Beyonce + glitter explosions + a hair-flip to beat all hair-flips. No, that's not JUST the afternoon we're having, that's a very brief synopsis of a new video making the internet rounds. A new video which maaay be the first commercial for Bey's newest fragrance, Rise. As we sit here playing the 30-second clip on a constant loop, we can only wish and hope that the gilded promo is the real deal.
The commercial begins with a dramatic chord synched up with a slow-motion eye flicker. And then. We are graced with our first glitter explosion. While we can't be 100% sure, we're guessing this is what the creation of the universe (and/or Beyonce) must have looked like.
Enter Miss Bey issuing wise words in dulcet tones: "You can let yourself disappear, or you can stir things up." Spoiler alert: She's going to stir things up. Literal things! Glitter! Amidst several shots of shapeshifting gold dust, she throws us a couple more super-fierce poses.
"Never settle," Beyonce continues over more dramatic music. This is the point in the ad where you realize: OMG, the glitter is Beyonce HERSELF, rising out of the sparkly ashes like a phoenix that wears thigh-high gladiator sandals and an Amazonian bodysuit with a train. This is also when you pat yourself on the back for seeing that nod to the creation theory from a mile away.
"Shake loose." Insert at least three hair-flips here, including one FULL 180-degree flip because her neck apparently knows no bounds. "Embrace the elements, because from now on, you will always..." What's she gonna say what's she gonna say WHAT'SSHEGONNASAY??? "Rise." The utterance of the fragrance name is timed up perfectly with a King Bey smize that may or may not be illegal in 17 states.
After an announcement from a man we don't care about, because he's not Beyonce, the
roller coaster of emotions commercial comes to an end. And THAT, boys and girls, is how you sell a perfume.
We'll keep holding our collective breaths for the ~official~ ad release from Bey's reps, but this teaser of a vid will definitely keep us happy until then.
