HAI INTERNET! *waves* Whew, it feels like we've been apart forever (OK, it's been, like, a week), but I'm really excited to kick off 2013 with a blog post featuring one of my most favorite peeps of all time, Ms. Lana Del Rey. And, no, this is not just another celeb spotting of the singer sporting her signature retro waves and a short white frock, this is Lana gracing the cover of Rolling Stone Mexico wearing nothing but--wait for it--long johns. You read that right, people. Long. Johns. She wore a cropped, ribbed white sweater with silver trimmed long underwear, gold hoops, a watch, and, well, not much else. She kept her beauty game super soft and simple with center-parted locks, a killer cat eye and nude lips. She finished the entire look with an aerobic-inspired pose and a super wide smile. Get it, girl.
But, like, can I get real for a second and talk about how Rolling Stone mag is obsessed/addicted/really, really in love with putting their cover stars in ONLY plain white, all-American clothing? See: Jennifer Lawrence in a see-through white tank and jeans last March, Justin Bieber in a white tank (TWICE!), Snooki in a white, tied-up blouse and matching cutoff shorts in 2011, and Taylor Swift in--you guessed it--a white T-shirt and shorts this past November. I mean, it's not like I hate seeing celebs stripped down to the bare basics, but I just want to, you know, throw it out there. Let 'em know what's going on and that we're totally seeing a trend here. (Three bucks says we'll see Kimye together in a pregnant couple pic wearing nothing but solid white tees come fall.) But what do you think--do you like Lana's stripped down look?
