Justin Bieber Billboard Music Awards

One of our favorite parts about awards shows are the live performances because, duh, THOSE KILLER ONSTAGE ENSEMBLES. Tonight's Billboard Music Awards were no different—Justin Bieber ba-rought the amazingness in his glow-in-the-dark neon yellow and white outfit while performing his latest single "Boyfriend." He wore a glowing tee and exposed-zipper white leather vest paired with glow-in-the-dark piping around the edges of his pants. The best part, though, were the accessories! He sported silver studded sneakers with glowing soles and laces with matching fingerless studded gloves that ALSO had a touch of glowing green around the edges. He kept his hair super simple by swiping it up and off his face, but, um, doesn't something seem oddly familiar about this whole glowing onstage ensemble thing? It feels like we're having SERIOUS déjà vu.

Is it just us or has Jeremy Scott been KILLIN' it lately? Earlier this week the designer revealed a 24K gold ensemble he created for Rihanna, and today we discovered that he outfitted THE Nicki Minaj for her summer-long Pink Friday tour. She kicked it off yesterday with a performance in Sydney, Australia, and we couldn't get enough of her hot pink and yellow ensemble! Jeremy Scott tweeted that he created these graffiti-inspired looks for Ms. Minaj and her backup dancers, and we must discuss them IMMEDIATELY.

Rihanna Cleopatra Makeup

We were perusing the internets just like we do, um, every minute of every day and accidentally stumbled upon a gold mine. Rihanna's BFF snapped a pic of Ri before her Robin Hood Foundation gala performance on Monday night, and we couldn't tear our eyes away from her shimmering ensemble. RiRi channeled Cleopatra in her all-gold get-up by sporting a cobra snake tiara, blunt bangs, gold hoops, and snake arm cuff. For her makeup, she wore all white shadow around her eyes, dramatic liquid eyeliner, turquoise blue brows, and gold leafing along her nose and cheeks. She finished the look with matching gold lipstick and bustier, but we NEEDED to know more about her ensemble!

Santigold

It's official—I'm out of the Santigold groupie closet. Last night the singer played a free concert at the intimate Irving Plaza thanks to Samsung, who threw a bananas bash complete with mini-hamburgers and a flowing open bar (ouch!) to celebrate their 5MM Facebook "likes." I, duh, more than liked last night. My homegirl Natalia Kills and I bounced away to Santigold's fashion-y and frenetic hit-driven set, and we LIVED for her signature sunglasses-at-night duo of dancers. But it was all about the party store golden-streamers-turned-cape on Santi that completely did us in. Oh, and then there's this: style god/my biggest celeb-crush evs a.k.a. Pharrell Williams was a special guest performer, as well as Andy freakin' Samberg who showed up as the hilarious Saturday Night Live character Shy Ronnie. Following the cuckoo killer show, I somehow ended up kicking it with Santi in her dressing room. NBD. Newsflash: She was sweeter than your favorite Vitamin Water and prettier than most humans. Being the totes profesh MTV Style blogger that I am, I talked all things fashion with Santigold. See: Salt-N-Peppa as a style icon, Santi's penchant for drugstore-purchased glitter nail polish, and getting sloshed for Alexander Wang. Um, yeah. It all happened.

Which all-beef outfit do you like best?
Photo: Getty Images/ Terry's Diary

The Meat Dress: it's baaaaack! That infamous raw beef frock that Lady Gaga wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards has officially returned, two years later. Shutterbug Terry Richardson has captured the singer rocking a shorter, girlier version of the all-beef ensemble at her Born This Way Ball this weekend in Tokyo, looking quite at home faux-hanging from a hook onstage. And appropriately enough, she's donning the strapless number flanked by-what else?- hanging meat. In typical Gaga fashion, she's topped off the over-the-top look with meat-looking red booties (we hear they're actually made of leather) and a sleek ponytail. And let's be real: although she's rolled out some pretty insane outfits since that 2010 jaw-dropping performance, nothing has ever come close to touching the insanity of the Franc Fernandez-designed original creation... until now.

Early this year, news of Katy Perry's Sims debut had KatyCats pawing for a piece of the special Katy Perry edition of The Sims 3. The OG game was already chock full of Katy-themed details, but now, EA has released an extra "Sweet Treats" pack with even more Candyfornia sets, props, hairstyles, and fashions! Since we ran the first virtual performance outfits through the ringer, we thought it would only be fair to extend the same gesture to the new pack. Walk with us as we explore how these ensembles stack up against their IRL inspirations!

Katy Perry wore this bejeweled tromp l'oeil onesie tearing up the 2010 MTV Movie Awards stage. For her upbeat performance of "California Gurls," Katy wore a bright cerulean version of her signature Candyfornia Bettie Page 'do, a sparkle-covered cut-out romper that gave the illusion of a teeny top and high-waisted denim shorts. She finished it off with graphic t-strap heels and a spoonful of attitude. The shoes fall short in the Sims version and EA adds some superfluous hair flowers, but overall, the virtual replica nails this one.

Justin Bieber

Last night's season finale of The Voice was bursting with excitement, from the two-song return of Jamar Rogers to the triumphant crowning of Jermaine Paul as the Season 2 winner. Adding fuel to the fire, Justin Bieber made The Voice his vehicle of choice for the hotly anticipated premier live performance of "Boyfriend." The Biebs spared not a single swaggy detail for the live debut of the ear-wormy first single off his forthcoming sophomore album, Believe, elevating the collective blood pressure of ladybabies (and grown ladies alike) across the country with his smooth dance moves, a bit of bad boy steez, and (as always) notable attention to grooming.

Lady Gaga wears Versace on stage and while travelling for her Born This Way Ball Tour.
Photo: Getty Images/Courtesy of Versace's Facebook

If it was even up for discussion, let us now make it unimpeachably clear that Lady Gaga's love affair with Versace is no fleeting fling. From that gold, leather, and netted custom Grammy outfit to her self-proclaimed obsession with the brand and her vow to wear only vintage Versace for two months, it should be quite obvious that Gagaloo genuinely appreciates the legendary fashion house in all its studded, sexy glory. As she embarks on the first stops of her Born This Way Ball tour, her infatuation is a flag she waves proudly, wearing Donatella design after design after design both on and off the stage.

After all the back and forth about whether or not Azealia Banks was actually going to play the Met Gala, we were super relieved when the singer performed for Prada at the benefit event last night. We were super excited when tweets started pouring in that, not only had the singer performed, but that she had done so in high fashion cat face paint! Taking the cat eye trend to the next level (and the letter after that), Banks looked stupid cute and was all smiles as she posed for Twitpics and Instagrams galore. She started the night off on the red carpet, arm-in-arm with Alexander Wang, wearing a custom crocodile dress with cut-outs in all the right places by the designer. It reminded us a little of the crocodile Tom Ford gown Rihanna walked the carpet in, but the shorter hemline and criss-crossed straps were playful touches, perfect for the 20 year old rapper. Paired with a deep wine colored lip, so popular among the coolest cool girls last night, and simple black ankle-strap sandals, Banks looked elegant without going anywhere near looking stuffy.

Terry Richardson shoots Lady Gaga backstage on tour.
Photo: Terry Richardson

Sometimes it's hard to believe that someone as brilliant and out there as Lady Gaga could actually exist in real life. But whenever we get to go behind the scenes with Mama Monster, complete and utter badass attitude and murderous style reminds us that she is very much real, and very much the awesomest. King of scandalous photoshoots Terry Richardson had the totally enviable opportunity to join Gaga on the first leg of her Born This Way Ball in Seoul, South Korea. This isn't Richardson's first time getting super real with Mama Monster, he got inside her lair for his book Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson, but who doesn't want more Lady Gaga, am I right?! From catching the pop star being fitted into her Giorgio Armani head cage before taking the stage, to the incredible style of her little monsters, the photog makes us feel like we're there, almost (we still can't wait for the tour to reach the States come fall *fingers crossed*). And we didn't even mention that corset--with straps and hardware, the bondage-inspired piece calls to mind some of the Gaultier pieces Madonna wore on her Blonde Ambition tour back in the '90s, but with that distinct Gaga flair.
