Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel shrug off the jean suit comparisons at the "Runner Runner" premiere.
Photo: Getty Images

Gather round, Fashion Fanfic readers. It's time for another installment of made-up celebrity conversations. Last night, Justin Timberlake and his lovely wife, Jessica Biel, showed up to the premiere of Justin’s new movie, Runner Runner, wearing basically the same thing. The handsome couple both hit the red carpet in verrry similar tuxedo suits. Here, we imagine what getting ready in the Timberlake-Biel household might have been like that night.

Justin anxiously tapped his pointed patent dress shoe on the bespoke, marble-glazed floor and let out a hefty sight. "JESS! Girl, come ON. We only got four minutes to save the wor— before we have to leave for my premieeeereyyeah!" he yelled with a slight staccato. For a moment, he thought about texting his co-star, Ben Affleck, to tell him they were running late, but he quickly remembered that Jennifer never lets him take his cellphone to events in an effort to help him "be more present."

"COMING!" Jessica hollered back. "Have you seen my black, gold-trimmed mini-briefcase purse? I can't find it anywhere!"

No celebrity wedding of this generation has broken hearts quite as loudly and across the board as the matrimonial union of Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. Timberlake, the heart-throb frontman of international phenomenon *NSYNC, and Biel, the definition of The Girl Next-Door: beautiful, smart, talented, and athletic. They're the kind of couple that, on paper, makes you FURIOUS, but in the wild, they're extremely cognizant and tone down the PDA for your benefit. Your heart can't help but defrost a little because they're soooo dadgum adorable.

After hearing rumors that Biel wore a pink dress for the ceremony, People Magazine has finally confirmed, putting the newlyweds on the cover of their latest issue. A pink wedding dress is a ballsy move, one we haven't seen since our spirit animal Gwen Stefani tied the knot with Gavin Rossdale. And even though our hearts are still aching, it's hard to mourn JT being off the market when you're too busy applauding his wife's indubitable badassery.

Katharine McPhee, Sarah Hyland, and Heidi Klum at the Golden Globes on Jan. 15, 2012, in Beverly Hills, California.
Photo: Getty Images

If there was one overwhelming trend the 2012 Golden Globes had going on, it was a serious case of the pales. Did all the stylists get together and party-phone this trend into existence or was this merely a coincidence? You could call it a parade of champagne, a pallid paradise, or a nakie-nudie FANTASIA OF FLESH TONES, but most of the dresses we spied this year were decidedly wan in the color department. Still, the ladies looked lovely!

If you squint your eyes while looking at Katharine McPhee, she totally transforms into Birthday Suit Barbie. Wearing a strapless midi, tea-length Donna Karan dress embellished with leaf-shaped sparkles and matching sky-high stiletto plats, we think she looks DAZZLING and ready for her Smash TV show. Sarah Hyland's vintage, beige lace Dolce & Gabbana gown with a black lace trim at the waist may have suffered a zipper malfunction (which had her handlers pinning her back into it on the red carpet), but she carried herself like a lady through it all. Poise! Heidi Klum was all sorts of GORGE in a wispy nude Calvin Klein dress accentuated with turquoise panache courtesy of one MAYJAH necklace by Lorraine Schwartz. But we're just getting started...there was a whole carnival of cream up in there, too.

The 2011 Oscars red carpet was just the beginning. Nominees plus dozens of other celebs slipped into their cutest cocktail dresses for the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, one of the most coveted post-Academy Awards tickets in Hollywood.

SHOWSTOPPERS: A memo must have gone out! There was a TON of crimson at the Oscars, and the scene was much the same at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. Zoe Saldana wore a Prabal Gurung fuchsia and red frock, Selena Gomez slipped into a body-lengthening Dolce & Gabbana gown, Anna Kendrick wore a ruffled scarlet Notte by Marchesa dress, and Anna Paquin rocked a ballet-inspired Monique Lhuillier dress.

THRILL OF THE LACE: Nothing says glamour like a little lace. Mia Wasikowska (in Stella McCartney), Zooey Deschanel (in Valentino), Ginnifer Goodwin (in Erdem), and Jena Malone (in a sleeveless, tummy-"showing" cocktail dress) chose to drive the point home in A LOT of the feminine fabric.

AU NATUREL: You'd think that wearing a dress that matches your skin tone would completely wash you out and make you look like a blob of, well, beige. But it was quite the opposite for Jessica Biel (in a strappy Versace gown), Gwyneth Paltrow (in the same Michael Kors gown she performed in at the Oscars), Taylor Swift (in a Zuhair Murad minidress), and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (in a Valentino Haute Couture dress). These stars glowed!

SINGING THE BLUES: Our new fashion theory is that ANYONE can dazzle in a blue hue. Enter: Rosario Dawson in a high-slit Diane von Furstenberg dress, Lea Michele in a long-sleeve sparkling Roberto Cavalli gown, and Dianna Agron in an ankle-length, flowing frock by J. Mendel.

TAKE THE PLUNGE: One thing's for sure—a lot of double-sided tape was used last night to keep the deep necklines of Claire Danes' cream Calvin Klein dress, Emma Roberts' sparkling Jenny Packham creation, and Gabrielle Union's stunning Diane von Furstenberg purple dress in place.

CHIC FRILLS: You have to be careful with ruffles, as there's a fine line between classy and trashy, but these ladies pull them off. Rashida Jones (in Valentino), Selita Ebanks (in red and beige one-shoulder dress), Amanda Seyfried (in Valentino), and Cameron Diaz (in Carolina Herrera), looked uber-ladylike in their perfectly frilly frocks.

PRINTS CHARMING:We know that trends come in threes (at least). But we were so mesmerized by Emma Stone's short-sleeved Chanel Haute Couture dress and Lourdes Leon's AllSaints Aztec minidress that we couldn't help but mentioning. You like, right?

Listen, we're not going to sit type here and tell you it's easy to pull off the underwear-shown-on-purpose look. Nothing looks weirder than thick white bra straps peek-a-booing out from under a racerback tank top. Been there! But — and there's always a but — if done right, teaming a black bra with a black lacy dress or top can actually look chic, and stars Jessica Biel, Kristin Cavallari, and Jessica Lowndes nailed the look. To get it right — and not risqué — start with a solid black bra and add to it one of these sheer-looking outfit ideas below.

Jessica Biel brought her A-game to the red carpet in promotion of her latest flick A-Team. In Madrid on Monday, she embodied simple elegance in a one-shouldered, taupe, and black Vionnet cocktail dress. Then, she went for a fiery siren look in a red Giambattista Valli gown and messy-chic hair at the London premiere on Tuesday — our favorite because that dress is sheer in a classy, elegant way. At Thursday's Berlin premiere, she showed off her curves in a blue beaded frock by Atelier Versace. (She also straightened her hair, and we must admit, it makes a huge difference. We prefer her straight hair over curly.) And finally, she wore a casual pastel pantsuit in Berlin this morning. A PANTSUIT! This is hard to pull off without looking like a principal, but she made it young. With all of these surprises, we can't wait to see her next move.
