Beyonce wearing Julien Macdonald on 'Good Morning America' in 2011.

When Beyonce's The Mrs. Carter Show tickets went on sale, you did NOT want to be in our office. It. Was. Intense. (Lots of yelling.) Needless to say, we're all really excited for Bey's shows this summer, mostly because we cannot WAIT to see what Queen Bey is going to wear! We wagered a couple of guesses (based on Bey's epic Thierry Mugler-costumed announcement images and her Rubin Singer leather look for the Super Bowl Halftime show), but it turns out neither of those looks were indicators of Bey's complete tour steez. Grazia Daily reports the superstar has tapped red carpet fave Julien Macdonald to design her tour looks. The UK designer has created performance outfits for Beyonce before, including her 2011 Good Morning America appearance (above) and 2013 New Year's Eve performance in Las Vegas.

Beyonce

As if Beyonce didn't give us enough to talk about with her leveling Super Bowl halftime performance last night (complete with a Destiny's Child reunion!), King Bey has revealed that come April, she'll be kicking off her The Mrs. Carter Show world tour. The divine Miss Bey will be hitting up major cities across Europe and the United States this spring and summer, spreading the love unleashed unto the New Orleans Superdome all along the way. How exactly did Beyonce lay the big news on us? A King Bey-themed promotional package wherein she is DRIPPING in Thierry Mugler Haute Couture, gold, and the richest cobalt blue. She released a TV spot for the UK, giving us the opportunity to see the look in motion. Though she only really wears one outfit, there's SO much going on here, we're taking it upon ourselves to break it down for you.

White-gloved handmaids lace King Bey up in a glittering gold Thierry Mugler Haute Couture SS 1997 corset that girl looks positively sewn into. The piece is exciting to us not just because it's encrusted with multi-colored gems and dangling with chandelier-esque resplendence but ALSO because the striking exaggerated silhouettes of Thierry Mugler will forever remind us of the French designer's boss lady Sasha Fierce creations for Bey's I Am...World Tour. Will Mugler be dressing Mrs. Carter for the 2013 tour? We sure hope so.

Justin Bieber for "V" magazine.
Photo: Courtesy of "V" magazine

The decibel at which my ladychild heart screams for Justin Bieber is admittedly way unhealthy (and let's face it, borderline illegal) for a woman of my age. The image of Biebs set against a backdrop of fireworks and the Magic Kingdom that's strewn across my desktop, I'm sure, doesn't help my case either, and real talk, it's only a matter of time before Justin's entire V magazine cover shoot occupies every stretch of bulletin board space flanking my work area. But why should I be ashamed of that? If you've never taken a tour of the Kidrauhl archives, you're (a) missing out and (b) probably unaware of what a legitimately talented vocalist this kid is. He may have started out a precocious little tyke, but pubescent voice changes withstanding, Bieber has the potential to ride out an impressively long-lived career.

The image of Justin as teenybopper sensation has hardly worn off yet, but as Le Biebs nears adulthood (turning 18 in March), he's already beginning to exude and carry himself with a little more maturity. I mean, it takes something more than a child to break hearts shooting "Blue Steel" from behind a cutout raw-edged Dolce & Gabbana sweater. Granted, he still has an unshakable baby face, but Bieber manages to vascillate betwixt the weirdtresting spheres of Boy and Man throughout the entire Nicola Formichetti-styled/Inez and Vinoodh-shot interview spread.

Preview of Justin Bieber's "V" magazine cover.
Photo: Courtesy of Nicola Formichetti's Facebook

We don't know about y'all, but we are GRIPPING our rolling desk chairs with white-knuckled anticipation for the release of Justin Bieber's V Magazine cover. The glossy hits stands in exactly one week, but if you're like us and already pulling out your hair thinking about how long it will take for next Thursday to roll around, here's a treat to tide you over. Along with a link to preorder this special "Music Issue," V and cover shoot stylist, Nicola Formichetti (you MAY have heard of him, IDK *intense sarcasm*), have revealed this teaser image featuring HALF of Bieber's mug. (!!!!)

Maybe it's our loopy sleeplessness from staying up all night to read Kanye's Twitter soliloquy or perhaps that taunting grin Justin is shooting our way from behind our computer screens (via a seriously Bieberlicious desktop wallpaper) that's making us so frenzied about this partial disclosure, but we are squealing with delight at the sight of this thing. It may not seem like much, but we're still getting a LOT out of just this portion of the final image.

Yasmin Le Bon, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Eva Herzigova in Duran Duran's "Girl Panic!" music video.
Photo: S-Curve Records

Ever since we peeped Harper's Bazaar UK's supermodel-adorned December issue, we've been waiting for the accompanying music FILM. Oh, yes, the '90s supes—namely Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova, and Yasmin Le Bon—were not only shot for the cover of the mag, they have a whole spread and it's all part of the MEGA (META) MUSIC VIDEO, "Girl Panic", for the MEGA BAND Duran Duran shot by video kingpin Jonas Akerlund. This nine minute explosion of fashion, music, and supAHmodel mayhem is finally here, and we've dissected it in its entirety. But before we begin, we have a little history to discuss…

Reema Ruspoli in "Rio," Christy Turlington in "Notorious," and Sheila Ming in "Hungry Like The Wolf."
Photo: EMI

Yes, these photos look slightly weird and out of place, and they should. They're from the '80s! It should be known that Duran Duran ORIGINATED the whole models starring in videos thing. At the beginning of their music career, they were well-known in Europe but had yet to break into the U.S. market, and it was their stylish videos (featuring models) which caught the eye of MTV, which was then in its infancy. MTV put Duran Duran's vids in heavy rotation, and the band and the network both experienced marked success. Videos for "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Rio" were gigantic hits and featured models frolicking in face paint, and the video for "Notorious" starred supermodel Christy Turlington. But the supes in "Girl Panic" take the notion to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. They actually play the band and do some heavy duty acting, too, each one talking and behaving like their real-life band member counterparts (cue champagne parties, lounging on hotel carts, waking up outside on some steps, and whipping through the streets of London in a Rolls) while groupies in lingerie sleep all over things. This is LE ROCK and LE Roll, people, and we like it. Come take a look at all the decked-out debauchery…

A still from Beyoncé's 'Countdown' music video.
Photo: Courtesy of Columbia Records

Oh man. Beyoncé. Could she BE more outrageously happy. Everything about this ‘Countdown’ video is so triumphant and good mood making. That glow? That ‘I am gestating and making sentience in my belly because I am a magical lady’ glow? Something about it on Bey is just the winningest and the fact that in this candy salad of ‘60s pop art, she’s so vital and strong and CUTE the whole time makes the single that much more earwormier.

From the retro side-swept mini bangs, to the ENORMOUS lined eyes, to the almond-shaped PUMPKIN-colored nails, all the way to the syncopated dancing in vibrant monochrome which winks back to that iconic Audrey Hepburn sequence in Funny Face, we can’t help but get all the way waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay into this jam. And, thanks to our pal Ty Hunter, Beyonce’s hallowed stylist and all around wonderfuldude, we’ve got all the fashion credits (oh, HELLO Thierry Mugler black and white gonzo hammock sleeved dress) as well as a tidbit from the shoot’s incredible makeup artist Francesca Tolot.

Nicola Formichetti gets ready for the Thierry Mugler Paris Fashion Week show.
Photo: Courtesy of Nicola Formichetti's Facebook

As I type, Little Monsters and Thierry Mugler/Nicola Formichetti fans across the globe are biting their nails (dynamite though they obvi are) and wetting their lips in anticipation of today's Paris Fashion Week show and the reveal of Lady Gaga's newest short film and remix. The white-knuckled intensity as the 9:00 p.m. Paris showtime (That's 3:00 p.m. EST if you're too harrowed and excited to mess with time zone conversions. Also, here's a warm face towel to calm your furrowing brow.) quickly approaches is insane, but thankfully Nicola, the adorable panda-loving creative director extraordinaire, has been tumbling TONS of behind-the-scenes pics and videos for our greedy eyes' enjoyment in lead-up. For example, we found THIS amazeballs snapshot of a FinalCut window with a still of three Gaga heads that we can only assume/cross our fingers/hope to the high heavens is a still from the new short film premiering today (I meannn, the middle head's hair is EXACTLY the same as the 'do peeking around the clapboard in the teaser image released last week, AMIRITE??). PLUS, peep a video of the Mugler show location after the jump!

The sartorially minded master of surprise Lady Gaga has yet another trick up her sleeve, this one set to debut at next month's Paris Fashion Week. Mother Monster will be unveiling a new short film during the Spring 2012 Mugler fashion show. Directed by the renowned Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin (under the lovingly watchful eye of Nicola Formichetti, of course), the film is said to introduce a never-before released Lady Gaga track. SQUEEEE!

Lady Gaga's Meat Dress.

• This week we celebrated our first birthday! The selfless beings that we are here at MTV Style (to be read with intense sarcasm), we find it better to give than to receive. Thus, we presented our GIF to you as a sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every one of you who loves fashion at full volume and has put up with all 119 instances of the word "glitter" on this blog.

• What week is Justin Bieber NOT king? Regardless, this was a big one for the Biebs as he finally released his much-anticipated women's perfume, Someday. Our friends at Buzzworthy tested it out on a few strangers in Time Square in a video you just can't miss! Justin also sported a T-shirt of '90s teen queen Tiffani Thiessen, who then RETURNED THE FAVOR (oh yes, we are still excited about it) by wearing a Bieber tee of her own! No word on when Justin Bieber will one-up Tiffani with the (totally meta) move of wearing a T-shirt of her wearing a T-shirt of him, but we'll be there if/when it happens.

• We caught up personally with a few style stars this week. NBD. *awkwardly brushes shoulders off in an attempt to be nonchalant* Robyn, despite all of our girlish swooning, took some time to speak with us about her cray-mazing personal style from fancy underpants to custom Timbs. And we all developed even bigger girl-crushes on Kreayshawn after she may or may not have TOTALLY SCHOOLED US at liquid eyeliner application. We're unsettlingly competitive so the loss REALLY stings, but for her, we put it aside.

• We analyzed the video fashions of two women idolized by girls everywhere: Britney Spears and Miss Piggy. We broke down Brit's new punk rock look for her "I Wanna Go" music video down to each and every last safety pin. And Miss Piggy brought her fashion game as a 'Vogue Paris' editor in the new Muppets trailer.

• Finally, we (yet again) ogled a wholeeee LOTTA boys, high-fashion boys at that. The D&G models at this week's Milan show charged down the runway like a shirtless army that we definitely wouldn't mind pretending to fend off. The Versace show drew in a seriously studly front row (umm HAI Chace Crawford and Darren Criss). Aaannndd Nicola Formichetti's new campaign video for Mugler is basically porn, and we're not mad about it.

That's it for this week! Thanks for the birthday wishes and for a truly amazing year! Have a great weekend and we'll see you back here on Monday! xoxo

Sensitive eyes beware, because Nicola Formichetti's Spring/Summer Menswear collection is not meant for polite, demure society. Instead, the collection (his second—the first, if you recall, introduced the world to Rico The Zombie and premiered Gaga's "Scheiße" tune) had lots of form-fitting half-shirts, space-age pants, and pointy creepers for the boys. The clothes are wild, and distinctly Formichetti. But we don't really care about that. What interests us, today, is the video he released to tease the season. The clips (in both the trailer and full-length versions) featured so much glistening manflesh that the entire feature is fully NSFW.

Gorgeous Adonises play in sand and sport "Mugler" medals while listening to Schubert's "Piano Trio No. 2 in E flat major," and then suddenly an electro beat comes in and a fierce, dark-haired temptress appears to seduce our barely clad models. The siren is Miss Nomi Ruiz, singer of the band Jessica 6 (whose song accompanied both the video and the runway show, which is a new shift for Nicola's former Gaga-only diet). Nomi, it appears, is primed to be Formichetti's newest muse, and the designer sought her and her band out specifically for the shoot. And what she told us about the shoot is so hot we can't even feature it on the first page.
