Karlie's Kookies

Karlie and her Perfect 10 Kookies.

These are the simple bare necessities.

+ Just when we thought Karlie Kloss couldn't outclass her own charm, she made a Karlie's Kookie-baking/80s-inspired workout video and simultaneously proved that, yes, those two things can coexist.

+ On this Feast of St. Valentine, a Dallas chocolatier positively leveled the competition with delectable designer shoe creations. Naturally, her most popular items happen to have red soles.

+ Cynthia Rowley debuted a new venture at her Fall 2013 show this week and it's, SURPRISE, a line of delicious sweets that are just as quirky and fanciful as you'd imagine them to be.
{via Refinery 29}

+ Reed Krakoff teamed up with famous French pâtisserie Ladurée (responsible for all the delicious cake that Marie Antoinette "let them eat" in Sofia Coppola's 2006 film) to create some shmancy macarons. They'll be at Krakoff's NYC store until end of Fashion Week (ALERT: TODAY), so giddy up!

+ And finally, House of Style alumna Stephanie Seymour sets the record straight on the curious asparagus that appeared alongside her in Jason Wu’s Spring 2013 campaign. Hmm.

Kelly Osbourne for "Lovecat" magazine.
Photo: Courtesy of "Lovecat"

Kelly Osbourne is giving all kinds of rock star royalty AMAZINGNESS in her latest shoot with photographer Brooke Nipar for Lovecat magazine. Of course we already knew Kelly was a hottie, but we had no clue those killer curves and rock-hard abs were hiding underneath her red carpet gowns. In case you youngins were unaware, Kelly was the reality TV family rebel waaay before Khloe Kardashian, and she doesn't care who knows it. Exhibit A? Her purplish gray hair. Have you ever seen Grandma-inspired strands paired with the sexiest of bad girl, barely there metallics? Also, Kelly's skintight latex Syren skirt makes us want-slash-NEED the number of her trainer, stat. We'll also take those fierce Mercura sunglasses and that to-die-for silver Jeremy Scott bra she's rocking, please and thank you. Ms. Kelly tops the outfit off with a spectacular Brian Litchenberg vest, Alexis Bittar bangles, and a red-lipped pout. Guys, she is serving. And get this: As scintillating as Kelly Osbourne is, she says she doesn't even know what sexy means. Um, what?

Alexa Chung at the British Embassy in Paris to celebrate the new Burberry store.
Photo: Getty Images

We've seemingly had every kind of fashion-related, runway-based, catwalk-challenge TV show imaginable, but there's always room for one more. Enter Alexa Chung's new show, 24 Hour Catwalk, which is set to debut on Lifetime on Jan. 10. From what we've seen so far, it looks to be a super crazy, amped-up version of the network's other fashion mainstay, Project Runway, only with way more hiss-fights, tears, and an even tighter deadline to deliver a three-look collection with the assistance of a sewing team. While we didn't get to see much in the way of actual outfits in the first preview of the show, what we did see was some mega sass-mouthing from the judges, including designer Cynthia Rowley, media and communications mogul James LaForce, and fashion writer Derek Blasberg. The show also appears to have selected a motley assortment of CRAYBEES (aka cray-baby designers, aka highly entertaining reality show people, aka ratings gold). Also? There are LIVE SNAKES that we hope won't be used to make a dress.

Ashlee Simpson, Amber Stevens, and Cynthia Rowley wear saturated shoes.

Giddy off the whimsy, friendship, and Americana of Independence Day, we floated through July in a cloud spun from sno-cones and glitter and summer dreams, and so it seems August has finally snuck up on us. Here it is, guys. Soak in this last month before school starts back up, before the leaves change colors and the air turns crisp. Start kissing the summer (and the flings that have probably come with it) goodbye. But MOST importantly, bust out all your brights and neons out in full-force this month while there's still time to rock them! Take a cue from fash-forward Ashlee Simpson, the lovely Amber Stevens, and designer Cynthia Rowley, and wear the color on your feetses.

Taylor Swift on the cover of the August 2011 'Teen Vogue.'
All Photos Courtesy of Teen Vogue

There is something going on with this Teen Vogue spread of Taylor Swift that is just so flawless, so completely ideal, that if we never saw Taylor on the cover of a magazine again, we'd be OK. It's not that we don't want Taylor to never be a cover girl again, but this moment that Teen Vogue captured is so idyllic, such unbridled adolescence, soooooo nostalgic that we want this to be ingrained in our brainses forever.

What we've got here is a real-deal magazine cover from 1992. This is the stuff we used to steal from our older sisters. Look at Tay's hair: gently frizzy, atop a porcelain complexion and dark, nonlined lips. Then, below, we are treated to a cashmere-blend shirt with a boatneck, showing off just a hint of bling. Taylor Swift: On this cover, you are the most beautiful babysitter we have ever had.

The CFDA Awards, hosted by the Council of Fashion Designers in America (hence the name CFDA), is appropriately dubbed the Oscars of fashion. Of course, the Council only recognizes American designers, but that is totally great with us because it reminds us that Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenburg and Vera Wang all claim this landspace as their own. The ceremony, a rather small affair that is about as easy to get invited to as the Royal Wedding, is the time when American designers get to walk with their current "muses." Past award winners featured Iman (as an icon), Michelle Obama (as a special tribute) and Rodarte (best womenswear).

The real Oscars are for beauty and classic-ness, but the CFDA's prove that a celeb has the fashion chutzpah to own the red carpet. And, of course, there was Lady Gaga, who is now an official CFDA Fashion Icon.

Love her, hate her, or shut off each time she is mentioned (which in all fairness, is quite a lot), her CFDA nod firmly cemented her status as a real game-changer, not just a punk kid in wacky boots. We love that she brought her vamped out sister Natali as her red carpet date. The piercing eyes and Italian fierceness is clearly genetic—though definitely NOT genetic was Gaga's blunt cut aqua bob, which appeared front and center. However, we aren't massive fans of her unwieldy and dragging train, which was reportedly such a hassle she couldn't make it into the press room for interviews. Yet, in true Gaga-watching form, we wrestle with conflicting emotions on her acceptance getup: She ditched the train and then turned around to moon the industry—Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington included. Maybe not the most classic and respectful of moves, but hey, even as a game-changer, she still is a punk kid in wacky boots. But she wasn't the only one who kept the paps a-snappin'.

The 2011 MTV Movie Awards are fast-approaching, and as we count down the days until the doling out of the golden popcorn, MTV Style has all the fash-related coverage of the awards and nominees. So far, we've brought you the most-memorable style moments of this year's Best Female and Male performance nominees and showed you our fashion homage to Easy A. Today, we're serving up our very own Polyvore shrine to a film that is up for four awards: Black Swan. AND don't forget, you can watch clips and vote for all of your favorite performances here!

A 'Black Swan'-Inspired Polyvore Set
Photo: Polyvore

If you're a member of the American female population, you have 100 percent seen Black Swan because you think Natalie Portman is the prettiest human to ever live and you've been obsessed with her since Star Wars: Episode I/Garden State/V for Vendetta/Mars Attacks! If you're a dude, then you've also undoubtedly seen this movie, but you fall under one of two situations: either you were dragged to see it by your significant other, or you and your buddies went to see it solely for this scene (click and scroll down) (side note: If you fall into the latter category, then you're probably not reading this blog anyhow but WHATEVZ). Either way, Black Swan is totally one of those iconic films of the current era that we're going to be talking about for years, and Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis give some of the most impressive performances of their careers and arguably of any young starlet of this generation. PLUS, the costume department for Black Swan is totally high-fash-conscious—ZOMG RODARTE—so it obvi holds a special place in our hearts. To commemorate our undying love for this film (aside from the feather-strewn candlelit shrine we've erected in its honor), we offer you this humble Polyvore set of Black Swan-inspired amazingness.

As a more wearable interpretation of Nina's Black Swan costume, we found this black Cynthia Rowley feather tutu and a set of charcoal/gray Stila eye shadow. Since most daywalking citizens are averse to traipsing around with a gem-encrusted tiara on their heads, we tracked down a more subtle way to channel your inner princess with this Lucyn's tiara-shaped ring. A light pink Dion Lee tulle short-sleeved dress, Essie nail polish, and lady-like ribbon-laced Vionnet heels call to all things ballet. A swipe of red Stila lipstick harkens back to when Nina went totally crazy-pants and stole that tube from the dressing room of legendary dancer Beth MacIntyre, and the nail files in the top right are to remind you of/prevent you from re-creating that revolting scene where she rips her nail out in the sink for NO GOOD REASON. NIGHTMARES. Finally, we top the set off with this George Angelopoulos mirrored clutch for reasons you'll never know unless you've seen/until you see the movie. Fin.

Gossip Girl's seventh episode of season 4, "War At The Roses," premiered last night, and the episode was all about the birthday of one very stylish young lady — Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester). She killed it style-wise in the episode, wearing amazing looks by Giambattista Valli, Chris Benz, and a gorgeous gown by J. Mendel. Surely, guest stars designer Cynthia Rowley, super stylist Rachel Zoe, and Elle creative director Joe Zee were proud of her fashion choices, too! She was in the prime spot to be our favorite style star this week until Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) swooped in to steal the spotlight in a three-piece navy suit. With his printed purple tie and vibrant violet pocket square, we found him hard to resist, which is why he's our favorite for Best Dressed last night. But what do you think — who dressed best? See every look below and decide.
