It happens at the beginning of every summer: I lay on the beach and envision my skin turning into a beautifully sun-kissed shade of bronze. By the time August hits, there's no tan in sight—just a peely nose, hot pink shoulders, and, ugh, freckles. As an adult, I've always shied away from too much sun time for fear of dark spots taking over my face, so when I saw Topshop was launching a freckle pencil this July, my speckled jaw dropped. Wait, people want melanin-pigmented abnormalities on their face? OK, fashion world. You've certainly got my attention.
I think new 1D makeup is coming?

One Direction has a ton of products attached to their name. There are shoes, eyeglasses, multiple fragrances, and even a makeup collection, because if you put those cute li'l faces on something, Directioners (myself included, natch) will snatch it up. Well, it looks like Directioners have a fellow fan of One Direction-endorsed products in Mr. Niall Horan.
The band's lone Irishman shared a picture of his hands with numerous color swatches across them–he even has on multiple nail polishes. I guess we can assume 1D is getting a second makeup line because, according to Niall, the band had a meeting about makeup and it's "that good I'm gon[n]a start wearing it myself." Well, Niall, that will be a new look for you, but I'm not opposed—some of the shadows you're showing off would really complement your eyes.
We need these in our hands right now.

Since it was first announced in March, we've been keeping a close eye on the collaboration between Lorde and MAC Cosmetics. The two-piece collection features a deep-plum lipstick named after her album Pure Heroine, which can be used as a lipstick or a stain, and a black eyeliner called Rapidblack. Finally, they're available for purchase.
Grace Choi, founder of the Mink 3D makeup printer
Say it's Monday morning. You wake up late, and you look like you haven't slept in five days, even though you literally just opened your eyes. You grab some clothes from your floor (I won't tell) and reach for your favorite tube of lipstick, because you know it'll solve all your problems/brighten up your face and life/make you look like you are a real, living, breathing human despite the way you feel. But your lipstick is nowhere to be found. Disappeared. Vanished.
BUT IT'S FINE, NP, WHATEV, because you can just whip up another tube of your favorite lipstick. Just march right over to your 3D makeup printer—a real thing that exists!—and et voila. All the lipstick, blush, and eyeshadow you could ever want, made a reality because THE FUTURE IS NOW. And the future you is wearing green sparkly eyeshadow. Or bright purple lipgloss. Or perhaps neon pink blush is more your thing? If you can dream it, you can do it. At least as far as makeup goes...we can't promise anything else.

If you’ve ever wanted Lorde’s vampy beauty look, here’s your chance: Our favorite teen goth singer is collaborating with MAC Cosmetics on a limited-edition makeup line that drops this summer (#summergoth). Speaking about the collaboration, Lorde told The Cut, “I have loved MAC Cosmetics since I was a little kid. I remember saving up to buy my very first MAC lipstick [Snob] at 14, and it was used by about 20 of my friends! MAC has a very clear aesthetic, that has always felt fashion forward to me. So I was really excited to work with them on these products, which I use pretty much every day and night. I hope you will too.”

Rita Ora for Rimmel London.

IT'S HEE-RREE! That's right, Ritabots. After almost six months of waiting, guessing, and drooling, we've finally gotten our first full glimpse of the ad campaign for Rita Ora's long-anticipated collaboration with Rimmel London. Yesterday, Ora Instagrammed the world exclusive editorial spread to her loyal fans, and despite the frigid temps (on the East Coast, at least *scowls at California*), we can officially confirm that spring has sprung—and it's going to be a bright one.
Holland Roden for Byrdie.
Guess what. We just found another reason why winter needs to end ASAP (as if the arctic temperatures and slush puddles weren't reason enough). In a new photo shoot for Byrdie, Teen Wolf's Holland Roden slays some of spring's biggest makeup looks, and it's just the best. Seriously, if these photos are any indication of how my face is going to look come April, I'm welcoming spring forward with open arms. It looks like this season is going to be all about bright lips and colorful nails (and sunscreen, if you want a complexion as flawless as Holland's). Miss Roden tries out a number of different looks for the shoot, each one arguably cuter than the next. She kicks things off with matching fuchsia lips and nails, both of which stand out against her denim jacket and Bambi eyes.
