The celeb crowd attending New York Fashion Week shows and events keeps growing, and we're keeping tabs on all of them. Solange attended the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target event in a navy and black tuxedo jacket—as a shirt!—and tan, abstract animal-print skirt from the collection. She dressed the Target collabo up a bit with tan and clear Givenchy sandals and a studded Fendi clutch. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, both very blonde, seemed more than ready to welcome fall: both were dressed in head-to-toe black. Mary-Kate accessorized with a small, furry bag and cut-out shoes, while Ashley added a monochrome bag and heels with ankle ties. Zosia Mamet hit up the Honor show in a fuchsia-y Honor, duh, dress. She paired the dress with NEON red-and-white Tabitha Simmons for Honor flats #practical. Peep the rest of the celebs hitting up NYFW shows after the jump!
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen teamed up with Damien Hirst on a collection of backpacks.

It must be fate. Just this morning we were digging ourselves out of an internet wormhole of retro Mary-Kate and Ashley Youtube videos, and now we've gotten wind of some seriously jawdropping Olsen news that we absolutely HAVE to talk about. The actresses-turned-CFDA winners have debuted a brand new capsule collection of super luxe backpacks in conjunction with Damien Hirst. The Row designers and the contemporary artist collaborated on nine different styles of the carryall, embellishing the label's signature black patent Nile crocodile leather backpack with Hirst's quirky-cool designs. It's an awesome concept, sure, but just like all the other swoon-worthy pieces from The Row, the bad news is, it's gonna cost you. A lot. If you thought the Olsens wouldn't dare to top the $39,000 price tag on their other (controversial) backpack, think again...because they totally went there. The limited-edition collection of bags is listed at online design store Just One Eye for "price upon request." We called, and it retails for a cool $55,000. Gulp.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen at the CFDA Awards.

We miiiiiight not be able to afford a $17,000 backpack OR have a CFDA Award to our name, but now we've found a way to get a coveted piece of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen....or smell like them, at least. The power duo announced today they're teaming up with Sephora on a brand-new fragrance for their Elizabeth and James brand. FINALLY. We're already in deeply love with the label's super cute dresses and flowy blouses, so if you ask us, it's about time we get a whiff of the girls! While this is technically not the twins' first foray into the scent biz- they've rolled out body sprays for tweens in the past- it DOES mark their initial "grown-up" perfume for Elizabeth and James, and we couldn't be more excited. No details on what the fragrance will be called or the scent notes yet, but as Sephora told WWD, “We look forward to bringing the modern perspective and fashion philosophy of Elizabeth and James designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to life with this prestige fragrance.” Um... yes!
Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen at the CFDA Fashion Awards on June 4 and their bag from The Row.
Listen, we're well aware Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen KNOW style. They won the highly-acclaimed Womenswear Designer of the Year Award at the CFDAs, which currently puts them at the top of the 2012 fashion roster. But esteemed accolades aside, we need to get real for a second and just say this—they're selling a bag from The Row's pre-fall 2012 collection for nearly $17,000. YEAH. This backpack (that's right! You can tote this sweatfest on your back all summer long!) is a collection of fur patches sewn together into one giant, mismatched fuzzball. Unlike the previous $40,000 The Row crocodile bag from one reptile, which is (oddly) more expensive but equally anger-inducing, this backpack is made from the fur of at least three different animals. Yipes. The thing is, if you're PETA there's obvious reasons to be mad (and they certainly are! #trollsens), but what if you're just a plain ol' fashion person that is looking at this for what it really is—a really, really expensive bag.
Zoe Saldana, Pharrell Williams and Mary Kate Olsen at the CFDA awards.
Sometimes the fashion world can seem intimidating and stuffy, but then events like the Met Gala or last night's CFDA awards ceremony pop up and the world that was one intimidating gets to bust out all of its creative, gutsy excitement for the world to see. A designer, a blogger, and a model singing and dancing to "Call Me Maybe" while getting ready? Check. A host decked out in a lace dress and boxer shorts? Check. Some of our favorite celebs wearing GORGEOUS couture? Check, check, check, check. While there were a TON of outfits that struck our fancy on last night's red carpet, there were a few that stuck out in particular. Zoe Saldana wore one of the more striking looks of the night, although it was also one of the most simple. Prabal Gurung dressed the actress in a jet black, carpet-sweeping illusion gown, with figure accentuating sheer panels, long sleeves, and a slit to there. The look was gorgeous paired with a strong kohl eye, nude lips, and tightly pulled-back hair. Pharrell Williams also managed to make black look risky in...dare we say it...a shorts tux. The modernized tux, which also featured a giant bow tie and a beanie, was designed by Comme Des Garçons and revealed the music and fashion mogul's calf tattoo. It's a fresh take on a timeless look that some say needs no updating, but we say go for it Pharrell, what's the point of being in fashion if you're too afraid to take a risk every once in awhile. Also, we need to add that this is not 100% uncharted territory: Joe Jonas wore a giant bow tie to last year's CFDA's. Just sayin'. Ok, ok, we know it's summer and that we need to move on from all the winter-colored outfits, but we couldn't leave out Mary Kate Olsen in The Row, especially since the talented twin and her sister took home the award for Women's Wear Designer of the Year, considered the biggest achievement of the night. Mary Kate joined the winners circle with a new 'do, showing up to the show with brand new brunette locks. The color makes MK's blue eyes pop, an effect that she accentuated with a pair of oversized emerald green drop earrings.

We're pretty sure we weren't the only ones whose hearts broke into a million pieces when we found out Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were selling backpacks that cost a cool $39,000 (guys, this actually happened). Having professed our undying love for the Olsen twins since they ran around on the set of Full House in pigtails, we were distraught by the reality that we would never get our hands on an accessory designed by the super cool sisters with that kind of price tag. We got the chance to peruse their Elizabeth and James offerings and the more affordable items from The Row, but nothing quite tops our latest retail discovery: sunglasses designed by The Olsen twins for JCPenney's Olsenboye collection priced at a mere 15 bucks. SQUEAL!

Celebrated shoe designer Christian Louboutin hosted a cocktail party at Barney's New York that attracted all manner of well-heeled ladies (and gents in ladies' heels, but we'll get to that in a sec) ready to show off their finest footsies. Along with the perennially black-clad dynamic duo that is Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Blake Lively blasted the black carpet with her brand of insouciant sunshine, and The Blonds jazzed it out in tuxedo revelry. They were all rocking Loubs, too—some even of the animal-themed variety, specifically LION PAWS.
Anderson Cooper on Sept. 17, and the infamous alligator backpack from The Row.

Ever since Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched a handbag collection for their luxury apparel line The Row, they have one particular item that people can't seem to stop talking about—the alligator backpack. This bad boy, made of actual alligator skin, sells for $39,000, and it *gasp* SOLD OUT. Trust us, we weren't the only ones surprised by this news. CNN news anchor (and cutie pie) Anderson Cooper dedicated an entire "RidicuList" segment to the Olsen's bag, comparing the price of the backpack to the average starting salary for a teacher. He then followed up that statement with, "Yes, you may weep now." Ouch. Anderson went on to say that the Olsens are "nice, cool people," but he still doesn't see how one bag could be comparable to the price of a brand-new Nissan Sentra. Now, you can't critique a pricey alligator backpack without giving us a cheaper alternative, right? RIGHT. And Anderson did JUST that! (Imagining him doing market research is just too CUTE for us to handle.) So...what did he pick out? Did he do The Row bag justice? Let's find out!

You can't see their faces, but you should know by those unmistakable strawberry-blonde locks and identical statures that this is Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen in Star Wars Halloween costumes (Stormtropper and Darth Vader, to be specific). The twin actresses turned fashion moguls have just rolled out a Halloween quiz for their T-shirt line/site StyleMint (which ends in a discount code if you answer everything correctly!) and in the series of interactive YouTube videos, the sisterly duo dons a few awesomely geek-chic costumes to keep things festive while you work your way through the questions.

As expected, Kanye West's much-anticipated Paris Fashion Week debut compelled the fashion elite to turn out in droves for a first look at the rapper's womenswear collection. From downtown-chic pretty young thangs like Sky Ferreira and The Misshapes' Leigh Lezark to Fashion Week front row mainstays like Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, Anna Wintour, and Carine Roitfeld to a veritable laundry list of fellow designers, Kanye's hand-selected guest list only added to the excitement.
