Emma Watson recently admitted to owning only EIGHT pairs of shoes, because how many four-inch, black leather, almond toe pumps does one need, anyway? Looking at you, Mariah. {Vogue UK}

TOMS, the "one for one" pioneers who gave a household name to sensible canvas slippers, celebrated its 10 millionth shoe giveaway this week. Claps for good karma. {Telegraph}

• Apparently, you have a “birthday shoe” and apparently it says a lot about you. Just ask the experts of Shoestrology. {Amazon}

• In defense of the Birkenstock and Teva, one fashion editor wrote an inspiring ode to ugly shoes (still no Crocs, though). {Refinery29}

• And finally, a would-be robber in Atlanta was shot (in alleged self defense) by a customer waiting to buy LeBron X Denim sneakers. The customer(/hero?) then continued to wait in line for his sneakers because he didn't wake up early for NOTHING. {Huffington Post}

Election time is officially upon us, and you know that means— get ready to get your vote on! After you've registered (nudge, nudge), the next practical step is obviously to go shopping. We already talked about how Urban Outfitters has got you covered if you're still not sure who you're voting for. But if you want to rep your favorite political party (or just feel like showing some patriotism), check out the latest from TOMS. The do-good brand has just debuted its new Vote 2012 collection of comfy handmade slipons, and they're cute, comfy, and each pair is custom-screened by L.A. design company Hit & Run. At just $58 each, you can bet these kicks will carry us WAY past Election Day.

Chances are you're already familiar with Toms shoes. Not only do these comfortable, easygoing slip-ons and lace-ups come in a variety of styles for men and women, each pair purchased gives a pair of new shoes to a child in need. Founded by traveler Blake Mycoskie in 2006, the company utilizes a revolutionary One for One way of doing business. For every product sold, they match that product for someone in need (one person buys, one person is helped). Whether you buy Toms shoes for fashion or to do a good deed by giving a pair to a child in Argentina, either way, this transaction is a very good thing. What's even better is that Toms is now expanding into eyewear. And not only are the styles well-designed and completely covetable, if you purchase a pair it will help give someone in need the gift of SIGHT.

• Whoaohoh! Adele looks mazin' in the April issue of InStyle (shot by Eric Traore), where she's demonstrating how to wear violet makeup like it's nobody's business. {Coco Perez}

• TOMS shoes creator Blake Mycoskie sure knows how to leave you in suspense. He recently announced that the company would be branching out from shoes, but he won't give details until June 7! Patience is NOT our virtue. {Fashionologie}

• Denim wax strips make the gawd-awful procedure of a bikini wax less painful, discovers journalist (our own field reports pending). {Allure}

• Didn't make it on Project Runway?...or The Fashion Show? You're in luck—NBC is casting amateur and professional designers for a new competition show. {The Cut}

• Fashion designer Nicole Miller is capitalizing on the whole social media thing—she's smartly launched Nicole Miller TV, where fans can get a closer look into her world. Studio time and private dinner parties abound. {Fashionista}

• Monique Lhullier snaps up another celeb-bride-to-be. Reese Witherspoon has reportedly chosen to wear one of the designer's gowns when she gets hitched to CAA Agent Jim Toth. Done and done (eh-hmm, Kate Middleton). {Us}

• Were we the only ones that didn't know that Giorgio Armani owned a basketball team?! The Milan-based squad is called the Olimpia Armani Jeans. That is all. {Refinery}

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
