If you have two hands and a smartphone, chances are you've shown off your nail art on Instagram at LEAST once in your life. It's pretty much a given. But what if you could show off your Instagram pictures ON your nail art? Photos of your half-eaten cheeseburger or your #tbt baby pic plastered on your fingers for the whole world to see IRL. Well, thanks to NailSnaps and their genius Kickstarter campaign, that dream could very well become a possibility. The company promises to turn your smartphone pics into custom-made nail stickers—provided they earn enough money, of course. Quick, someone send them $40,000 RIGHT NOW.
If NailSnaps is able to change the face of nail art forever, there are a few celeb Instagram accounts we may have to borrow from. As much as my cat's face deserves to be a semi-permanent fixture on my manicure, the snapshots of the rich and famous are just a liiitle bit more interesting. Since we're VERY IMPATIENT, we already Photoshopped a few (OK, 12) of the famous pics we'd steal for ourselves. Just to, y'know, see how it'd look.

Much to the dismay of naysayers/trend forecasters everywhere, nail art ain't goin' nowhere, y'all. In fact, I'm happy to report that it's alive and well and majorly #THRIVING on the Fall 2014 runways at New York Fashion Week. Nail artists pulled out all the stops this season with a brand new class of innovative designs, patterns, textures, and shapes. If you're still struggling to paint both hands without going through an entire bag of cotton balls and polish remover (no shade), you might want to take some notes. Unless you're into the finger-dipped trend, in which case, carry on. Check out our picks for the most creative nail art designs from New York Fashion Week after the jump!

Here we have a small sampling of the nail art The Blonds sent down the runway for their Fall 2014 show. Welp, that'll do it, ladies and gentlemen. I think we can all go home now. They won nails. Congrats, CND. I don't even know how to describe half of these, because they are SO insanely detailed. Also because there are SO many. Like, there's at least fifteen in plain view. And that's not even counting those pink pointy suckers (which would no doubt get flagged as weapons by the T.S.A.). Just when we thought it couldn't get more diverse than last season's show, The Blonds went and outdid themselves. Literally.

Cushnie et Ochs called in their BFF manicurist, Pattie Yankee, for this stiletto-tipped, iridescent, oil-slick paint job that created a holographic illusion in certain kinds of light. HOLOGRAPHS, people. On fingernails. What's next? A life-size projection of a shirtless 2Pac performing the show's soundtrack? (Hey, it could happen.)
Back in November, Miley Cyrus released a few teaser videos for her upcoming Bangerz Tour. There was twerking, of course, and plenty of wagging tongues, and one giant, dancing foam finger. Everyone in the videos was decked out in puff-painted, homemade Miley-gear, and now, just as we'd hoped/dreamed/guessed (#psychics), it looks like her official tour merch will have that exact same kind of DIY vibe.
Miley tweeted a few sneak peek pics of her Bangerz swag this weekend, which included a "Marry Me Miley" tee (colored with markers, covered in emoji-style icons and modeled by her BFF/personal assistant, Cheyne "Bew Bew" Thomas), foam finger nail wraps (fingers on fingers is so #meta) and one very cheeky (pun intended) scribbled-on pair of tighty-whitey briefs (which, BTW, has the same open-mouth design as the T-shirt Cyrus wore in one of her tour videos).
The Grammys red carpet was, of course, filled with fashion, but we, as usual, were keeping our eyes out for nail art. Luckily, we were #blessed with a number of swagged-up nails, from Rita Ora, Paris Hilton, Kelly Osbourne, Bonnie McKee, and Madonna. Check 'em out below!

One of our faves, Rita Ora, went BIG on nail art, with totally different designs on each nail. We're not entirely sure of the connection between a Batman symbol, a smiley face, a Comme des Garçons heart, and a mustache, buuuut they're all colorful and we're always down for some variety.
Lorde performing at the 2014 Grammys.

Attention teenage boys of the world: Lorde is officially the kind of girl you can take home to your parents. Sure, she may be a little eccentric and they'll probably want to know why she wears dark purple lipstick ("GAH, Mom. It's called goth, OK?"), but the 17-year-old singer (who just nabbed the award for Best Pop Solo Performance) decided against glitz, glamour, and pantless leotards for her debut Grammys performance, and instead opted for A SENSIBLE PANTSUIT! One part Prada, one part Céline. NBD. The singer teased some pretty terrifying outfit inspirations last week, but she showed up in a crisp, sleeveless white top tucked into wide-leg black pants with a super-lengthy nylon belt. SO SENSIBLE.
