Iggy Pop and Daisy Lowe for ElevenParis.
Photo: Iggy and the Stooges

Quick, tell us! Is this dynamic duo the odd couple of the moment OR just two of a kind? Well, judging from Iggy Pop and Daisy Lowe's identical cheeky expressions in the Fall/Winter 2012 ad campaign for Eleven Paris, we're going to have to go with the latter. The rock icon and British model worked it in front of the camera for the Parisian label, hamming it up (tongues out and all) for the black and white photoshoot. Given the pair's rebellious rock n' roll history- Iggy's the frontman of Iggy and the Stooges and Daisy's the offspring of musicians Gavin Rossdale and Pearl Lowe- you didn't REALLY expect them to just smile and say "cheese," did you?! After all, that wouldn't be nearly as fun.

Daisy Lowe for Bathing Ape.

Brit "It Girl" Daisy Lowe has been busy lately. First she ousted Christina Aguilera on the ads for eponymous jewelry line, Stephen Webster, and now she's the British brand ambassador for Japanese limited-edition streetwear line and Lil Wayne/Pharrell Williams favorite, A Bathing Ape (a.k.a. BAPE). Apparently, the brand is launching in Europe with this newly unveiled Fall/Winter BAPE ladies collection and nabbed the darling Ms. Lowe as the face. The coup took little convincing, given that she was already a huge fan of the cult-followed sportswear, and as you can see by the resulting images, the match is a harmonious one. Also, not to be backhanded compliment-ish about it but I had NO expectation for how cute the offerings would be.

Christina Aguilera and Daisy Lowe in campaigns for Stephen Webster.

Eep, Christina Aguilera has been dumped. By a guy, no less. And while it certainly wasn't the end of a romance, the decision made by jewelry-designer Stephen Webster
to ditch Xtina may still stings the singer a bit. Webster is known for creating high-end shine with a definite edge—think diamond encrusted spikes or shark teeth made out of precious stones—which is very much Christina's aesthetic. However, Webster has decided to tap Brit-girl Daisy Lowe (love child of Gavin Rossdale) to be the new face of Webster.

Taking a more artistic, darker approach, the campaigns feature a sultry-looking Lowe wearing a dark dress and vampy eyeliner, sporting one of Webster's "Murder She Wrote" pendants and a matching green armor ring as the only pictured jewelry. The Lowe shots are decidedly more moody, with a superimposed image of London's St. Pancras station as atmosphere. With her English/rock-star pedigree, the young model is a fitting choice for the brand. And Xtina can console herself by knowing if she's gonna get replaced, at least she is being subbed out for one of the most beautiful, sought-after women in the world (who is also a longtime friend of Webster's).

We get our fashion inspiration everywhere. From runways, magazine pages, cereal boxes, formerly dear friends whose clothes we were NOT COPYING BUT PAYING HOMAGE TO GAWD, to old movies. Sometimes we even collect idea pellets from our dear friends in pippipcheerio-PG-Tips-guzzling, Marks & Spencer's-shopping, CRISPS-eating ENGUHLAND. Especially since it seems everyone over there got at least 30-34 percent more attractive and fun to look at. Forthwith, I introduce you our new feature "View From Across The Pond" an intermittent check in with the pretty young lasses (wait, that's like Scottish, right? And English people and Scottish people beef? Hmm... ) from the Old Country to take a peek into the trends that are sweeping their rolling hillocks and fecund dells (dudes, stay with me here it's almost over) on the backs and feet of some seriously gorge girls. This round we've got Alexa Chung, Sienna Miller, Bip Ling, Daisy Lowe, Fearne Cotton and Adele.

As a whole, we're seeing a great deal of reds, grays, and blacks. Dyed skinny jeans, waxed jeggings, shortie boots, platform heels, Opaque tights are de rigueur. As are scoop necklines. As always we love any adornment Bip places on her darling head. This big loosey-goosey bow perfectly accentuates her way-too-long-in-a-cute-way sleeves.

Hardware resplendent scuffed-up boots with messy bangs to match on Ms. Lowe. Opaque tights galore on all three with more red on the girls (with the exception of the ever elegant, always black-clad Adele) from Daisy's scarlet smock to the accessories on Fearne Cotton. The thing we'd most like to note of Ms. Cotton's ensemble is that she's taken summer elements and winterized them. Cutoff jorts with open-toed shoes DEF work with toasty, thick tights and judging from the naval stripes we'd bet Fearne's rocking a boatneck shirt, which leads us to the silhouette of Adele's black dress with three-quarter-length sleeves. Typically we'd make comment of the fact that we'd love to see some jewelry or similar bits of "flair" on the singer, but DAMN, if her eyelash game ain't right.

Theodora Richards at the Macy's bar III store launch in New York on Feb. 9, Daisy Lowe at the Elie Saab A/W 2011/2012 show in Paris on March 9, and Abbie Cornish at the 'Limitless' premiere in New York on March 8.

Look, ladies, I saw Exit Through The Gift Shop, too. I mean, we all did. And personally (having worked at a graffiti lifestyle magazine in my youth [OK, to be fair I've worked at several publications that have chronicled the art form BUT I WAS BORN IN THE '70S AND LIVE IN NEW YORK WHAT DO YOU WANT?]), I have a soft spot for it all. I HEART when artists like Todd "REAS" James get to design a whole mess of HILARIOUS characters for TV shows or when Claw Money (who's famous for having the City's most extensive sunglass collection) comes out with original sunnies designs of her own. I am SWOONING over something as simple as KAWS making light bulbs for the Standard Hotel but hold the bedazzled smartphone at this rash of socialite/"it girl"/actress types catching tags all over town! So weird, right? We've got Australian actress, Abbie Cornish, in the April issue of InStyle (she's also on the cover of Marie Claire) talking about how she writes under the name "Dusk," then we've got Keith Richards's kid Theodora getting BUSTED for scrawling a teeny weeny "T <3 A" on the side of a Soho building and pics of model / socialite / designer / illegitimate seed of Gavin Rossdale, Daisy Lowe, bopping around town with actress Jaime Winstone with drippy evidence of a wild graf night out. Is this going to be a thing? Good grief, I hope not.

Rihanna in London on Dec. 14, Willow Smith at Z100's Jingle Ball 2010 in New York on Dec. 10, Daisy Lowe at the Quintessentially 10th Anniversary Party in London on Dec. 13.

As far as hairstyles go, the bowl cut is one that has come and gone for centuries—Cleopatra wore it, The Beatles wore it, Mary J. Blige wore it... And JUST THIS WEEK we spotted three celebs who have been bowled over, including Rihanna, Willow Smith, and Daisy Lowe. In London on Dec. 14, Rihanna traded in her fiery hair hue for a brunette crop top (we can't wait to see the 'do sans a hat!). Meanwhile, Willow Smith popped by Z100's Jingle Ball on Dec. 10 rocking bouncy, brow-skimming locks, and English fashion model Daisy Lowe arrived at a party in London on Dec. 13 with this chic chop that she paired with ruby red lips. Our prediction is that we're going to see A LOT more glam helmet heads in 2011! But, what do you think?

+ Would you ever wear a bowl cut like Rihanna, Willow Smith, or Daisy Lowe?

UPDATE: Daisy Lowe's "bowl cut" is actually a wig! She confirmed it via her Twitter page.
