Ahh, FASHION. Although we love to obsess over drape, color, pattern, and detail at the shows, the sad fact is that many of our fave styles at New York Fashion Week just don't translate to our every day lives. As much as we wish the tail of that Jeremy Scott monster suit wouldn't get SO GROSS dragging around the New York subway system, the fact is that some things are better left on the runway. Can the same be said for beauty looks? While we're not going to be rocking technicolor bowl cuts à la Betsey Johnson's Fall 2013 show anytime soon, we wanted to see if some of the bolder runway looks from New York Fall 2013 Fashion Week might just be the bit of high fashion oomph our tired daily routines have been missing. What better way to figure this out for sure than to test them out, we thought, and so this post was born. Should we get over our phobia of pairing a super dark eye with a bright red lip? Gaby Wilson tried out Jen Kao's striking look to find out. Are white brows and orange shadow a thing we should get into? Liza Darwin served amazing Karen Walker to see. Can lightning blots be a thing that works...on your face? Chrissy Mahlmeister took a cue from Jeremy Scott and can tell you. And finally, could we add a little old Hollywood horror to our old standby cat-eye? Maud Deitch road-tested The Blonds' beauty look to know for sure. For the skinny on how we got each look, what products we used, and just how wearable they really were, look no further than after the jump!
