When we heard that Kristen Stewart was going to be the face of Chanel's Métiers d'Art Paris-Dallas collection back in December, we were both excited and skeptical. Kristen and Karl Lagerfeld joining forces = yay! K.Stew and Uncle Karl joining forces for a rodeo-inspired line of clothing = huh? Sure, Kristen loves her leather and denim, but she doesn't exactly give off dude-ranch ~cowgirl~ vibes. But we decided to trust Karl's decision, and assuming the photos that leaked on Instagram are the real deal, we were right to do so. (Oh Karl, you never lead us astray.)
In the photos, Kristen seems strangely comfortable in all of the Paris-Dallas pieces, including voluminous, tiered, ruffled prairie skirts, cowboy boots, and LOTS of fringe. Also, her hair is styled in some sort of cornrow-meets-mullet situation. Karl is officially a miracle worker. The campaign—which is officially due out this May—was shot by Mr. Lagerfeld himself, and if this is it, he really used the actress' broody demeanor to his advantage. In these photos, Kristen takes her signature "over it" face to a whole new high-fashion level.
We can't wait to see what this K+K collaboration will turn out next. American-flag jumpsuits? Bald-eagle purses? Only time will tell.
