There are a few things that you can always count on Katy Perry to deliver in spades: ear-wormy pop music, commitment to a theme, and killer nail art. Miss KP had a big weekend, performing for both UCLA's Hammer Gala AND President Barack Obama's "30 Days To Victory Concert," but it was at Mr. President's star-studded Sunday night fundraiser that Katy hit that homerun trifecta. Case in point: this INCREDIBLE red-white-and-blue, Obama'nicure.
Katy tweeted her performance nails with the caption "Appropriate nails," and we couldn't agree more. They're appropriate for the event, sure, but even more so for Katy herself. KP has a long track record of being unabashedly patriotic from her VH1 Divas Salute the Troops performances to her star-spangled Part of Me movie release and poster, but these Obama nails have to be one of our favorite manifestations of her well-storied love of the U-S-of-A. These nails don't just mix prints (SO on-trend, Katy *golf clap*) with Americana stars, stripes, and Dem donkeys, but they also feature photo portraits of The Chief himself (a motif Katy is kiiiind of the queen at, see her Royal Wedding nails for a refresher). Katy's election-festive nail art is part of the Minx Nails special edition Presidential Collection which comes in Obama and Romney iterations you can cop yourself for just $19.95!
