Katy Perry

If you thought festival fashion had already peaked, think again! Katy Perry just extended the shelf life of the trend with her second collection for Claire’s, dubbed “Wildflower,” which will provide endless floral options for the Coachella set. Unlike “Roar,” her first collection for the store, “Wildflower” isn’t as much inspired by Katy’s songs as it is by the bohemian style that’s come to dominate music festivals—and she should know. By now, Katy’s pretty much a pro at Coachella, having attended for the past four years. Here we were thinking that she just went for the parties and music. Apparently, Katy was also doing some field research.

Anyone who has ever shopped at Claire's knows that it is the one-stop shop for fun and colorful accessories. So it made perfect sense when Katy Perry—the most fun and colorful human in the world—announced that she was going to design a collection for the store. Ever since we heard this fabulous bit of news a few months ago, we've been trying to imagine the holographic bling Katy would bring to the table. Would there be Egyptian necklaces? Prism earrings? Jungle-cat rings? It's been keeping us up at night, to be honest.

Well, stop imagining and start looking, my friends. Claire's just released a sneak peek of Katy's Prism collection, and it's like a dream come true. It looks like the line is a mix of prismatic shine and "Roar" jungle vibes (everyone knows Katy loves a good theme). In the sparkle department, we get bedazzled bobby pins, a charm bracelet, and a huge Prism pendant necklace, all sticking to the triangular motif of Katy's Prismatic World Tour. There are also nameplate-esque necklaces, only instead of names, they say "Roar" and "Champion." I can't tell what the middle one says, but I'm guessing, like, "Tiger" or "Fighter."

Katy Perry knows about accessories.

Katy Perry just made dressing for her upcoming Prismatic World Tour a cinch. Today WWD revealed that the singer is teaming up with Claire’s on a line of accessories inspired by her new album. Talk about a match made in heaven. Claire’s was already the sparkling beacon of the mall—just imagine how much shinier it’s going to get once Perry’s inevitably holographic gear hits its shelves. If there’s one thing we know about Katy Perry, it’s that she can’t resist a theme.

Kitty

Prom is probably the most major of high school moments. The dress, the date, the dance… a night you’ll remember and reminisce over for the rest of your life. So, what could be better than prom? Erm, how about FIVE proms? Because that’s exactly what Kitty Pryde got. The Florida-born, New York based-rapper, who is currently on tour with another fashion favorite Danny Brown, may be young— but she’s got the smart rhymes and sharp delivery of a stage vet. Her first single, “Ok Cupid,” which was recorded on her laptop in her bedroom closet, was named #17 on Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Songs Of 2012, and “Orion’s Belt,” the catchiest of collabs with Riff Raff, is currently sitting at over 1.2 million views on YouTube. But before all the fame, Kitty was just a regular Daytona Beach babe, working at the mall and planning prom outfits. Like we said, the girl’s got experience. “I’ve gone a couple times with girlfriends, once with my gross ex-boyfriend, and most recently with my BFF Grant. He didn’t even become my BFF until I forced him to take me to prom like three days after I met him, but now we’re inseparable, so that’s the magic of prom for you.”

We can always grab prom style inspiration from the couture runway shows or from the glossy pages of a magazine, but sometimes the best, most-thoughtful, and straight up COOL looks come straight from the street! We're obsessed with these three ladies who show that prom doesn't have to be about the super duper long dress covered in rhinestones paired with a tight updo and heels you'll probably never wear again. Prom is all about HAVING FUN and getting the most out of your outfit! Wear your hair down, let loose and break all of the fashion rules. C'mon, it's your ONE NIGHT to do whatever you want!

Karolina Oacik of Cajmel
Blog: Cajmel.Blogspot.com.
A Poland-based blogger with cute style to boot, Karolina lets her bright red dress be the center of attention in this outfit. She opted for suuuuper classic accessories that don't take away from the dress: a black velvet clutch to add texture, a flower pin for a dash of sweetness, PERFECT black platform pumps that can be worn anywhere, and a rose in her side chignon for a pop of color in her hair. Also, please take a closer look at her updo because it's amazingly braided and INSANE and this girl deserves major props.

Nadja N. of Street Princess
Blog: StreetPrincess.blogg.se.
Nadja is a Sweden-based blogger with flair for street culture. We LOVEEEE her daring bright pink '80s-inspired tutu prom dress from Elegant Evenings paired with lavender and white high-top Nike Dunks (it's no wonder her blog is called Street Princess!). With a dress THIS intricate, it's best to keep the accessories at a minimum like she did. She also wore her hair loose and beachy (just like our DIY prom hair guide), which means she doesn't take herself too seriously. And, um, with an outfit like this, there's no WAY she won't be the most fun prom date ever. (Psst! You can also peep her street style on Lookbook!)

Abbey Birden of Mice And Unicorns
Blog: MiceAndUnicorns.Tumblr.com.
Abbey maaaayyyy be the cutest girl from the UK. OK, that's a bit of a stretch, but every time we see a photo of her, we just wanna say, "Awwww!" For her prom look, she paired a pale pink Lipsy London dress (that kind of reminds us of Katy Perry on the Vanity Fair cover) with all UH-MAZING New Look accessories! She personalized her outfit with layered charm necklaces, lace gloves, polka dot tights, a black clutch and black pumps. Abbey kept her bob simple and chic and added a Claire's netted headband for an extra touch of glam. Perfection!
