As you know full well, MTV Style's 2011 Prom Coverage has been barreling full steam since Monday, to where you couldn't even believe how thoughtful and considerate we were to collect these thoughts, stories, and galleries for you. We unveiled the 12 most memorable movie prom dresses and showcased the 20 best prom dresses for under $100. We presented you with the fashion credits and crying-while-you-laugh DRAMZ of MTV's feature-length film, 'Worst. Prom. Ever.' Today, we got more GEMS in do-it-yourself hair so if you blew your whole budget on shoes, it'll still be smooooooth (or cute-wavy) sailing.

The last thing you want your prom hairdo to remind people (mostly your hot date) of is a poodle or a maid of honor at an unfortunate wedding in the 1950s or Marge Simpson (which is OK if--and only if-- you're Nicki Minaj) or some sort of curlicue breakfast danish. So, here's an idea: Skip the stuffy updos altogether--and save buckets of bucks for things like killer shoes or a strawberry-scented facial instead--with one of these super-simple DIY mane ideas. Problem solved. Plus, you won't be plucking painful pins out of your head for HOURS after the Big Night.

If you were as obsessed with Barbies as a kid as we were, then you know how to braid. Put your skills to good use by creating a loose, side braid in your locks for prom night. Start by curling your hair (at least shoulder length) with a large barrel curling iron. Then make a deep-side part and finger-comb all of your hair to the opposite side of the part. Braid your hair over your shoulder and tie off the end with an elastic that matches your hair hue. Don't freak if pieces fall out around your hairline--it will give the style an instant dose of romance.

There are so many other things to worry about on prom night. Have you learned how to "Dougie" yet?!? Instead of wrestling with frizzy strands all night, make them a part of your look. Grab a jar of aloe gel (it's the most moisturizing kind) and rub a little through your palms. Then, slick strands into a smooth ponytail. But, leave the tail HUGE/PUFFY/GLORIOUSLY FRIZZY. Spray the slicked part with a little anti-humidity spray, then forget about your hair and DANCE.

Soooooo you spent all of your prom-planning time plotting out your dress, shoes, makeup, nails, corsage, restaurant reservations, transportation, etc.; leaving you with 1.4983 seconds to plan your hair? Instead of trying to figure out what to do with ALL of your hair, focus on your bangs only. And, believe it or not, your options are limitless... If you don't have bangs, pull out a pair of scissors or those clip-on joints. If you have long bangs that part in the middle, change it to a side part. And if you have short, brow-skimming bangs, sweep them to one side and spray them with light hold hairspray so that they stay put.

When you don't know what to do with your hair or what kind of jewelry to rock, meld the two together with hair accessories. Slip on a Swarovski crystal headband, a glittery brooch (which is so old/new school by the way), or a metallic ponytail holder for a bit of instant sparkle. But don't go overboard--one bauble will keep your look interesting, but not over-the-top tacky.

Tousled, beachy waves are easier than you think. Plus, there aren't 50 million fussy pins to mess with! Start by separating hair into 2-inch sections. Spray each section with a light hold hairspray, before wrapping it around a curling iron and holding it there for 10 seconds. After you've curled all of your hair, spritz your roots with a salt-water spray to create piece-y texture, fluff to style, and BE OUT.

Surprise, surprise (or not really)—the Gossip Girl drama got hot on last night's episode, "Shattered Bass." After being contacted by Raina Thorpe (Tika Sumpter), Jack Bass (Chuck Bass' evil uncle) threatened to destroy Chuck (Ed Westwick). While called by Raina, Jack went behind her back to scheme with her father Russell Thorpe to bring down Chuck. Or so we thought. Jack and Chuck were actually working together to get the truth from Russell, which was that he started the fire that killed Raina's mother. Confused? Yeah, we were too. Moving on...

Complications arose when Charlie Rhodes (Kaylee DeFer) (who chucked her mystery meds mid-episode) was invited by Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) to the fancy-schmancy Constance Billard alumni fund-raiser. Charlie, obviously in need of her Rx, showed up to the party wearing Serena van der Woodsen's (Blake Lively) Pamela Dennis gold cotillion gown with a Serena-esque ponytail to boot.

Meanwhile, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) was torn between the men in her life—she continued to worry about Chuck's well-being, while pledging her allegiance to her prince (who she worried would think that her visits with Chuck would come across in the wrong way).

While others may be pondering the contents of these bright totes--packs of Juicy Fruit? Conair mini flat iron? Lysol hand sanitizer? YSL mascara? Dental floss? Crystal Light? Glow in the dark sunglasses? Phone charger? ChapStick? Apple slices? We could care less about what is stashed inside of these bloggers' sunny oversize clutches. What we really want to it the bag that makes each of them look like a professional, I-make-loads-of-$$$-doing-this-ish catalogue model? For real. It's like the tote harnesses these magical powers that allows the bearer to stand a little straighter, smize just right, and pop their hip out all Tyra Banks-style. We. Need. These. Bags.

Delmy Rivera of Fashion Bananas
Blog: Twitter: @Delmy_Rivera.
A Bronx-based blogger and freelance makeup artist (Hello! Check out her to-die-for brows and perfectly pink pout), Delmy's style picks ranges from tomboy to girly-girl. Here, she mixes the two aesthetics by accessorizing a rugged J.crew chambray shirt and Topshop skinny jeans with a ladylike pair of DVF sandals and a candy apple red Kooba clutch.

Taylor Sterling of Sterling Style
Blog: Twitter: @SterlingStyle1.
Taylor is a Bay Area blogger with a penchant for all that glitters (we sooooo couldn't tell by looking at her blazer. JK). But, we think that her yellow, studded Club Monaco clutch, which, incidentally, doesn't sparkle at all, TOTALLY outshines (in a brilliant kind of way) her shimmering H&M jacket and blue button-up.

Rachel LaRoche of Ordinarily Urbane
Blog: Twitter: @RachLaRoche.
"Accessible and uncomplicated style for the everygirl," is New Orleans-based blogger Rachel's mantra and we <3 her for it. Girlfriend not only cares about her fellow fashion plates, but she freakin' aced the color combo in this ensemble. But, go figure...our two favorite pieces--the striped wide leg shorts and orange clutch were scored at a clothing swap (so we'll never know where we can scoop them up for ourselves...frownie face BUT at least we're inspired to be equally intrepid in the future!).

We can't help but think that last night's episode of Gossip Girl, "The Princesses and the Frog," was inspired (just a little?) by a real-life wedding that went down a few days ago in London-town. To start it off, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) fell head over heels for Prince Louie from France, setting herself on the fast track to princess-dom. But Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) tried to sabotage Blair's fairy-tale dreams by telling Prince Louie's mother about her possible daughter-in-law's many indiscretions as chronicled by Gossip Girl's text messages over the years. Still, Blair managed to get an invite (and rocked a fierce Jenny Packham frock) to a ball hosted by the French royal family. Everything went according to plan, until a tipsy Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) showed up to cause a scene, nearly ruining Blair's chances with the prince.

Meanwhile, Charlie Rhodes (Kaylee Defer) and Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) became friendly; so did Charlie and Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr). Vanessa vowed to help Charlie snag Dan. Hmmmm... sounds sketchy. Yep! It was sketchy. To show off her GF material, Charlie volunteered to make pizza for Dan's dad and prospective biz partners (band members), but Vanessa advised her against it, saying that she should do a fancy catered dinner with caviar instead. Or, so we thought it was Vanessa's idea. Charlie actually made up the whole damsel-in-distress situation, putting Vanessa on the hot seat. Not even on the show for a full season, and Charlie's already a bona fide backstabber.

Finally, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) found himself torn between his relationship with Raina Thorpe (Tika Sumpter), who is dead set on looking for her biological mother, and his loyalty to Chuck who found out that Raina's mom and Chuck's dad were having an affair before she was allegedly killed in a building fire. DRAAAAAAMA.

When we first heard that denim tops were a thing again, we thought, SERIOUSLY? The same shirts made popular in the early '90s, teamed with black 501s, lace camisoles and Doc Martens? Really? We thought we'd pass. But then we started seeing all of these celebs looking supercute in the chambray button-up. And THEN, we started peeping all of these style bloggers wearing 'em in hyper-unique, modern ways. Yeeeeaaah, we're kinda sold now.

Ehmonie Hainey of What's Haute
Blog: Twitter: @WhatsHaute.
When blogger Ehmonie first pulled out this drawstring Prototype top, she'd planned to pair it with jeans (i.e. to take advantage of the denim-on-denim trend). But in a game point decision she complemented it with an $11 Gap skirt, a lightning print Risto scarf, turquoise jewelry and a blue Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag. Well played.

Laura Wainman of A La Mode Et Plus!

Style blogger Laura dreams of living in Paris with a wonderful man, writing for glossies, and owning a closet full of Louboutins and Chanel purses. TAKE US WITH YOU! In the meantime, she throws together ensembles that are just as comfy as they are cute. She wore her Madewell shirt over an Urban Outfitters maxi dress, and admitted that she felt like she was wearing PJs.

Kirsten Stoddard of Triple Max Tons
Blog: Twitter: @TripleMaxTons.
This is one of Boston-based blogger Kirsten's favorite outfits of all time. We can totally see why--it's so freakin' cute! Annnnd, minus the boots, it cost less than $30! She partnered a Gap button-up with Martin + Osa white jeans, J.Crew riding boots, an Urban Outfitters vintage-style scarf, and our personal fave--MAC Lipstick in Russian Red.

Willow Smith at the 2011 White House Easter Egg Roll in Washington, D.C., on April 25.
Photo: Getty Images/Courtesy of Anita Ko

Our memories of Easter egg hunts involve poufy dresses, boiled eggs that were deemed inedible after sitting outside too long in the afternoon sun, and three 3-11 brawls over the Reese’s chocolate bunnies that were hidden under bushes. Judging by the festivities from the White House on Monday (attendees rubbed Easter baskets with Colbie Caillat, Greyson Chance, and Willow Smith) for the Annual White House Easter Egg Roll, kids nowadays have much fonder memories of the age-old spring tradition. Unless they're dispirited and broken and bored from being invited to the White House year after year despite them totally resenting their well-heeled parents and their own perfect diction and just not wanting to spend time with ANYONE EVER.

Willow Smith is good-natured and lovely, however, and during her performance of "Rock Star," "21st Century Girl," and "Whip My Hair" (that had the first lady groovin'), Willow grabbed our attention in a plaid blazer with matching high-waisted shorts, green high-tops with yellow laces, a sparkly purple manicure, two wrists full of bright bangles, a sky-high mohawk hairdo, and—our personal fave—a $3,800 Anita Ko 18k gold pave diamond "Panther Door Knocker" necklace. It's so fiercely different from the bunny, carrot, ballet slipper and jelly bean charms that we used to wear during Easter egg hunts. AND, it's versatile. If it was a bunny, it might be weird to wear it on, say, Valentine's Day or St. Patrick's Day. Like, the 10-year-old pop star can wear this chain on ANY holiday...or on the weekend...or while performing on a world tour in Australia...or 20 years from now on her wedding day. That's some smart shopping right there. P.S., Dig the door knocker feline look, but can't afford this one? We found this Miss Selfridge lion door knocker necklace on the cheap-chic, too. High/low, we got you covered.

Gossip Girl Blake Lively stepped out for the Time 100 Most Influential People Gala yesterday with a headful of fiery red waves (just like Rumer Willis, Mandy Moore, and Drew Barrymore!). Why ditch her natural blonde locks? The actress is in a film called Hick where her character is a redhead. {Us}

Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari at the 'Source Code' premiere in Hollywood on March 28.
Photo: Getty Images

Since the infamous what-will-Kate Middleton-wear-on-her-wedding-day debate will be a closed case come Friday, we're turning our energies onto Kristin Cavallari. The Hills alum just got engaged to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. (High-fives all around!) Jay, a guy's guy, seems to have adopted a romantic streak during the current NFL lockout (up next for the jock, Dancing With the Stars. JK)—after dating a little under a year, he popped the question during a getaway to Cabo San Lucas over the weekend. Ready, set, awwwwwwww... We had a feeling Jay would be Kristin's ONE after she told People "I'm in love, and it's been great."

Our top picks for Kristin Cavallari's wedding dress.
Photo: Courtesy of Nicole Miller/Monique Lhuillier/Lela Rose

We can't wait to peep the ring (apparently it's "a very big diamond"), and the dress, and the cake, and the invitations, and the babies, and the big house with the picket fence—whoa, OK, we are getting a little ahead of ourselves here. Let's take a few steps back by imagining what we think she might wear on the big day. We're not psychic or anything, so we can't say for certain what gown the future Mrs. Jay Cutler will rock, but we are 85 percent sure that it will be simple (not too many bells and whistles), body con and curve emphasizing, and slightly traditional (we totes envision a baby train). What is your prediction?

Clean Lines and Classic
This Nicole Miller silk stretch strapless gown comes with a sweetheart neckline that would accentuate Kristin's sleek shoulders (check her out, she's obviously been playing catch with her sporty beau).

Fitted With Some Flounce
Monique Lhuillier's silk embroidered lace strapless crossover sweetheart neckline gown features an elongated bodice and modified circle skirt. Vavavooooooom.

Streamlined Sophistication
The cap sleeves and open back make this Lela Rose embroidered ivory gown. And Kristin's silhouette would kill it dead.
