Happy Birthday, America!

Happy July 3, everyone! If you're anything like me, Fourth of July really came outta nowhere this year, right? Like, tomorrow is the day with all the BBQs and fireworks? I feel like I was just sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner. Anyway, whether or not you forgot tomorrow is a national holiday, you still have time to swag yourself out with the American flag. You can even do so from head to toe, if you're so inclined. We traveled high and low (on the interwebz) to find the most patriotic gear out there that is available in stores all across the country.

Let's get started—the big day is quickly approaching!

You can begin your flagfit (flag + outfit) on your head with this hat from Forever 21. It is currently on sale for $5, but the color is appropriately faded so it looks vintage and will appear like you've long been celebrating the U.S.A.

We love online shopping—maybe a little too much. Sometimes, we'll find ourselves 37 pages deep into the sale section on Urban Outfitters buying an alien piggy bank at 3 a.m., wondering if we have a problem. Truth is, we probably do, but there is one good thing that comes out of our shopping addiction: our ability to find the weirdest shiz on the internet. Basically, Urban Outfitters' sale section is filled with gems, and by that, we mean insanely ridiculous stuff that no one bought. It's pretty much our favorite place on the internet. So, here are 12 of the most WTF things that you can buy at UO right this second, and, hey, they're all on sale!

Throughout the past couple of weeks we've been talkin' about prom. We've shown you dresses for different price points and rompers and jumpsuits to consider instead of a dress. Sure, finding a prom dress for under $150 is cool, but you know what's cooler? A billion dresses for $150. JK, it's finding an entire prom look for $100. Yep, even though it sounds impossible, we've found three dress/shoe/bag combinations that not only work together, but are under 100 bones. TOTAL. While there are plenty of expensive dresses out there, you definitely can cop your entire look for less, if you want to. Check out our three fave combos below!

Prom

When it comes to prom, tulle is probably the fabric that first comes to mind. Like, LBR, your mind doesn't immediately go to cotton when the word prom is uttered. This dress ($22.80) reverses typical prom dress styles with a layer of tulle on the outside of the skirt. Throw on a leather jacket you already own and pair it with metallic silver shoes ($47.04) and a small clutch ($19.99) and you're good to go.

TOTAL: $86.83

Florals

Flower power.

In case you missed the news: The Goonies is coming back. Director Richard Donner seemingly confirmed the news over the weekend to TMZ and is even in ongoing discussions with the original cast to return. Inspired by this news, Chunk's love of Hawaiian shirts, and one of spring's biggest trends, we sought out the season's finest florals. They're everywhere—from shoes to hats and everything in between. We collected a few of our faves and rounded them up for your consideration/enjoyment/shopping needs, etc. Check 'em out below, and if you introduce the flowery print to your wardrobe, be sure to do the Truffle Shuffle whenever you can.

Florals

This maxi dress from Nasty Gal features a subtle floral print. The colors are muted, but the oversized flowers speak for themselves—spring is here.

Florals

This American Eagle skirt combines the colors and print size of a typical Hawaiian shirt, but features it on a skirt and against a black background, making it automatically more wearable. The best part? It's on sale for under $25!

Valentine's Day

Don't go overboard with the Valentine's Day accessorizing.
Photo: Nasty Gal/ASOS/Urban Outfitters/LEIF/Bauble Bar

As you are probably well aware, Valentine's Day is on Friday. While some people go all-out with reds, pinks, hearts, cupids, whatever, we prefer a simpler approach. There are plenty of options for you to acknowledge that it is, in fact, Valentine's Day without gluing hearts made of doilies to all of your clothes. We've rounded up a few accessories that are perfect for a low-key Valentine's Day look (and that you may even wear on days not found in February).

Valentine's Day

Probably not inspired by Beyonce.
Photo: Urban Outfitters

On Valentine's Day, this XOXO ring could mean "hugs and kisses," but on any other day, it could be just two of your favorite letters on a ring, next to each other. The delicate letters are pretty and subtle, so your finger won't be screaming "I LOVE/NEED/WANT HUGS AND KISSES," but will be nonchalant like, "Oh, the letters on the ring are also the way I sign all my emails." Cool.

Valentine's Day

Express your feelings through Whitney, Drake, Mariah, Kanye, Walt, and Jesse.
Photo: Etsy/Urban Outfitters

With Valentine's Day still over a week away, you might not have considered what to get for your BF/GF/frand/dog/cat/unrequited crush. There are plenty of options out there (chocolate, teddy bear, jewelry, etc.), but what you actually give doesn't matter, as long as it's accompanied by a cool card. Sure, you could buy the same Disney Princess valentines you gave out to everyone in your class in fifth grade, OR you could step your game up. We've searched high and low on this vast internet for cards that don't suck. Check 'em out below—you still have time to order!

Valentine's Day

Express your feelings through Kanye West.
Photo: Etsy

WARNING: This card is only appropriate for, like, your longterm BF/GF and/or your mom. Telling someone you love them like Kanye West loves Kanye is a lotta love, and not everyone can handle it. The man has a lot of love for his own genius, so don't give this card out to the guy who makes your coffee every morning. You may love him for one to two minutes per day, but that love does not come close to approaching Kanye's level of self-love.

girls

'Girls' costume designer, Jenn Rogien, in the show's wardrobe department.

If you've ever watched Girls, you've probably found yourself excitedly pointing at the television, screaming, "HEY, I HAVE THAT TOP! I THINK." And then you undoubtedly rewind, pause, and run to your closet to confirm. "OMG. I DO have that top." *turns to friend, significant other and/or entirety of viewing party* "Told you so." Not to burst your bubble or anything, but we'd guess a LOT of people have picked up some of the very same pieces that Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shosh wear on the show—because the characters shop at some of the very same places as us IRL folk. "They source the clothes and accessories from vintage shops, Urban Outfitters, Etsy, Beacon’s Closet, Bergdorfs, Salvation Army, Strawberry and, like, everywhere in between," The Coveteur dishes in a new, behind-the-scenes interview with Girls' costume designer, Jenn Rogien.

We'll be the first to admit that trying to make plans for New Year's Eve stresses us out: the 12-month anticipation, the unavoidable crowds, the ever-important, gotta-be-stunning outfit of the YEAR. OK, so maybe we're being a ~little~ dramatic, but with less than a week to prep your look after a month of holiday hustle and bustle, sometimes you just gotta reach into your closet and hope for the best. Of course, you also want to LOOK your best, so why not start with one of your tried-and-true basics? Instead of going full-on Toddlers & Tiaras, take what you know and give it a new life by adding a few easy-to-find pieces from your local mall. (And TBH, this is how WE plan to roll, so don't knock it till you try it.)

The Little Black Dress: Chances are, you don't just have one, you have like, 100. It's the one wardrobe staple that every woman has been conditioned to own since the 1920s, when Coco Chanel made it "a sort of uniform for all women of taste." Give your little black dress a big night out on New Year's Eve with a Stevie Nicks-approved fringed kimono, velvet strappy pumps, a heavy metal statement necklace and a cross-body clutch for hands-free dancing.

Of all the foods typically associated with Christmas, gingerbread cookies—typically made from ginger, molasses, cinnamon, and cloves—are by FAR the best. Have you ever seen a fruitcake smile? I didn't think so. Gingerbread men are (1) adorable, (2) always dressed for the occasion (typically in a three-button onesie), and (3) permanently happy. How do you deny a dessert like that? These little guys are the perfect guests to invite into your stomach this holiday season. So, in honor of these tasty Christmas cookies, we've rounded up our favorite gingerbread man sweaters for this holiday installment of Food Friday.

It's raining men! HALLELUJAH! It's raining (gingerbread) men! AMEN! This sweater has it all: a flurry of cookie dudes, smiling faces, precious bow ties, AND buttons that look like berries from a holly bush. Festive.

Spirit Day

Plenty of purple! Take your pick.
Photos: Topshop/Urban Outfitters/Asos

If you've checked the Twitter trends today, you may have noticed #spiritday is trending. Spirit Day is when millions of people wear purple to show their support for the LGBT youth and to take a stand against bullying. You could wear an entire purple outfit, or just a purple pin: all that matters is that you show your support.
