Harry Styles 'just graduated' in Norway.

Because we all have to cut corners every now and then...

• Earlier this week, Harry Styles celebrated the Norwegian russefeiring graduation tradition by sporting a blindfold over his baby blues... except that he skipped the actual graduating part. {E! Online}

Google Glass is the wearable computer of the future, y'all! But for those of us who don't have $1,500 in pocket change, here’s what the experience actualllly looks like. {Mashable}

• Pants are superfluous, really. That's why Leandra Medine (aka The Man Repeller) just up and wore undies to brunch.

Selfridges, the U.K. department store, is introducing the world's first retail drive-thru. Yep, now you can legit go shopping without leaving your car. {Huffington Post}

• Fact: dude with a guitar > dude without a guitar. No really, there's scientific proof behind the “accessory” that automatically makes a fella more attractive. {The Cut}

Lynn Dell And Leandra Medine.
Photo: Coach

You know how much we love Advanced Style. Ari Seth Cohen's blog-turned-book-turned-documentary is one of our favorite destinations for inspiration that transcends trends, and with his latest endevour he has paired some of our fave bloggers with some truly fabulous advanced ladies. Advanced Style x Coach: Generations of Style should be required watching for every young fashion fan, as each of the segments is filled with unbeatable advice. Cohen paired Man Repeller's Leandra Medine up with "Countess of Glamour" Lynn Dell for the series, and watching the two together fills our hearts with endless amounts of joy as we put our noses into our notebooks and furiously write down all of Lynn's expert advice.

A little background: Lynn Dell is a New York City fashion legend. The owner of Boutique Off Broadway on Manhattan's Upper West Side, she's been a provider of sage style advice for more than 40 years. Leandra recalls one of Lynn's most well known quotes in the video, which is one that we're going to put in our pocket and carry around forever. "Fashion says 'me too;' style says 'only me.'" Isn't that the truth?! Advanced Style also paired blogger Susie Bubble with Ilona Royce Smithkin and FrouFrouu with Linda Rodin and we would highly recommend watching all three videos. Sharpen your pencils!

Marios Schwab Fall 2013

Marios Schwab channels Renaissance spirit for Fall 2013.

This week’s headlines are all about historical movements. Bill and Ted, eat your heart out.

+Beads and burgundy velvet at Marios Schwab Fall 2013 do not a Renaissance faire make. But they might as well.

+Did you know that Impressionist painters were the original street-style photographers? I mean, who wouldn't love to see Monet's take on the Man Repeller?

+ Wood Wood's "3rd Movement" collection is 1) excellent and 2) inspired by the respective American and British Summers of Love. Indeed, dip-dye jobs and flower prints will have you invariably humming, "If you are going to San Fran..."

+A new Punk exhibit at the Met showcases how Chanel and Versace incorporated mohawks and bondage straps into their aesthetic vocabulary. And there's a story behind why the exhibit will be extended to roughly 100 days...

+Happy belated birthday, Cindy Crawford! We salute you and your supermodel comrades from that eponymous (and let's face it, enormously pivotal) era.

Kanye West, Leandra Medine, and Mia Moretti In Maison Martin Margiela for H&M.
Photo: Courtesy of H&M

The fact that the launch event for the Maison Martin Margiela x H&M collaboration last night was beyond A-list (A+ List?) comes as no surprise. Immortalized in lyrics of hip-hop songs by Jay-Z and Kanye, worn by the most discerning celebs, and always on the cutting edge, the fashion house was, until now, about as lux and rarefied as it could get. This is why, when rumors were swirling that Margiela would be joining forces with H&M on a collaboration, we held our breath in disbelief. It was true, though, and your opportunity to cop it for yourself is quickly approaching. The likes of Kanye West, The Man Repeller's Leandra Medine, DJ Mia Moretti and many more turned out in New York city for the launch, some even transforming into real-life models of the new collection. Sidebar: our own House of Style host Joan Smalls turned out for the event, right after her live Twitter interview with Karlie Kloss and the Wall Street Journal! Ok back on track—Kanye, Leandra, and Mia showed us how versatile and wearable the super directional collection can be, so we wanted to go through the look book and tell you which exact pieces the three were wearing!

Lady Gaga bites Yoko Ono at her Fame launch at the Guggenheim museum.
Photo: Getty

We've already shown you the tattoo that Lady Gaga had inked onto her scalp at the Guggenheim museum last night, in celebration of Steven Klein's short film for her debut fragrance, Fame. Well, now we're ready to tell you the whole story, as far as we know it (and you know, you can never be sure with Mama Monster). She entered atop her car, as we said in our previous post, and snuck into the Gugg before most of the crowd had assembled, and well before her guests had arrived. We then took our place on the carpet to watch as the revelers poured in. It was a mix of high fashion faces, from Marc Jacobs to Interview editorial director Fabien Baron, to The Man Repeller herself, Leandra Medine, and pop notables like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. We were lucky enough to chat with a select few of the guests about what they were excited about and what Lady Gaga means to them, catching up with some of the celebs mentioned above (you'll have to watch to see who), as well as Yoko Ono, who compared Mama Monster to an angel, and figure skater and reality show star Johnny Weir, who is himself often referred to as "The Lady Gaga Of Figure Skating." Once inside, guests were treated to a screening of Steven Klein's short film, which he told us "explores the idea of the temptation of fame," and all of its many facets, as well as to Gaga's "Sleeping With Lady Gaga" performance piece. Check out our red carpet interviews, the full short film, and some photos from inside of the event after the jump.

Leandra Medine is repelling in fall plaids for Uniqlo.
Photo: Uniqlo

If anyone has figured out how to have it all, it's Leandra Medine. The 24 year old blogger behind The Man Repeller has a successful online brand, partnerships galore, AND she just tied the knot (in an incredible dress, we might add). When we heard that Leandra was going to be joining Tavi Gevinson and Cyndi Lauper as a model for Uniqlo, we were beyond excited--the Japanese basics retailer is definitely not what we think of when we think Medine, as her style everything besides basic, but then we remembered that everyone has to wear jeans, right? When Fashionista interviewed Medine about the campaign, she revealed a collaboration vetting strategy that we can totally get behind: "I always and only ever do collaborations with brands that I would work with even if there was no compensation involved," Medine said, adding, "and Uniqlo is one of my favorite, favorite brands." Super cool in style AND in ethics

Leandra Medine for ASOS.
Photo: Courtesy of ASOS

It's kind of embarrassing how often we look at our closet with sad, wanting puppy dog eyes and wish, The Secret style, that one day we'll have a closet like Leandra Medine, the whip smart, beyond cool blogger behind The Man Repeller. Unfortunately, however, we currently lack the funds to deck ourselves out in head to toe ready-to-wear the way Medine does (one day, though...), a fact which consistently bums us out, probably more than is healthy. The kind, gracious, wonderful people over at ASOS understand our plight, however, and had the great Man Repeller curate a collection of her favorite, most repelling pieces from their site. Sweatshirts, mutilated denim, and arm parties abound, with more refined, yet still loud, brocade and leather pieces sprinkled throughout. Although these pieces might be the opposite of repelling on their own, when styled by Medine they begin to resemble a veritable explosion.

Cindy Crawford, Tracey Ullman

Cindy Crawford plays dress-up with comedian Tracey Ullman at The Plaza Hotel in New York City in 1990.
Photo: MTV

So what if I was swaddled in diapers when House Of Style premiered in 1989? And so what if I wasn't even BORN when The Tracey Ullman Show first hit airwaves? Does that mean I can't appreciate, nay, fall COMPLETELY head-over-heels over the glowing junction of pop culture where the two intersect? Not at all. Out of the bananas deluge of classic House of Style clips we've resurrected for our collection (around 170!!), this bit from Episode 5 wherein Tracey Ullman and Cindy Crawford rendezvous at the Plaza Hotel to play dress up in seeeeerious designer duds is hands down my favorite. To the point where my face is paralyzed in a permanent smile attack and my cheeks feel like they're about to fall off and regenerate a new set.

The Man Repeller, Hilary Rhoda, and Rebecca Minkoff in their "Call Me Maybe" video.

Ever since Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Tisdale dropped their DIY "Call Me Maybe" video several months ago, the internet has been totally overloaded with kids lip synching the Carly Rae Jepsen insta-hit. And now, there's one more that's guaranteed to grab your attention and stick the song permanently back in your head: blogger Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller, model Hilary Rhoda, and designer Rebecca Minkoff created their own version of the video, which they made while getting ready for last night's CFDA Awards. This hilarious edition features dance parties, some champagne, and yep, even a real baby (it's Minkoff's son Luca)! It's kind of like when a big group of girls gets ready for a night out... but with high fashion additions like makeup artists and designer clothes.

It is midsummer, which means it's good to get a little loud and a lot crazy with color. From pants to belts to nails, we spotted bloggers everywhere sporting fluorescent fashion! We can't get enough of this trend, especially on bright summer days. With neon, there's no rules—don't be afraid to mix-and-match brights with even MORE brights, or add a neon accessory to a set of neutrals for a piece that really pops. Check out the deets on our favorite fashion-y ladies here.
