Harmony Korine, the auteur behind Spring Breakers and Kids, directed Dior's latest fragrance ad. The commercial features a model wandering around a decked-out mansion before stumbling across a secret garden where a heavily remixed version of Die Antwoord's "Enter the Ninja" drops in. The last time Korine was tapped to direct a fashion film was 2011, for Proenza Schouler. It was widely panned.

Still: Christian Dior's Youtube channel

Korine's films tackle issues like poverty, mental illness, and dysfunctional families. He isn't a traditional filmmaker: His work is non-linear, experimental, and surrealist with elements of Vaudevillian minstrelsy, dark humor, and absurdism. In other words, he's never been one for mainstreamers, so it's interesting to see him so restrained. In honor of Harmony Korine, here's a roundup of other outlandish fashion films. This one's for the weirdos. Mazel.

Let's start off simple. In 2001, when the only songs by French robotic duo Daft Punk on your radar was the house favorite "One More Time" or the meme bait "Harder Better Faster Stronger", they were tapped by Gap along with Juliette Lewis to shill jeans. Oh 2001, what a year to be alive.

Lizzy Caplan

Lizzy Caplan in Viva Vena's new fashion film
Photo: Via Matthew Frost Vimeo.

Just as the curtain of runway glamour opens on New York City and street style peacocking invades sidewalks, the internet has officially bestowed a lump of GOLD onto our laps! This virtual gem comes courtesy of Veva Cava, who are serving up a refreshing New York Fashion Week palette cleanser with their new campaign for Viva Vena. Starring our MTV Style crush Lizzy Caplan, this clever, hilarious, and totally good-humored parody of "serious" fashion films hits all the right notes, starting with the faux "Best Fashion Film Festival Ever" award at the beginning to her oh-so-trendy flower crown idly floating away at the end (~*symbolism*~). These vintage typewriters, ribbon dancing, and Lizzy's empty expressions might be hilarious, but you know what's NOT a joke? Viva Vena's really cute clothes, which debut later this month. For now, watch the video in all its tongue-in-cheek glory below and just TRY not to crack up...

Here at MTV Style, we pride ourselves on dropping knowledge about all the hottest designer collaborations to hit the wires from Versace x H&M to Jeremy Scott x Adidas. Today, we're giving you something a little different, but MAY-JOR nonetheless. April is National STD Awareness Month, so what better time than now to talk about Proper Attire's designer condom collections? So far Vena Cava, Keith Haring, Mara Hoffman, Charlotte Ronson, and many more designers have joined forces with Proper Attire for sets of condoms (in a variety of styles from basic to sheer to ribbed to XL), protecting users from increased risk of STD transmission AND benefitting the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Last night's Gossip Girl was somewhat of a transitionary episode, but nonetheless brimming with juicy dramz. Kicking things off with Serena's (Blake Lively) new gig working at the Spectator for Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) who wants Serena to start a blog to rival GG herself (sidenote: is it just me or is there a weird "gotta catch 'em all" feel to Diana's Spectator staffing?). Diana nabbed Serena after her former job with Jane (Michael Michele) fell through when she halted production on the film version of Dan's (Penn Badgley) book. Dan's supposed to be out on a book tour but has apparently been missing meet and greets. Maybe dropping off the bestseller list hurt his pride?

Charlie (aka Ivy) (Kaylee DeFer) has gotten herself wrapped up in a cougar love triangle with Diana and Nate (Chace Crawford) which, with the sudden reappearance of Ivy's ex-boyfriend Max, can only lead to major trouble for her secret double life. Prince Louis (Hugo Becker) is away on business, and with his recent slip to the dark and scheming, and Chuck's (Ed Westwick) public turning of a new leaf, Blair (Leighton Meester) is *cough* once again *cough* conflicted about her choice (though she'd never admit that). Blair plans to reveal that the real Chuck Bass still exists deep down. Just about everything comes to a head at Chuck's masked masquerade party slash play, but if you haven't caught up, we won't spoil the rest for you. Check back here weekly for our fashion recap!

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have plenty to celebrate. Not only were they cleared of tax fraud, but Justin Bieber has been wearing their designs religiously to red carpet events. To show their gratitude, the duo is throwing a major shindig for JB this weekend. We can't wait to peep party pics! {Coco Perez}

Uniqlo is partnering with nine big-time fashion names (including Vena Cava, Charlotte Ronson, and Costello Tagliapietra) on a series of supercute dresses priced at $29.99 each. Nope, that is not a typo. {Huffington Post}

Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field has hooked up with Kotex to redesign the "bland" maxi pad. Got your own ideas for those white wings? Kotex is accepting your designs, too—three girls will work with Ms. Field on the pantyliner overhaul. Whoever said that fashion was glamorous? {Huffington Post}

• We like the smell of bacon (especially on a sunny Sunday...BRONCH!); and, we like the smell of several fragrances. But a bacon-scented EDP? Hmmmm... {Racked}

• No wonder tots dressing better than their parents are all over the headlines. Fashion plates like Diane von Furstenberg are designing their pint-size threads. {Glamour}

Rachel Bilson takes a cue from Natalie Portman circa Black Swan in her new Magnum ice cream film, a short directed by Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld. Ballet, ice cream, and Karl Lagerfeld...we REALLY can't wait to see how it all comes together {People StyleWatch}

• Going through images of Madewell's '70s-inspired Fall 2011 collection is making us all weepy and nostalgic for autumn. Yeah, we've lost our minds. {FabSugar}

Project Runway has Heidi Klum, but NBC's new reality show Fashion Star will have Elle Macpherson. So booyah! {Styleite}

• New York Fashion Week has officially begun, and we've been keeping a daily diary of all the hottest happenings! So far, Vena Cava got glitter happy, JWOWW closed the Richie Rich show, and Nicholas K nailed it with black polish.

• Our favorite blondie Julia Stiles ditched her long sideswept 'do for some face-framing bangs. Do you like?

• Actresses have been doubling as fashion muses lately, and we can't get enough! This week, two of our favorite leading ladies (Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning) have landed fashion house gigs: BOY by Band of Outsiders and Rodarte. Get it, girls!

• What were those hot hustlers up to this week? Usher stepped out with his two most stylish accessories—his kids, the Jonas brothers showed off their Super Bowl style, Miguel sported some out-of-this-world ensembles, and Alex Pettyfer proved he's more than just a pretty face.

• Our favorite Upper East Siders are at it again! Who looked best on this week's Gossip GirlSerena, Blair or... Florence and the Machine?

• Spring trends are finally gearing up! This week we loved: satin stilettos, feminine florals, and full flush blush.

• Always wanted to look like a celeb? Well, now you can! Get Kat Graham's in-your-face statement necklace, Cee Lo Green's rose stud earrings, or Hailee Steinfeld's red hot pumps.

• The fashion face-offs continue, and this week it was ALL about Kim Kardashian. Who looked best: Kim Kardashian vs. Emma Watson or Kim Kardashian vs. herself?

• We've rounded up the top looks from the biggest events this week: Michelle Williams and Jennifer Lawrence go beige and black at the Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon, Selena Gomez and Cassie Scerbo go short and sweet at the Justin Bieber: Never Say Never premiere, and Heidi Klum and Nicky Hilton bust out the spring essentials at a Lucky launch party.

If you need a fashion show break, watch the BIGGEST show this weekend—the Grammys! We can't wait to see who wears what on the red carpet.

New York Fall 2011 Fashion Week is in full swing (yay!), and we're hitting the tents and following the live streams to bring you the hottest trends, neat backstage beauty finds and the best-dressed front-rowers.

• Hippy-dippy accessories (turbans, John Lennon shades, etc.) gave Mara Hoffman's fall collection a serious bohemian vibe.

• Our personal fave is this slouchy, wrap sweater dress. Cute, right?

• Hard to see, but worth mentioning: to go along with the dark color palette, the models fingertips were dipped in black dye. Weird, but cool.

• Check out caftans, knits, and other cool looks from the collection here.

• The mantra, "a little goes a long way," did not apply at Vena Cava's fall runway show, where makeup artists covered models' lids and bottom lash lines with LOADS of multi-colored glitter.

• Sparkly makeup can quickly and easily go all wrong (hence, the models steady tilted head and hair clips). But Vena Cava teamed the princess-grunge makeup look with leather toppers, suede jackets, and platforms, making it SO right.

• Fashion blogger Bryanboy arrived at the Rachel Comey fashion show in black leggings, a fuzzy-collared fur coat (tons of attendees have been rocking fur, by the way), a gray striped tee, and 3-D-style sunglasses. But the crowning jewel of his ensemble was his curly fro wig.

Models on the runways for the Derek Lam, Prada, and Vena Cava Spring 2011 shows.
Photo: Getty Images

Here's a good one: What do you get when you mate a ballet flat with a platform? A "flatform"! Hahaha...nudge-nudge...wink-wink. All joking aside, flatforms just might be the next big thing in footwear. In fact, recently reported that dozens of models were seen stomping down many a Spring 2011 runway, including Derek Lam's, Vena Cava's, and Prada's, wearing flatforms. But, other than singer (and known fashion risk-taker) Robyn, who was spotted performing in flatforms last year, there haven't been many celebs slipping their tootsies into this tall order footwear. Why not? Who knows. Since they're flat, they're super-comfy; they're versatile enough to be worn with anything from corduroys to flippy skirts; and they make the vertically challenged (us!) appear taller. What's not to love?

• It's Christmas in August! Not really. But we kinda thought so when we saw Rihanna step out in bright red hair and an even brighter green dress. {Rihanna Daily}
