We were super stoked for Katie Holmes when we heard that Holmes & Yang, the collection that she designs with friend Jeanne Yang, would show at New York Fashion Week for the first time. Well, today was the day, and although the line's presentation was super intimate--only 150 people were permitted into the Box at Lincoln Center--the excitement was palpable in the lobby of fashion week HQ. We were walking backstage just before the presentation let out, and had to wade through a decently sized knot of photographers patiently awaiting the designer. As for the clothes themselves, (because that's what we're all here for, right?), they were prim without being stuff, clean without being sterile. Composed mostly of solid colored separates, Holmes & Yang is a completely wearable, modern line. Our one sadface about the presentation, however? Where was Suri?

Put your hands together, guys! The newly engaged Avril Lavigne presented her SECOND Abbey Dawn New York Fashion Week show last night. *incites early-morning ovation* That's right, y'all. With this sophomore show under her belt, Abbey Dawn is no one-time Fashion Week flash in the pan. And apparently, neither is her friend and model Kylie Jenner who opened and closed the show - her second of the WEEK!

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne talks about his Trukfit line and Supra collaboration at Project MAGIC.
Photo: MTV

Lil Wayne may claim to have never meant to become "a fashion dude," but anyone with the audacity and--erm--cojones to pull off a neon fanny pack and trapper hat at the same time, let alone women's leopard print pants is surely poised for style greatness. Now, the notoriously shirtless 2012 VMA performer sits at the helm of his own Trukfit streetwear label and a forthcoming shoe collaboration with Supra. Weezy launched his skate sneaker range at this year's Project MAGIC Las Vegas fashion trade show where we chatted with him about his burgeoning fashion empire. More on what he had to say about his debut shoe design, the OG meaning of "trukfit," and what he thinks of his personal style in our exclusive video interview after the jump!

Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne chatted with "WWD" about Abbey Dawn.

Hardcore Avril Lavigne fans are stoked for Abbey Dawn's big return to the New York Fashion Week runways this season at Style360. If you don't remember her last show, it was a parade of safety-pins, studs, and skulls (and models who unabashedly put aaaaaall the bass in their walk #sass). Judging from Avril's new Skrillex-channelling 'do and the killer sneak peeks we've gotten from the forthcoming collection, this season is totally poised to one-up the last. In lead-up for her big sophomore show, Women's Wear Daily caught up with the "Wish You Were Here" singer for a short (but informational!) interview from which we extracted a few fashion facts. Here's what we learned!

Designer, musician, and muse Kim Gordon sitting front row at Rodarte.
Photo: Getty

We've all been there: you're over at your most fashionable friend's house, just hanging out, and all of a sudden she says, "hey, I have all these clothes I need to give away, do you want to look through them?" Out come the garbage bags, or the hangers, or the boxes, and onto the bed go all the clothes you've been coveting when you've seen her wearing, ripe for your greedy little hands to pick. We know we've gotten some of our favorite items this way, not to mention by scouring the racks at our favorite vintage and thrift shops, from the carefully curated to the downright dirty. Well now imagine if that fashionable friend was actually one of your all time greatest fashion idols. Imagine if that friend was Kim Gordon, music icon as a member of Sonic Youth, fashion icon as a front row fixture at Rodarte and Marc Jacobs' shows at New York Fashion Week, and perhaps most importantly, fashion designer. Kim was a founder of the legendary clothing line X-Girl, and went on to collaborate with Urban Outfitters, Surface To Air, and others on lines. She is also a fashion maven, and we've always longed to be able to take a peek into her closet. Thanks to Oakland, California vintage retailer Mercy Vintage we get to do way more than that--not only can we take a peek into Kim's closet, but we can take home what we love, too. (Don't worry, the collection will be available online.) The sale starts on September 1, but, thanks to our friends at Refinery29, we have some insider info for you right now!

Every time Odd Future plays a show in a new city, you can almost be certain they'll open a new corresponding Golf Wang pop-up shop. The skate hip-hop collective spread the OF love to Paris with a week-long pop-up at the City of Lights's world-famous Colette. On top of the grip of new Golf Wang merch with which they flooded the Colette shelves, Tyler, the Creator, Domo Genesis, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, and much of the rest of the OFWGKTA crew paid a special visit to the store yesterday afternoon.

Chloe Sevigny in New York wearing the "Against Playground Rules" Dress, also available at Rent The Runway.

Ever since her days as a '90s kid in New York (not to mention her unforgettable House of Style cameo!) Chloe Sevigny has always been THE fashion magnet to follow. But if you really want to copy the actress/designer's clothes- and we mean literally score her capsule collection from Opening Ceremony- the problem is, it's gonna cost you. While the goods from the Chloe Sevigny for OC line run up to $700, we've found a way to snag the adorable outfits on the cheap. Well, one of them, at least. Rent The Runway (yep, the same site that gave us Katy Perry's swirly blue Viktor & Rolf number) has just stocked Chloe's "Against The Playground Rules Dress" for an indisputably affordable $75.

Lady Gaga Fame

What does Lady Gaga's Fame perfume smell like?
Photo: Courtesy of Haus Laboratories/Macy's

Hear that? That's the sound of Lady Gaga's much-anticipated Fame perfume FINALLY hitting Macy's shelves across the country! We've been trailer teased and taunted with jaw-dropping campaign photos for the better half of the last two months, but now (NOW!!!!) we can finally get our hands on Mother Monster's debut fragrance and answer all our burning questions. Will the "First Black Eau de Parfum" really change colors? Will it stain my clothes? What exactly does "tears of Belladonna, crushed heart of the tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot, and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops" smell like??? Walk with us.

Alexa Chung.
Photo: Getty Image

We're not ashamed to admit that we get a little jealous when we look at Alexa Chung's Instagram feed. Between the glamorous parties and her ever-perfect fringe, the DJ/Model/lady-about-town has a truly fashionable life, and since we're already coveting the cute little dresses and tomboy looks that she rocks on a daily basis, we know that her original designs would be beyond on point. Alexa revealed that she's "looking into" starting her own line in an interview with Numero Tokyo, for which she is the October cover star, adding that she's "got nothing to lose, it's a bit of fun." She went on to say that she actually does all of the sketches herself, but added that these days nobody believes that celebrity designers are really in charge of their own designs: "So if it sucks [she] can say [she] had nothing to do with it, and if it’s really good [she] can say ‘Here are the drawings, it’s all my own work!" While we have no doubt that her line would actually be awesome, it just makes us like her even more that she's so funny about the whole thing.

We actually can't believe it's taken Ms. Chung this long to start her own line. She's been at the top of our fashion radar for years now, and it seems like the most natural thing in the world.
