Remember when Katy Perry used to dress up in candy and cupcakes and shoot whipped cream out of her bustier? *nostalgic sigh* Well, it looks like those days are a little far off (for now, at least), and while you can relive them in game form, the IRL Katy has moved from her blue period to a purple one that's more, in her own words, "goth".

Katy attended last night's NARM Music Biz Awards where she was honored with the esteemed title of "Artist of the Year" (and swaggy crystal statue to boot!), and contrary to her formerly bubblegum pink persona, KP dressed more like a guest on throwback SNL's "Goth Talk" (or The Craft!) in a black self-striped gown with sleeves, deep bordeaux lips, and dark eyeliner. Granted, she's throwing up the sign of the horns in this Twitpic which is *pushes up glasses with one finger on the nose bridge* technically more of a heavy metal move, but that's neither here nor there.
She accessorizes with a pewter rosary necklace and spiked Louboutin peeptoes, and rather than the chippy all-black nail common of the gothic steez, Katy opted for a black French tip mani. It's a bit more of a glamorous update, with her impeccable beauty game, hair with nary a flyaway, and designer heels, but this is superstar Katy Perry with a Michael-Jackson-tieing record of five singles from a single album after all.
