Regardless of whether or not you scored a nomination, the Golden Globes after-parties have long-provided the perfect excuse for stars to dust off that designer gown they've been meaning to wear since, like, FOREVER. (Forever meaning since it hit the Spring 2014 runways, of course.) The step-and-repeats at parties thrown by InStyle/Warner Bros. and Netflix/The Weinstein Company brought some stellar wardrobe changes from the show's attendees and a whole new set of stars who gave us plenty to swoon over. We picked out a few of our faves, which included Nina Dobrev, Taylor Swift, and two very dapper Jonas Brothers.

TROPICAL BRIGHTS

Now that the Golden Globes are over, if you need me, I'll be down by the beach sipping on a piña colada. JK. I'll be in my robe, on my couch, binge-watching something on Netflix, probably. A girl can't help but dream about bikinis and sunshine, though, especially after seeing all the bold, sunny colors that some stars showed up in for the InStyle/Warner Bros. after-party. Nikki Reed channeled the Caribbean Sea in an aqua-colored gown by Monique Lhuillier, which had a train that resembled gentle waves. (I'm not still dreaming, I swear.) Hunger Games alum, Isabelle Fuhrman, chose a canary-yellow drop-waist dress by Paper London. I can almost feel my first sunburn, can't you? Finally, former Revenge star Ashley Madekwe looked like a (super-elegant) fruity, frozen concoction in a tri-color gown by Roksanda Ilincic. Wake me up when summer comes back, kthx.

Katharine McPhee, Sarah Hyland, and Heidi Klum at the Golden Globes on Jan. 15, 2012, in Beverly Hills, California.

If there was one overwhelming trend the 2012 Golden Globes had going on, it was a serious case of the pales. Did all the stylists get together and party-phone this trend into existence or was this merely a coincidence? You could call it a parade of champagne, a pallid paradise, or a nakie-nudie FANTASIA OF FLESH TONES, but most of the dresses we spied this year were decidedly wan in the color department. Still, the ladies looked lovely!

If you squint your eyes while looking at Katharine McPhee, she totally transforms into Birthday Suit Barbie. Wearing a strapless midi, tea-length Donna Karan dress embellished with leaf-shaped sparkles and matching sky-high stiletto plats, we think she looks DAZZLING and ready for her Smash TV show. Sarah Hyland's vintage, beige lace Dolce & Gabbana gown with a black lace trim at the waist may have suffered a zipper malfunction (which had her handlers pinning her back into it on the red carpet), but she carried herself like a lady through it all. Poise! Heidi Klum was all sorts of GORGE in a wispy nude Calvin Klein dress accentuated with turquoise panache courtesy of one MAYJAH necklace by Lorraine Schwartz. But we're just getting started...there was a whole carnival of cream up in there, too.

Gossip Girl may have skipped a week last Tuesday, but we pick back up right where we left off, and the short break may have been wise because this episode was a DOOZY. Dan (Penn Badgley) is pumped up about the whirlwind success of Inside from secret publication to anonymous author reveal, script optioning, and NOW he's a top 10 bestseller. Serena (Blake Lively) and her boss Jane (Michael Michele) bring Dan in to discuss the paper-to-film transition, but the meeting turns sour as Jane tries to Glee it up and basically turn the story into Newsies. Blair (Leighton Meester), with her wedding day fast approaching, takes to the scheme board "one last time" for an elaborate bridesmaids gauntlet among select minions throughout the years and the tournament's dark horse, Charlie (aka Ivy) (Kaylee DeFer). Chuck (Ed Westwick) is seeing a therapist who has been paid off by Prince Louis (Hugo Becker) to "light his fuse" in hopes that Blair will be reminded of Chuck's monstrous side and never go back to him *cough*goodluckdude*cough*. Nate (Chace Crawford) gets huffy about his boss Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) and her unwillingness to come forward with Nate as a couple, and it aaaaall comes to a head at...you guessed it! A PARTY! It's a big episode for longtime fans, so in case you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest, but check back here weekly for our fashion recap!

Aziz Ansari Complex Magazine

Parks & Recreation star Aziz Ansari is such a caaaauuu-tay in the August/September 2011 issue of Complex it's not even funny. OK, it may be a little funny, because he hosted the 2010 Movie Awards so we're forever indebted to his hilariousness, but SERIOUSLY. Dang. Aziz. Relaaaxxx on being such a hottie. I mean, how dreamy is it to see a man in a PERFECTLY FITTED suit and tie doing domestic things like painting walls? (Is it just us, or is it kind of hot to see guys put to work?) On top of that, he's covering the "Style and Design" issue, which obviously means he's a style icon, but then we peeped him in the spread wearing Band of Outsiders (FASHION GIRL WEAKNESS), and we basically lost it.

Adam Brody at the 'Scream 4' premiere in Hollywood on April 11.
Photo: Getty Images

Remember freshman year of college when you sat in the back row of French 101, and that one dude aaaallllways managed to trickle into class five minutes after it started and made TONS of noise getting to his seat because he has headphones on and was lugging around the most random crap, some of which may or may not have been a surfboard (of all things) and you were slightly annoyed, but then when he turned around and said, "Sorry," with that little side smile so you TOTALLY forgave him and thought, "Whoa, am I into surfdude jocks now? Weird." Well, that's basically Adam Brody in a nutshell. He's the guy who noodles on his guitar while trying to learn a new language and pick up Cantonese cooking techniques while posting darling photo sets of pensive dogs on Tumblr. Super diverse interests and inscrutable and unmistakably beautiful. Observe: Mr. Brody at the Scream 4 premiere last night in Hollywood. He kept it collegiate-cool in a Theory blue and white striped shirt, black Theory V-neck sweater, khaki pants, and lace-up oxfords. But he didn't let his look get too predictable by leaving the sweater partially untucked and by sporting a little facial fuzz. Um, Adam... call me. Especially if you're not too busy doing a bajillion gorgeous hipster things that I have a TOTAL crush on. xoxo, Chrissy

Just as Fashion Week kicks off on the 14th episode of Gossip Girl, "Panic Roommate," the UES drama heats up. To score brownie points, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) schemes (in cute intern clothes—i.e. a Bensoni pencil skirt and textured Theory shorts) to get Nate to flirt with her W magazine boss to take her mind off Fashion Week. WIN. Blair's boss gets so distracted that she decides to quit W magazine, recommending Blair as her replacement. Meanwhile, Damien stirs more trouble by trying to pit Eric, Serena (Blake Lively), and Dan against Ben. FAIL. They all see that Ben actually isn't the scum that Damien makes him out to be. Then, Chuck shows Raina his softer side, so that she can get soft on buying Bass Industries with Papa Thorpe. WIN. Raina recommends Chuck be hired on at Thorpe Enterprises after the eminent merger. And as most Gossip Girl episodes do, the show culminated in a party—but not just any party. Florence and the Machine performed an acoustic rendition of "Cosmic Love" wearing a billowy black and white dress. WIN! WIN! WIN! Check out our other favorite looks from the episode...

Amid the weird UES return of Damien (the drug-dealing misfit who helped Jenny, um, ruin her life), Gossip Girl's 13th episode of season four, "Damien Darko," showed Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) looking fierce for her first few days as a fashion intern at W magazine. It didn't matter that her main duties included stapling, filing, and stuffing gift bags—Blair rocked a Valentino cardigan with pink short-shorts and patterned tights one day and a Bensoni print dress with DKNY tights on another day. But when Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) "the sixth W intern" rained on Blair's parade, proving that he can indeed tell the difference between Marc Jacobs mustard pumps and Louis Vuitton lemon stilettos, the two butt heads. The bickering culminates at a W party where the two race to impress the higher-ups first, but they both wind up getting the ax after their boss catches them fighting on the floor (Blair in a slinky BCBG dress and Dan in a Theory suit). Classy. Meanwhile, Raina Thorpe (Tika Sumpter) of Thorpe Interprises, who can seriously work a Jay Godfrey shift, continues to sleep with the enemy, Chuck Bass, amid continuous company controversy. Double classy. Who do you think looked best?

Gossip Girl's eighth episode of season 4, "Juliet Doesn't Live Here Anymore," premiered last night, and a familiar love triangle reappeared as we saw Nate (Chace Crawford) and Dan (Penn Badgley) still pining for the gorgeous Serena (Blake Lively). Speaking of Serena, she looked gorgeous while getting so much attention in a stunning steel gray Zuhair Murad dress with a lace overlay. Elsewhere, Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr opted for floral and patterned floor-length frocks by Ralph Lauren and Christian Cota, respectively. The ladies looked elegant in the gowns, but the sleeveless styles and pastel hues reminded us too much of summer, whereas Blake's gray dress was the perfect fit for fall. She definitely wore our favorite look of the episode, but what do you think? See the looks below and tell us who you thought was best dressed.
