SHE does Paris Fashion Week.

If you ever went to Disney World as a little kid, then you likely know the unbridled joy of the beloved character's breakfast. As you and your family ordered eggs and bacon, Disney favorites would walk around the restaurant, allowing for photo ops and scribbling signatures in autograph books. It was kind of like meeting your idols (at an age when idolizing cartoons wasn't totally cray). As an adult, one might liken it to Rihanna's first few days of Paris Fashion Week, where she basically buddied up with ALL the best designers for a monster collection of framable photos. (It should also be noted that Rih managed to wear a different shade of lipstick in every single shot, which is just, like, wow. *bows down*)
Just as its name suggets, the Film Independent Spirit Awards—an annual precursor to the Academy Awards which doles out trophies for artier, smaller-budget films—is also a night when Hollywood’s starlets feel free to do their own thing on the red carpet. In terms of fashion, it’s like the Oscars’ cool younger sister (the Skipper to Oscars' Barbie, if you will). Set in a tent on Santa Monica beach, the chill atmosphere usually makes for more interesting semi-casual attire, a departure from the ball gown parade. From rompers to cocktail dresses, here are our favorite looks.
SHAILENE WOODLEY IN LYN DEVON

Shailene Woodley is case in point of the stark contrast between the Oscars and Indie Spirit Awards, where stars wear real clothes—or, at least, clothes most people have a better chance of wearing IRL. The Spectacular Now nominee serves as a tutorial on how to wear a crop top on the red carpet, keeping the trend strong. Her Lyn Devon outfit perfectly balanced out her bare midriff with a tasteful maxi skirt, and majorly complemented her new pixie cut. Best of all: Shailene didn’t look too precious or fussy.

It may only be mid-January, but 2014 is shaping up to be a pretty good year for funny ladies. I mean, hello! EVERY SINGLE televised awards show has been hosted by a hilarious female duo so far. Granted, this is only the second show of the season, but two outta two ain't bad. Earlier this week, Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs took on the People's Choice Awards, and tonight, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will undoubtedly kill it on the Golden Globes stage.
Kristen Stewart evidently has a thing for sheer jumpsuits.

Looks like Kristen Stewart is a believer in the adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." And "it," in this case, refers to dressy, sheer jumpsuits. While other pop stars and Hollywood PYTs spent their Fourth of July holidays wearing various iterations of red, white, and blue, K.Stew spent Independence Day overseas at Zuhair Murad's Paris Haute Couture show in a black jumpsuit by the Lebanese designer. Granted, it's generally good form for celebs to sport the wares of any given designer whose show they're attending, and sure, the whole sparkly sheer look is kiiiind of Zuhair Murad's thing, but we refuse to ignore that this isn't that Kristen hasn't just worn this style once or twice but THREE times.

Forget all the pretty studded 2013 Met Gala gowns for a second. Forget those strategically-placed cutouts and ubiquitous "I'm so punk by NOT being punk!" lines, too. Right now, let's all focus on Kristen Stewart, who decided to wear a Stella McCartney jumpsuit on the red carpet tonight, and boy, did she ROCK it. It's only fitting that the former Runaways star would pay sartorial homage to "Punk: Chaos to Couture" in true K.Stew fashion: by not smiling and wearing pants (and not surprisingly, schooling everyone on her fave punk songs...). And this time, her no-nonsense casual attitude meshed perfectly with the night's theme.
Rihanna and Rita Ora both wore sports jerseys as dresses.

From the runways for brands like DKNY to athletes-slash-clotheshorses like Iman Shumpert and Russell Westbrook, there's NO doubt that sporty style has returned for another major fashion moment. Now the ultimate staple in athletic wear, the jersey, has officially made the jump from the field, the rink, and the court smack dab into the middle of the music world. Case in point: Rihanna and Rita Ora, who each rocked her own take on the jersey while out and about in California recently. Rihanna repped the NHL (who knew she was even a fan?) in a long-sleeved vintage black, white and red Ottawa Senators jersey, which she paired with strappy gold Tom Ford heels and red lipstick. The one item noticeably absent from her glammed-up West Hollywood look was pants. But then again, leave it to Rihanna to turn a makeshift dress into clubwear and still make it work.
Taylor Swift in the Dec/Jan issue of 'Harper's Bazaar.'

Guys, Taylor Swift has officially taken over all the fall/winter fashion mags. From Glamour to Marie Claire to ELLE, T-Swift's sparkling baby blues and blonde locks are the focus of everyone's attention as of late. Today she landed yet another killer photo shoot—this time with Harper's Bazaar—but, unlike her traditionally whimsical covers, she ditched her girly dress obsession for *gasp* TROUSERS. That's right, Tay Tay has an entire spread dedicated to pants. And, hey, if you think we're kidding when we say she's got a thing for frocks, check this out: She told Harper's she owns hundreds. "I'm in a predicament where I can't wear a dress twice or else it's pointed out in magazines, so"—she starts laughing—"unfortunately I have to shop for dresses all the time." (That doesn't seem so bad.) In one look from the spread, she sports an all-white Emporio Armani ensemble complete with Stella McCartney platforms, and in another outfit, she goes '60s mod chic in a monochromatic white Sportmax top paired with striped trousers and Alexander Wang pumps. Perf!
Tonight's 2012 EMA red carpet was ALL about branching out of one's fashion comfort zone. Whether it's Rita Ora trading jumpsuits for a floor-length dress, Taylor Swift opting for a super-sleek gown (sans red lipstick!) or Carly Rae Jepsen taking Old Hollywood glamour to the next level, these ladies pulled out all the style stops tonight in Frankfurt. Those watching stateside have to wait a few hours in order to see the action go down on TV, but we've got your EMA fashion preview right here. Check out our top five looks below!
LANA DEL REY IN SHAREEN

Lana Del Rey has built her entire career on her retro-inspired sound, so it's only appropriate the singer rocked an equally old-school look at tonight's Europe Music Awards. Keeping things simple in a vintage-inspired midnight blue satin wrap dress by Shareen and black pumps, H&M's newest face styled her jet-black hair into her trademark bouffant for a grownup look that's not boring, not over the top, but JUST right. Well done, Lana!
Jaime King, Katy Perry, Emma Roberts, and Mandy Moore at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event in L.A. on Oct. 25.

Well, we're officially jealous of the West Coast. Yesterday, celebs, designers, and artists gathered together for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. looking as if winter weren't just a month away (or mere days if you count the Frankenstorm coming our way. Yipes!). Jaime King, Katy Perry, Emma Roberts, and Mandy Moore all showed up sporting super summery graphic print frocks that are seriously making us miss those warm summer days. Jaime wore a crimson red paisley print peplum Giambattista Valli Resort 2013 dress with a brown Valentino clutch and matching shoes. She finished her look with a killer gold cuff, bold red lips and soft, blonde waves. PERF!
