancy. MTV put Duran Duran's vids in heavy rotation, and the band and the network both experienced marked success. Videos for "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Rio" were gigantic hits and featured models frolicking in face paint, and the video for "Notorious" starred supermodel Christy Turlington. But the supes in "Girl Panic" take the notion to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. They actually play the band and do some heavy duty acting, too, each one talking and behaving like their real-life band member counterparts (cue champagne parties, lounging on hotel carts, waking up outside on some steps, and whipping through the streets of London in a Rolls) while groupies in lingerie sleep all over things. This is LE ROCK and LE Roll, people, and we like it. Come take a look at all the decked-out debauchery…

Gossip Girl may have skipped a week last Tuesday, but we pick back up right where we left off, and the short break may have been wise because this episode was a DOOZY. Dan (Penn Badgley) is pumped up about the whirlwind success of Inside from secret publication to anonymous author reveal, script optioning, and NOW he's a top 10 bestseller. Serena (Blake Lively) and her boss Jane (Michael Michele) bring Dan in to discuss the paper-to-film transition, but the meeting turns sour as Jane tries to Glee it up and basically turn the story into Newsies. Blair (Leighton Meester), with her wedding day fast approaching, takes to the scheme board "one last time" for an elaborate bridesmaids gauntlet among select minions throughout the years and the tournament's dark horse, Charlie (aka Ivy) (Kaylee DeFer). Chuck (Ed Westwick) is seeing a therapist who has been paid off by Prince Louis (Hugo Becker) to "light his fuse" in hopes that Blair will be reminded of Chuck's monstrous side and never go back to him *cough*goodluckdude*cough*. Nate (Chace Crawford) gets huffy about his boss Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) and her unwillingness to come forward with Nate as a couple, and it aaaaall comes to a head guessed it! A PARTY! It's a big episode for longtime fans, so in case you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest, but check back here weekly for our fashion recap!

Kristen Stewart Vogue Italia

You may be used to spotting Twilight's Kristen Stewart in sneakers and dresses, jeans and tees, and other comfy-cozy ensembles, but when KStew gets dolled up, she gets DOLLED. UP. And by that we mean, she freakin' blows us away with her gorgeousness. She's already a mysterious smoldering beauty without a lick of makeup on, but in the November issue of Vogue Italia, she goes ALL OUT spooky chic in heavy smoky eyes, an imperfectly spiky French twist, and modest black, white, and silver gowns. There's not an ounce of color jumping off these pages, but we're OB-SESSED with KStew's bewitching look—and Miss Stewart herself even said she wishes she wore more feminine clothes. Aw, KSTEWWWW. You can! Look at how well you wear these ladylike pieces! In her first ensemble (top left), she layers three Roberto Cavalli leopard pieces (a scarf, blouse, AND vest) for a goth-y Victorian Era beauty vibe, and (on the right) she WERKS it in an Alexander McQueen lace and fringe gown paired with cut-out Diego Dolcini booties.

Beyonce launching her fragrance, 'Pulse,' on September 21 and 22, 2011
Photo: Getty Images

You'd think Beyonce would have her hands full gestating little Bey/HOV Junior and that the stress of the hormonal rollercoaster called "pregnancy" would be enough, but Queen Bey just keeps proving us more and more wrong from laying it all out on the stage for her VMA performance/big reveal, to globetrotting from New York Fashion Week to the London launch of House of Dereon and BACK to New York for the launch of her newest fragrance, Pulse. To top it all off, Bey makes sure the world sits up and pays attention to this scent, rolling the fragrance out over the course of not one, but two days and sporting two very different outfits.

• What's Blake Lively's secret to landing huge fashion campaigns like this new one from Chanel? Chocolate ice cream and the Lion King soundtrack, says the Gossip Girl. Sweet! {The Cut}

Jean Paul Gaultier, Jessica Stam, and Roberto Cavalli have openly expressed that they don't believe the racist/anti-semitic allegations against fellow designer John Galliano. {Huffington Post}

• The "college dropout" may be headed back to school. Rumor has it that Kanye West has applied to study at the Central Saint Martins College in London toward a fashion-related master's degree. {Vulture}

• Here's something to keep you from twiddling your thumbs on a rainy day: step-by-step instructions to create a DIY Proenza Schouler bungee cord bracelet (pssst, if you were to buy the real thing, it'd set you back $150!). {Meet Me On the Catwalk}

eBay might as well be called eBiebs (good one!), because after auctioning locks of his hair for over $40,000, Justin Bieber is now using the retail site to hawk an autographed pair of worn purple Nike sneaks for charity. {Coco Perez}

• Who is this fashionista that got to style one of the Dolce & Gabbana windows in a Milan store, and then got to take home all of the garments she used? And, WHY can't we be her? Just sayin'. {Glamour}

• In the latest "what dress will princess-to-be Kate Middleton wear on her wedding day" news, the designer du jour is Alexander McQueen. This is one rumor we can see becoming reality. {NY Times}

• We (heart) Costco. Where else can you get a case of pigs-in-the-blanket and a wedding dress in the same aisle? {Styleite}

The 2011 Oscars red carpet was just the beginning. Nominees plus dozens of other celebs slipped into their cutest cocktail dresses for the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, one of the most coveted post-Academy Awards tickets in Hollywood.

SHOWSTOPPERS: A memo must have gone out! There was a TON of crimson at the Oscars, and the scene was much the same at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. Zoe Saldana wore a Prabal Gurung fuchsia and red frock, Selena Gomez slipped into a body-lengthening Dolce & Gabbana gown, Anna Kendrick wore a ruffled scarlet Notte by Marchesa dress, and Anna Paquin rocked a ballet-inspired Monique Lhuillier dress.

THRILL OF THE LACE: Nothing says glamour like a little lace. Mia Wasikowska (in Stella McCartney), Zooey Deschanel (in Valentino), Ginnifer Goodwin (in Erdem), and Jena Malone (in a sleeveless, tummy-"showing" cocktail dress) chose to drive the point home in A LOT of the feminine fabric.

AU NATUREL: You'd think that wearing a dress that matches your skin tone would completely wash you out and make you look like a blob of, well, beige. But it was quite the opposite for Jessica Biel (in a strappy Versace gown), Gwyneth Paltrow (in the same Michael Kors gown she performed in at the Oscars), Taylor Swift (in a Zuhair Murad minidress), and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (in a Valentino Haute Couture dress). These stars glowed!

SINGING THE BLUES: Our new fashion theory is that ANYONE can dazzle in a blue hue. Enter: Rosario Dawson in a high-slit Diane von Furstenberg dress, Lea Michele in a long-sleeve sparkling Roberto Cavalli gown, and Dianna Agron in an ankle-length, flowing frock by J. Mendel.

TAKE THE PLUNGE: One thing's for sure—a lot of double-sided tape was used last night to keep the deep necklines of Claire Danes' cream Calvin Klein dress, Emma Roberts' sparkling Jenny Packham creation, and Gabrielle Union's stunning Diane von Furstenberg purple dress in place.

CHIC FRILLS: You have to be careful with ruffles, as there's a fine line between classy and trashy, but these ladies pull them off. Rashida Jones (in Valentino), Selita Ebanks (in red and beige one-shoulder dress), Amanda Seyfried (in Valentino), and Cameron Diaz (in Carolina Herrera), looked uber-ladylike in their perfectly frilly frocks.

PRINTS CHARMING:We know that trends come in threes (at least). But we were so mesmerized by Emma Stone's short-sleeved Chanel Haute Couture dress and Lourdes Leon's AllSaints Aztec minidress that we couldn't help but mentioning. You like, right?
