Snoop Dogg Happy Socks

Snoop Dogg gettin' sock happy.
Photo: Happy Socks

Just when us fashion nerds thought nothing could top Snoop Dogg's "Saint-Tropez" music video featuring Karl Largerfeld (seriously, that happened), today the rapper announced he's partnering with Swedish brand Happy Socks to create the Art of Inspiration collection, which "aims to encourage and explore creativity and artistic expression" ...through socks. Basically, this means you can wear Snoop Dogg art on your feet 24/7, which is all we've ever wanted. (How did they know?)

Jared Leto Chanel

Photo: Getty Images/Chanel

We're already well aware that Jared Leto was trying to make leggings a thing (see: our boy wearing spandex on Instagram with the hashtag "realmenwearleggings"), but today he turned heads when he arrived at Chanel's Paris Haute Couture show in skintight gold tweed trousers paired with an inside-out graphic tee, chambray shirt, beaded necklace, and his signature ombré strands. There was something about his pants-tucked-into-cowboy-boots ensemble that made us want to investigate it a bit further, and as it turns out, he was actually pulling a look straight from Chanel's Paris-Dallas Métiers d'Art 2013/14 women's RTW show.

Ansel Elgort

Ansel Elgort in the August issue of 'GQ.'
Photo: GQ

GQ decided to make our day/week/life by putting the one and only Ansel Elgort in their August issue (it must be noted that I originally typed "on" instead of "in," but alas, Emily Ratajkowski is the cover girl because apparently the average GQ reader is more interested in a hot video vixen than a YA dreamboat. Go figure!). If you're not a self-described Anselite (#guilty), you might be surprised to hear that the Fault in Our Stars leading man was a ballet dancer and not, in fact, a professional model before his acting career took off, because the dude is a TOTAL NATURAL. Get him on a runway stat!

It's been a hot minute since we had some Fashion Fanfic on da blog, and when we spotted Joe Jonas having a grand ol' time during Milan Fashion Week these past few days, we couldn't help wondering what notes he'd jot down in his fashion week diary. So, we thought we'd make it up ourselves. Inspired by the (very!) real three-piece NYFW installment he wrote last season, here's a fabricated version of what went down overseas with Front Row Joe (as we're affectionately calling him) at MFW.

DAY 1: JOHN VARVATOS

Joe Jonas Milan Fashion Week

Hey. It's me, Joe. (IDK if I'm supposed to introduce myself to a diary, but I'm a gentleman, and it seems rude not to.) I flew into Italy last night and headed to the John Varvatos show first thing in the morning. Instead of my normal AM juice run (kale FTW, am I right?), I did a shot of espresso because I'm in Europe, and I'm #living. Even though it's not seasonally appropriate, I decided to play it safe in an all-black outfit because that's what NYFW taught me, and I do everything they say. In this photo, I'm trying to force a smile while thinking about all the #worldcup games I'm missing because of this. (U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!)

Greetings from Brazil! For the past few days, I’ve been hanging in Salvador, paddleboarding at the beach, listening to a whole lot of bossa nova, and, oh yeah, watching more soccer than I ever have in my life. Honestly, I’m a World Cup newbie, and as a style writer, one of the things that’s caught my eye is all of the attention to HAIR. Past all of the splashy kicks and colorful World Cup kits (that’s sports code for "uniform"), I’ve learned that hair is really where the players stylistically ~flex~. And there’s been a whole lot of flexing. A week into soccer’s quadrennial tournament, every team has played at least once, so we’ve gotten a full look at all of the hairstyles. Here’s the best of the World Cup hair.

NEYMAR — BRAZIL

Neymar, who’s emerged as the face of the Brazil World Cup, made his hair his signature well before the tournament began. But yesterday, he upgraded his mohawk-bangs-hybrid for his team’s game against Mexico with some Aaron Carter- and Lance Bass-esque frosted tips. I’m guessing Neymar is a fan of '90s boy bands?

DANI ALVES — BRAZIL

IMO, Brazil’s whole team pretty much kills it in the hair department. I hope they got a group discount at the salon when Neymar and Dani Alves showed up to get their bleach on. But Alves, who also debuted a blonde 'do at yesterday’s game, might have had different inspo in mind, like America’s Next Top Model’s Jay Manuel and No Doubt’s Tony Kanal. Or maybe they were just paying tribute to the 1998 World Cup when all of Romania’s team showed up with bleached hair.

Kanye West

Even after his balls-out wedding weekend in France and Italy, it seems that Kanye West still can't get enough of ye olde Europe. Today, he made a surprise appearance at the Cannes Lions Festival for the "Technology, Culture, and Consumer Adoption: Learning to Read the Cultural Landscape" seminar and talked about—you guessed it—all things tech and style. After dropping a few sentimental words for his idol Steve Jobs ("Steve Jobs, as everyone knows, was my biggest influence—just seeing the way he fought to make things easier for people. After he passed, I made it my life's mission to do what he did inside of that company"), he mentioned how his first-ever Vogue cover also seriously (seriously!) impacted his life.

Robert Pattinson Bright Suits

Dang, it's been awhile since we've seen our boy Robert Pattinson all suited up, but thanks to his latest film, The Rover, R-Patz is back and bolder than ever—and we mean that literally. Yesterday at a his L.A. premiere, Robbie (oh, can we call you that? Cool, thanks) made quite the entrance in a blindingly bright blue suit. But if this whole look is feeling eerily familiar, you aren't crazy. For the past four years, he's made a statement Gucci suit his signature red carpet ensemble. Let's take a look back, shall we?

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is v stylish, and soon, the whole world will know.
Photo: Getty Images

Unfortunately for those of us looking forward to another Heat v. Thunder accessories arms race, the Oklahoma City Thunder narrowly missed their chance to play in this year's NBA Finals—leaving those of us invested in the Western Conference (for reasons I won't get into on this platform) with the Spurs. (Listen, they're a great team, one of the greatest, most consistent of all time, don't get me wrong, but from the fashion side of things offer only this.) But for those of you who, like us, are pining for the days of yore, there's a silver lining. WWD reports that OKC point guard Russell Westbrook is teaming up with Barneys for a very special collaboration. So dust off your lensless glasses, folks. Russ is about to turn your closet UP.

Prince French Open

No one lives up to their name quite like Prince. The funk lord's outfits are always stage-ready even when he's just chillin' on the sidelines. Today at the French Open, Prince totally stole the show in his relaxed-yet-regal ensemble, which included a white turtleneck worn under an oversized navy jersey with matching flared trousers. (Also, please note the barely-there 'stache. Perfection.) But it's The Purple One's accessory of choice that we think really stole the show. And we're NOT talking about those mirrored aviator sunglasses.

pharrell williams lamp

Pharrell Williams and the lamp he designed for Kartell.
Photo: Getty Images/BBC Icecream

First off, hi! I'm back. Did you miss me? Did you even know I left? Probs not, but I'm writing for MTV Style again—this time from the West Coast. [Insert smug sunglasses emoji here.] But enough about that, let's get down to biz aka talking about Pharrell doing stuff—and by "stuff" I mean "designing lamps." Between creating a fragrance, collabbing with Adidas, and performing at awards shows, the N.E.R.D. frontman certainly wears many hats (heh). For his latest venture, Pharrell took on the world of furniture design by creating his own version of Ferruccio Laviani’s classic Bourgie table lamp. Italian furniture company Kartell invited Pharrell and 19 other designers (including Lenny Kravitz!) to re-imagine the iconic lamp on the 10th anniversary of its debut, and he totally killed it.
