Taylor Swift, Roxy Olin, and Claire Kislinger get all dolled up.
Photo: Claire Kislinger's Instagram

Between her insanely cute kitten, Meredith, and her face painting girls night, Taylor Swift is basically trying to win the prize for living the cutest life, and succeeding. The singer has been in the studio all week working on her next record, but she took some time off from writing to play dress up with her friends Roxy Olin (from The City!) and Claire Winter Kislinger. Our first documentation of a T.Swift lady-party was when the singer got fancy with Dianna Agron and friends in honor of Shirley MacLaine's birthday in flower crowns, white gloves and pretty dresses. Apparently there's no longer any need for an occasion, though, because her last two shindigs have been all just for kicks!

Soon the ball will drop on 2010 and we'll ring in a brand spankin' new year full of menswear-inspired trousers and honeysuckle-colored blouses (so say the trend forecasters). But before "old acquaintance be forgot" we'd like to take you back—back to the fashion and beauty moments of 2010 that made us smile (Rihanna's red hot hair), laugh (Katy Perry's snowman performance ensemble), and say to ourselves "WTF?!" (Lady Gaga's meat dress).

First up? Top trends. From the mono-shoulder to tutu ensembles, these were the looks that we spotted over, and over...AND OVER again. But, you know what? We never got tired of seeing them reincarnated to fit different celebrities' unique personalities.

CUT OUT DRESSES: Walking around in torn clothes used to be uncouth. In 2010, however, wearing a slashed, Zoro-treated dress, like those ofRoxy Olin, Leighton Meester, AnnaLynne McCord and Audrina Patridge, looked sexy and fresh.

Roxy Olin at the Fashion Fighting for the Cure party in New York on Oct. 6, Leighton Meester at Fashion's Night Out in New York on Sept. 7, AnnaLynne McCord at the AFM party in Santa Monica, Calif., on Nov. 5, and Audrina Patridge at 'The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending' finale event held in Hollywood on July 13.

LACE: The dainty, vintage-y fabric showed up in all kinds of hues, from the more traditional whites and creams that Lauren Conrad and Taylor Swift wore, to the red carpet-matching crimson Michelle Williams wore.

LEOPARD: From Keri Hilson's casual-cool blouse and Rachel Bilson's shoulder-showing gown, to Rihanna's fitted top and pencil skirt combo, animal prints turned basic pieces fierce.

ONE-SHOULDER: It's no wonder TONS of celebs, including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Kristen Stewart and Miley Cyrus, bared arms in single-strap dresses and jumpers—the one-shoulder silhouette is easier to wear than strapless frocks and just as gorgeous.

Rihanna at an after-party in Hollywood on July 21, Kim Kardashian at the Teen Choice Awards in Universal City on Aug. 8, Kristen Stewart at a 'Welcome To The Rileys' screening in New York on Oct. 18, and Miley Cyrus at 'The Last Song' premiere in Los Angeles on March 25.

SHEER: Stealing the spotlight was a cinch for Kristen Stewart, Florence Welch and Stephanie Pratt, who were just a handful of stars who strategically showed some skin in partially see-through sheaths.

TUTUS: These full-bodied mini-skirts weren't just for ballerina's and three-year-olds. While Rihanna and Christina Ricci attended parties and benefits in the girly getup, Katy Perry performed in tutus...more than once!

PRINTS AND PATTERNS: Many stars, like Lea Michele, Whitney Port, and Keira Knightley, shelved their monochromatic looks for fun florals, mixed graphics and poppy mosaics.

SEQUINS: It didn't matter if they were gold, silver, or bronze, stars (including Amanda Michalka and Audrina Patridge) who wore glam sequins cocktail dresses were all winners.

BEIGE: Beige used to be boring. Not anymore! Mila Kunis and Olivia Wilde wore glamorous gowns in the hue, while Blake Lively and Frieda Pinto made the shade fun and flirty.

UNDERSTATED SEXY: Finding the perfect balance between bum and rico-suave became the goal of guys in Hollywood. With just the right amount of wrinkle in their suits and looseness in their ties, Alexander Skarsgard, Andrew Garfield, and Jake Gyllenhaal were just a few of the MANY stars to pull it off perfectly.

Whitney Port.
Photo: Jim Wright/MTV

As much as we loved watching Whitney Port ascend in the fashion world on The City for two seasons, the show will not be back for a third round. "The City will not be returning to MTV for season three," MTV confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter this morning. "Whitney has been a part of our family for many years, and we wish her and the cast the best, and hope to collaborate with them again."

Whitney Port alluded to the show's cancellation yesterday when she visited Ryan Seacrest's radio show. "As of right now it doesn’t really look like we’re doing it anymore," the series' star told Seacrest, when the host asked if the girls would be back for another season. We're going to miss watching Whitney and the crew — Olivia Palermo, Roxy Olin, and Erin Kaplan — take on the fashion world in New York. And we're especially going to miss gawking at their sartorial choices (though we probably won't stop that!). But, for now, we'll take a cue from Whitney and stay positive! As she told Seacrest: "It’s OK. One door closes and another opens."

Roxy Olin, Leighton Meester, and Mischa Barton flaunt their abs in belly-baring dresses.
Photo: Getty Images.

Roxy Olin, Leighton Meester, and Mischa Barton are not afraid to show some skin — no matter what season it is! All three ladies recently stepped out in belly-baring, cutout dresses in bright colors and patterns. Let's take a closer look at their midriff-exposing outfits below.

ROXY OLIN: Earlier this week, The City star Roxy Olin debuted a hot pink dress with cutouts at her stomach and shoulders that SuperTrash designed in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month at the Fashion Fighting for the Cure event in New York (the dress goes on sale Oct. 9 for $99 online). Roxy played up the feminine color with pointed-toe pumps and loose, wavy locks.

LEIGHTON MEESTER: Last month, Gossip Girl Leighton Meester chose an electric blue mini with cutouts by Versus by Versace for Fashion's Night Out, and wore it with multicolor Christian Louboutin booties and a sparkly clutch.

MISCHA BARTON: Finally, Mischa Barton went for patterns instead of bright colors when she wore a red-and-white sparrow print Miu Miu dress from the label's spring 2010 collection in London earlier this summer. Black shoes and a bold red lip helped Mischa pull off the look.

While all three style stars pulled off this daring trend, Leighton Meester's look has to be our favorite! The banded blue dress fit her body perfectly, and we love how she added even more to the outfit with fun accessories and bright shoes. But what do you think?

Kristin Cavallari and Stephanie Pratt of The Hills at Fashion Week.

New York Fashion Week just wrapped up yesterday, and it's been quite a week for MTV stars to show their faces in the front row! The ladies of The City made their presence felt: Whitney Port showed the spring collection of her Whitney Eve line, Roxy Olin showed up to Jill Stuart (wearing the same dress as Kristin Cavallari, mind you), and Olivia Palermo attended SO MANY SHOWS! The Hills ladies also had a busy week. Kristin Cavallari sat front row to at least one show per day (almost!), while Stephanie Pratt stopped by a handful of her favorites. Meanwhile, Angelina Pivarnick represented the Jersey Shore cast when she walked the runway at a fashion show. To see all the outfits the MTV stars wore during Fashion Week, see the MTV Stars at Fashion Week flipbook.

+ Tell us which MTV star had the best style at Fashion Week — Kristin Cavallari, Stephanie Pratt, Whitney Port, Roxy Olin, Olivia Palermo, or Angelina Pivarnick?

Whitney Port with her models. Click the picture for her collection!

The City's Whitney Port presented her third collection for her label Whitney Eve on Saturday in New York City, and we popped over to scope it out. In the crowd, we spotted BFF Samantha Swetra, as well as Louise Roe (Olivia Palermo's Elle nemesis on The City) and Elle creative director Joe Zee (Olivia Palermo's boss on The City). But strangely missing in action? Whitney's friend Roxy Olin. Where was she?! As for the clothes, the pieces are SO WHITNEY! Whitney Port showed 20 looks total for her spring 2011 collection — not including the awesome military green jumpsuit that she wore from her new season, too. And the entire collection is super cute if you're into Whitney Port's style — lots of peach and pistachio hues (as promised), some stripes mixed with sheer, and great prints from feathers to geometric patterns that look like pastel stained glass windows. Want to see the entire collection? Click here to check it out.

Supermodel Coco Rocha hosted's "Red Carpet Report" for last night's Video Music Awards, interviewing celebs and musicians about their outfits. It was a natural fit for the supermodel—after all, Coco Rocha gets paid to live and breathe fashion, so the girl knew what she was talking about! From getting The City star Roxy Olin to open up about an embarrassing fashion mishap to chatting it up with Jared Leto about his "identity crisis," check out our top five favorite moments from Coco Rocha's "Red Carpet Report" below.

The City star Roxy Olin—who wore Michael Kors, Camilla and Marc, and Cathy Waterman—recalls that time Whitney Port helped her with a wardrobe malfunction!

Ciara, dressed head to toe in Givenchy, told Coco Rocha about the "trail of feathers" her dress left on the white carpet. Coco asked Ciara whether fashion or comfort is more important on the red carpet. "Fashion," Ciara said. "No pain no gain!"

Jared Leto confessed his "identity crisis" to Coco! Of his outfit, he says: "Just another bad accident in a series of adventures and mistakes." Profound.

Jersey Shore's Vinny (wearing a jacket from Urban Outfitters!) and Ronnie (who mixed the high and low by wearing Express and Dolce & Gabbana) talked to Coco about being trendsetters.

Selena Gomez chose a silver Reem Acra gown, and told Coco why she likes "having a say" and "taking chances" with her wardrobe picks!

Roxy Olin and Kristin Cavallari both in the same Jill Stuart dress.

Two MTV stars — Roxy Olin of The City and Kristin Cavallari of The Hills — both attended the Jill Stuart spring 2011 fashion show this morning in New York. And, OH NO, they both wore the same dress to the same fashion show! Maybe some people didn't catch it (surely the Jill Stuart publicists who gave them the dresses didn't), but we did. Even though the dresses are slightly different — Roxy Olin wore black and Kristin Cavallari wore purple — they are the same Jill Stuart strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and pattern. These two even shared the same bright red lips! Only the accessories set them apart; Kristin Cavallari with red shoes and a furry chainlink bag, and Roxy Olin with black sandals and leopard-print clutch. We love little black dresses AND leopard, so we dig Roxy's overall look more. But what do you think?

+ Who wore this Jill Stuart dress better — Roxy Olin or Kristin Cavallari?

People who work in fashion are notorious for wearing black ALL THE TIME, so when we spotted The City stars Whitney Port, Roxy Olin, and Olivia Palermo all wearing the dark color to Fashion Week events this week, they totally fit in. Whitney Port wore a black lace top with a denim panel skirt to a Fashion's Night Out party at the Giuseppe Zanotti boutique in New York last night, while BFF Roxy Olin wore a strapless sweetheart-neckline black dress to the Jill Stuart fashion show this morning. Meanwhile, Olivia Palermo added a black jacket, boots, and tote to her military-green pants and sweater outfit for a touch of darkness. But who wore black best? You tell us!

It's summer and everyone on the red carpet is showing off their pedicures with cute strappy sandals. Audrina Patridge went to a West Hollywood party this week wearing Giuseppe Zanotti black sandals that had two rows of black jewels around the ankles, Roxy Olin attended a Target party in New York wearing super-cool blue and orange T-strap sandals by Balmain, and Anna Kendrick walked the red carpet for the London premiere of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World in lace-up metallic purple Jimmy Choos. And yes, their gorgeous footwear showed off their freshly-painted toes quite nicely!
