We've known about Katy Perry's Prismatic World Tour since November. For half a year we've wondered what she'll wear on tour, suspected that she was subtly previewing her wardrobe, and even offered suggestions for what she should wear. With 10 days to go before the tour kicks off in Belfast, Ireland, Katy has finally given us a preview of one of her stage ensembles. And oh, NBD, it's Valentino.
Katy posted on Instagram a sketch of a dress and cape (a silhouette we called in January, BTW) that Valentino designed for the tour. The dress is sheer with colorful butterflies attached to the skirt, while the outer shell of the cape appears to be sparkly silver. The cape's lining is also butterfly-inspired, with a set of colorful wings printed (or perhaps embroidered/embellished?) on the inside.
This isn't Katy's first butterfly-heavy look—in the video for "Wide Awake," she wore butterfly hair accessories and rings. "Happiness is like a butterfly," according to the description next to the sketch, which seems to be a mantra Katy lives by. Whether Valentino designed multiple outfits for the tour remains to be seen, but considering how well Katy pulls of the designer's creations (see: her sheer Grammys dress), it definitely seems like a possibility.
