We're WELL aware that it's been almost a week now since Miu Miu drew in throngs of stylish young Hollywood womenfolk for its formal screening of "Muta" by Lucrecia Martel. Believe us, no one (NO ONE) clicked through the images of cute girl after cute girl pining over the contents of their wardrobes for a longer time or with more unbridled fashion lust as Team Style. Impeccable dresses and well-tressed coiffures aside, what continues to haunt our dreams TO THIS VERY DAY is the event's dangerously spot-on shoe candy, illustrated most impressively by the face of Miu Miu herself, Hailee Steinfeld. Actress-model Camilla Belle and stylish starlet Ashley Tisdale brought the foot game solidly, as well.
The unexpected heel shapes are what make each of these Miu Miu shoes so interesting. Instead of running that regular game with skinny stilettos, platform wedges, yadda yadda what have you, we're privvy to more uncommon architecture. Hailee's nude patent peeptoes could have been written off as safe (read: zzzzzzz) until BLADOW, she turns to the side and the shoes are rendered infinitely more fascinating by a curveball flared heel. Camilla Belle breathes some youth into a '40s-style floral Miu Miu dress with a pair of GLITTERY (caps lock fully intended and warranted) silver pumps. More than that, though, the shoes feature an artfully bowed out heel which supplies a dose of modernity to her vintage-y frock.
Finally, Ashley Tisdale absolutely nails it in these sueded eggplant peeptoes. The square bow and delicate Mary-Jane strap sweetly compliment her cotton A-line ASOS dress, but without the refreshing flared heel, the girly look could look weirdly fuddy-duddy and/or infantile. Instead, the pumps are emphatically feminine without being saccharine. Basically, we want them. Badly. These are The Ryan Gosling of Shoes as far as we're concerned, and we know that doesn't need any explanation.
